The moment I heard about the vulcan i needed to do more. So i did some research and when i say research i mean google and this what i came up with

NERF N-STRIKE VULCAN EBF-25

The top-of-the-line blaster for mission supremacy, the NERF N-STRIKE VULCAN EBF-25 blaster is a 25-dart belt-fed fully automatic blaster that will intimidate any opponent. This impressive blaster comes complete with a fold-up tripod to steady your aim, 25 sonic micro darts that whistle through the air when launched and a 25-dart belt. The NERF N-STRIKE VULCAN EBF-25 blaster features the Tactical Rail System allowing players to customize their blaster for each mission - for example, players can use the green 'night vision' Tactical Light accessory (sold separately) for nighttime missions. Six "D" batteries are required but not included. (Ages 6 years & up/Approximate Retail Price: $39.99/Available: Fall 2008)

The little critters of nature, they don't know that they're ugly. That's very funny, a fly marrying a bumble bee. I told you I'd shoot, but you didn't believe me. Why didn't you believe me?

But good find, joey. The saga begins.

Well, it comes on a tripod, if it is good I can imagine it being a highly effective weapon for capture the flag, humans vs. zombies, and assassins. Let's hope it is air powered and not battery powered, that is if (big if) the 6-D batteries are only used for advancing the belt.

Sounds like a bitch to mod. Do they even MAKE D cells anymore?

Doesn't sound very mod-friendly or stefan-friendly. But good find, and it sounds like THE weapon to have for stock wars.

Haha. I'm probably going to have more fun than I should with this thing. My only worry is the tripod. It's probably going to be plastic and very crappy. But that's why we have thrift stores... for better tripods..

Yeah I'm not spending $40 on an electronic nerf gun.

Also if it's air powered, and uses a belt clip, chances are they will be a bladder.
If there is no bladder it will fire all the darts at once which is pretty gay.

I'd think that with 6 D batteries that it would be like the mech tommy 20, in the case that it fires, and rotates, execpt at a much faster rate. because if 3 tripple A's worked for about 15 feet and did that, then the Vulcan should in theory be better.

This might have promise. All ye Rambo fans are going to like it.
Might fit in well at the local ZvH games, especially with the bad rule changes the council is making.
Time to start dreaming up new integrations...

Has anyone else noticed that the letter/digit combo at the end of the names of N-STRKE Blasters usually say the type of gun, and the amount of ammo it holds? examples:

CS-6: Clip Shooter-6 darts
REV-8: Revolver-8 darts
EBF-25: Electronically Belt Fed-25 darts

Back on topic, this thing sounds like a mini-beast. Might be hard to mod.

I don't know if that's such an accurate theory. You have to remember no battery power in the MT20 is wasted going into rotation, seeing as how it is semi-automatic and rotates using a mechanism. The Vulcan is automatic, meaning the batteries almost definitely control the mechanism which moves the belt too, so not all the power of the 6-D batteries is going into firing the darts.

Anyways, I can already see it, people making super long belts and mounting this thing on top of a structure and just raining darts down upon everyone.

If we get REALLY lucky, we might be able to convert the chains back to chainblazer/rototrack/razorbeast usage!

I am so pumped! I nerf indoors mostly, so I don't need to worry as much about modding. This gun's gonna be awesome!

EDIT: I just clicked in the link to that article, and for some reason I found the "HELMET HEROES" bit to be extremely funny, mostly because of the name.

HELMET HEROES...

I truly hope that this uses some sort of mechanism where the power or rate of recharge, or SOMETHING is based on battery voltage. Mainly because if something is rated to handle nine volts (6 x 1.5V), then there is a good likelihood that it can be retrofitted to run on twelve, 14.4, or maybe even more.

Why, Hasbro? Why have you forsaken the us? And not only us, but all the children of the world...(except maybe children of those involved in the battery industry).

This is just a Magstrike with a chain. The only difference is the BELT is electronically fed. If the firing mech was battery powered, it wouldn't be full auto, it would be Semi.

I am looking forward to using this in assassin and stock wars alike. My Recon may just have to be content as a sidearm starting in the fall.

This thing may not have a lot of modding potential, but it will be crazy fun if we could connect the chains together especially since no pumping would be required.

As much as I dislike the idea of batteries, it does make the gun more useful, in ways. If you just make a REALLY long belt, there wouldn't be a limit to how long you could keep shooting it. It would be like an extended clip magstrike, but with an infinite bladder (battery).
