That thing is freaking awesome looking. I wonder how fast it would shoot if you removed the ar's and found a way to plug it into a wall...

p.s. Yakkers, no offense but you stole my fricken avatar! (partly joking)

I am predicting a skyrocket in the sale of these.

The barrel and ammo box are most likely parts you attach after removing the gun from the packaging. This allows the packaging to be more reasonably sized for shipping. Makes sense considering how huge it's going to be.

Whether the barrel does anything or not will have to wait to be discovered when someone gets their hands on one and posts a bajillion pictures for the rest of us.

I hate to say it but I have a bad feeling that this is the future of nerf. I know it looks pretty Bad Ass. But why? Why is hasbro suddenly producing nerf guns that no longer look like nerf. They look similar to real rifles.

I'm kind of on the wrong coastline to be the first one to get ahold of one since they typically hit California first.

Why is hasbro suddenly producing nerf guns that no longer look like nerf. They look similar to real rifles.

Because they sell REALLY well, which is why their sales for this particular brand are up 250%. They are still extremely bright colors.

You think they might sell ammo boxes considering what Slug said?

OOoohhhhh.... Replacement belts, already loaded with darts in a plastic ammo box, like they have for the armed forces? Neato....

Does anyone else see two triggers on the gun? The button on the top of the grip and the actual trigger. Could one of these be the motor button and the other be the belt feed trigger?

If the whole front barrel thing is removable, I think I'd take it off and add a cosmetic six barrel turret, it won't rotate and they'll only fire from one, but it's a cosmetic thing.

Every time i think of having chains wrapped around my chest and spraying darts all over the room, I want this thing a little bit more ^_^

Thats what I thought, but it looks like you would have to stretch your grip to fire one handed.

I found the best place to pick up newly released items is from a store just opening,Target and Walmart seem to ship stock to the newest stores first.

I don't. That piece (considering the size of the blaster) looks way too high up to be easily reached by your thumb.

I agree, I think it's just for aesthetic value.
Also, I'm going to talk with my friend about going in to the city on saturday.

When I saw this thing my jaw bounced off the floor and hit me in the face. I've got images of SAWs and .50 cals going through my head, and ideas of making particle board pillboxes with these things in them.

Just one question: Does anyone actually know when these things are estimated to hit the market?

It appears that you can remove the back gun and use it separately.
We should stop calling out/making fun of/pissing GC off. He's actually contributed and is available for trade. He's a better than average member no doubt. Got your back Cole.

I am seriously considering closing this topic. The frantic posting here is out of control.

No one should be going out of their way to contact Hasbro about this. If they want to tell us anything, it will come through one of us who gets contacted.

More importantly, no one is going to get into the toy fair. It is NOT open to the public, only the trade. Unless you own a toy store, I highly doubt you will be getting in, let alone paying the $130 entrance fee.

I'm not going to close this just yet, but let's keep the speculation down to a minimum. In fact, let's not have ANY of it.

To respond to this illiterate jackass, NO this NOT all about speculation. Speculate on NHQ. We have a certain level of quality here, and speculation does NOT add to it. You shouldn't contact them because the chances of you finding out anything are slim to none at best.

Chew on this for a second. Did you ever think that maybe I KNOW certain things already, but legal issues keep me from posting everything. I knew about the Recon MONTHS before anyone posted even a HINT about it.

It all boils down to this. Guessing about shit just goes nowhere. It's not worth wasting anyone's time trying to guess how a gun is going to work. Just have a little patience and we will all get to find out about it when it launches.

Since I like speculation (it's the most fun part of a new Nerf blaster for me) I'm going to take your advice and take my conversation to NerfHQ, I'll save here for things more like talk about the actual gun and modifications, not what we think it will be.

Well I just thought I'd post something I think is useful to the community before this thread gets potentially closed. I think that '08-09 could possibly be one of the greatest lines of nerf guns ever. So far what they've done with the Recon astounded many of us. So I think the only thing we can do is sit back and wait patiently to see how these monsters will turn out. So my word of advice to all you trigger happy speculators. Go take a cold shower and mod a gun. The time will pass much quicker.
