New Nerf Blaster From Hasbro

I just received word from my friends at Hasbro that I have permission to share the following.
This is the NEW Nerf N-STRIKE RECON CS-6
I have edited the photos below to show what I know.
This is how the blaster comes apart. It is unknown yet, but it may be packaged in a smaller box because of this feature. There is also talk of including a case/bag/strap with it, but there is NO CONFIRMED evidence yet.
Features that I know
When the gun is cocked, an arm slides out and reminds you that it is cocked and loaded
I will answer as much as I can, but hopefully you can see it all here.
Official release date: Unknown, but probably spring 2008
Official Name: Recon CS-6 (it's an N-Strike line blaster)
I do not know what stores will carry it yet, or if any stores will have exclusive pack-ins like the bag/case/strap I talked about.
I do not know MSRP pricing yet either. I will post that when I know
It only comes with one clip right now.
That is it for now.

Did you find out when they are going to re-release the Crossbow?
I'm going to stop this before it snowballs for 10 pages, NOT HAPPENING

Anyways hate to be a noob but how do you cock it? I see the "cocker" but I'm not sure how it works. I'm sure FA24 will come up and post "this thread is hilarious" and then a week later have some sick mod on it. I was going to buy a longshot, but I'll thank my stars I didn't.....
EDIT: oh and is it just me, or does the main gun apart look like a clipped disk shot?
It's also kinda small, so I'm wondering how much range we will be able to squeeze...

Did they say anything about internals? Or will it be a newer looking LS?

Being a proud owner of two of these sidearms, I thought the same thing. Of course, something tells me this will make a much better sidearm (even though both Disk Shots have really good range, it looks like this will do better and have a much higher fire rate).
I've said it before, and I'll say it again. A good nerf gun is like a good woman. It shouldn't require extra lubrication.

But for Assassins...This thing has serious potential. The ability to take it apart is going to be really popular in that crowd, because they can sneak a large weapon into an area with less likelyhood of having it detected.
LARPers will find a use for it as a "ultimate" weapon with parts scattered around on their playing field. It could work well as a mission in HvZ too, gather the parts and then shots from that gun can reverse zombie-dom.
But as for standard wars...We'll see what kind of performance, and pricetag, this thing garners.
From the pictures provied by OMC it looks like the loading system may be different from the Longshot, as there's no substantial barrel in which to insert the dart, which makes me wonder if the dart will be pulled backwards instead, or if a sleeve will leave the dart in place, but close the barrel around it. It looks like it's roughly the size of a longshot, so we can probably expect similar ranges, depending on the breech.
If this one is simpler to modify, or has a more airtight bolt system, it may replace the Longshot. But a Captain-Slug style pump action mod is probably not feasible.
I'm looking forward to seeing this in the future.

Also, the "laser" isn't really a laser. My understanding is that it's like the NF's LED style "fake laser" minus the pressure switch.

It could have the same breech as a LS as seen in the LS carbine. From the pictures provied by OMC it looks like the loading system may be different from the Longshot, as there's no substantial barrel in which to insert the dart, which makes me wonder if the dart will be pulled backwards instead, or if a sleeve will leave the dart in place, but close the barrel around it. I hadn't thought of that, looks like there's just enough room to do that too. Good call.
I'm pretty sure this isn't fake, judging by
1)OMC's reputation
2)The color scheme
3)The speed with which OMC disassociated from Crossbow re-release rumors. (They won't re-release it ever. Sorry.)
4)The tendancy that Hasbro has shown of late to make a few changes to an already good product and re-release it. The various tech targets, the Disk Shot/NiteFinder similarity, etc.

Honestly, what do I have to gain from lying to you guys. It would definitely hurt my PETG sales. If there's one thing you can count on here, it's the fact that I want to make a buck off you all.

If so, are you sure that the primary portion of the blaster does not have a barrel sticking out of it? The detachable barrel could be a sleeve with a few inches of barrel extension, rather than just being a barrel extension.
And for that matter, are we sure that there is a barrel besides the detachable one?

Tell me this isn't a joke.
Please tell me it is a joke.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Things I don't like:
It looks like it will get less range than the longshot.
It also looks like it will only work with streamline darts.
It looks like it will also need a complicated mod to create a decent breach system.
It also looks like the stock could break fairly easily.
Looks as if the stock would not be able to hold the back up clip very well.
Looks kind of like a homemade.
The cocking system looks like it is going to be as fragile as a maverick, DTB, Firefly, and scout. We all know what kind of ranges those guns can get. I'll bet it will break easily on anyone who wants to get primary ranges.
Looks hard to cock with that sight thing on there.
Things I do like:
Upside down rail.
Can be broken down.
Looks big enough for integrations.
The cocking arm is visible to allow for possible crossbow plunger rod action.
It's not a remake of something still available but in a different color.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I will get one, But I won't hold my expectations high.
I don't feel the way I used to do.
I know its bad,
After what we had,
But I’m just not the angel you knew.
