Lynx, there not going to make a strap or anything, thats why they have the stock that holds the clip. These guns are intended for kids, 7-12/13, I quess? They might do something like they did with Supersoaker. Hasbro made a little Camelpak thing, which gives you more water. They might make a Dart Tag Vest with ammo foam holders, or a attachment for darts, kind of like a magazine dump bag.

My big question is, when this thing comes out, whether it be crappy or no, will Hasbro replace the beloved LS with it? Because, from what I've read here and observed from the pics, it looks like it won't have as much modding potential as the Longshot, so I wouldn't buy it unless I'm wrong. If the RC is the same as or better then the LS, no problem if they replace it, but if it's worse, it could be bad.

The LS came out last year, and all the kids today love it 'cause it's "t3h ub3r sn1p3z0rz", Nerf would have to be a bunch of idiots to discontinue it so soon. Sure the LS will be off the shelves in a few years, but for now don't worry.

Well, I'm completely sure it's gonna be worse (and I mean performance wise) than the Longshot. I mean, you think the plunger of the LS could fit or even be anywhere close the size of a LS? The plunger is at best the size of the NF. I pretty much think the Recon is a clippped Nf with a stock. Like a mini-Longshot basically. I sure the gun is gonna be fun, but probably not for wars, outdoor wars that is.

Chewbacca already posted a similar image comparison back on Page 6, but I thought the scale was off. So I did my own little comparison, really quickly. I scaled according to the assumption that the Recon uses the same exact magazine as the Longshot.


It appears to me that the Recon is very similar in size to the Longshot. The stock looks to be about the same length. The pistol-grip is slightly further forward, most likely to affect a better balance for one-handed use of the stripped down pistol. The Recon with its barrel looks to be slightly longer than the Longshot without its useless barrel extension. Without the Recon's barrel, the gun looks to be relatively well sized and weighted for single-handed use.

Definitely looking forward to this. The Longshot has been great for me, but certain aspects of it don't mesh well with my style of play (particularly, the position and mechanics of the cocking handle, which are quite annoying when I'm carrying a Manta Ray and a Nightfinder in my off-hand). The Recon looks to fit my game much better.

OMC, quick question (I only skimmed through the previous ridiculous number of pages, so forgive me if this has been answered): Does the cocking slide on the Recon double as the jam clearing door that we find on the Longshot?

The size of that plunger does not look good. The plunger doesn't even look like half of the one the Longshot. The worse case senario is that its a scout or maverick type plunger.

I highly doubt they'd put an arm to indicate that it's cocked on an inverted plunger (I think that's what they're called). Can we please stop speculating? We don't even know if that's the final look of the blaster (though I do appreciate Death and Chewbacca's size comparison to the Longshot).

Actually, from that picture, it looks like it could be nearly as big (the plunger) but the rod just goes out the back.
