There is a secondary parking lot when the main lot reaches capacity.  After parking, check in at the main office and then walk up the path to find the staging area.  Admin will be on hand to help.



FPS Cap: 300 FPS for most games.  Some rounds may have different/lower caps for different player classes and blaster types.  This will be clearly explained by admin at the start of those games.  There will be a 130 flat cap for low power games such as attack/defend and potentially domination.

Cost: $15.  This is the field fee for the paintball venue and is the best deal ever - you get a whopping 8 hours of gameplay on three massive fields with trenches, a village of wooden buildings, barrels, sand mounds, and forest.  Lots of cover!

When: Sunday, August 4, 2023, from 10:30 AM - 6 PM

Where: Sports Domain Academy, 1075 US-46, Suite A, Clifton, NJ

FPS Cap: 250 springers, 200 flywheels

Game Format: Flag Dash

Cost: $35.  This is the field fee for the indoor venue, you get 6 hours of competitive tournament gameplay in the Maryland flag dash format, which is extremely fun.  This is a casual style tournament, so you do not need to have a pre-formed team.  Best part?  It's indoors, so no 90 degree Jersey heat or thunderstorms to worry about!

I might be the first one making a post on NH in 2021 lol. After much deliberation, I decided it was best to pass the torch as the host of APOC. It's legacy is now in the hands of the United Nerf Ops group, specifically Nestor & Van. There's a transition where I'm still involved for the first year or so but ultimately it's now their show.

Why are you passing the torch?

The Nerf Ops group is much more local than I am and better equipped to host. Having a whole team of moderators and monthly practice hosting games is better structure than I could ever provide. Knowing this, it seemed selfish to rob the players of this better experience and to continue as we have. This group has established themselves as the premiere north east group as well as leaders in the space. Those who came in 2019 saw this for themselves as they aided me in running rounds.

Why the new location?

2019 was a shit show that we never want to relive. A move was considered even before transitioning to new event ownership. It will be good to have a field that we won't be kicked out of and gives far more dynamic gameplay. To all the old farts angry about this, calm down. This wasn't the first time APOC has switched locations. 

I hope you all will come and enjoy this event after the Covid hiatus last year. Please be open minded as things change with the times. I'm talking about you, Ted.

Join UNO (United Nerf Ops) for Apocalypse 2021, the LARGEST PvP nerf war in the Northeast! PLEASE READ that it costs 15 dollars per player to attend. 

It's a pretty safe bet that there won't be many wars this year thanks to quarantine from You-Know-What. But I wonder... can we still play games together? Like by remote?

So, we have to stay at home unless we must go out for essential services and no groups larger than 5 people. That rules out most conventional games. Plenty of small games to play in the house, but... I dunno, those feel like they get stale quick.

But I what about more league-based games? Like something you can play with very small teams in small rounds over a long time? That way it might at least feel like playing with a larger group, or at least add some exciting weight to smaller games.

• Gametype(s) that can be played in something as small and asymmetrical as a house or courtyard.
  • Hey, this old thread has some good ideas
  • Attack the Core (Assault). Think TF2's Dustbowl or Gravel pit, i.e. take turns attacking and defending the same course
  • Last Man Standing. Deathmatch with limited respawns
  • Ninja Hunt. One person with a melee weapon vs blaster-armed team, all in the dark
• The results of the game are posted online, with the winners scoring points for at least two collective teams and victory going to the team with the most points after a period of time.
• The thing that's tripping me up is how to handle teams. I haven't come up with a good and fair way to do that yet.
  • Pick a team at the start of the league period, and that's what you stick with. Straightforward, but I worry it could be abused by someone wanting to throw a game for the other team.
  • I thought about teams being randomly assigned after a game is finished. Like, draw lots to determine which team the winner scored for. But the more I think about it, the less fair that sounds.
