#244312 Supermaxx 1000 Modifications

Posted by white moonlight on 28 July 2009 - 09:45 AM in Modifications

Wow this a sweet.

This is a very nice mod to the SM1K.

It's a very nice mod and a good writeup.

Have you tested ranges with PETG yet?

#244193 Community-wide Mod Contest

Posted by white moonlight on 27 July 2009 - 03:39 PM in News

I have not seen any pics of the bbb that the contest winner would be receaving are there ever going to be any pictures?

No. Well not of a BBB at least. Slug is modding an SM1.5k for the winner now.

Also I don't think the winner on nerfhaven has been determined yet, let alone the winner from all 3 major
forums.

#244142 Ram-rod Singled Vs. Breech Singled?

Posted by white moonlight on 27 July 2009 - 10:43 AM in Modifications

You can also just use a speedloader for ALL playstyles.

#244139 Ram-rod Singled Vs. Breech Singled?

Posted by white moonlight on 27 July 2009 - 09:59 AM in Modifications

If you're using a breeched gun you get:

PROS:
1. Quicker ROF

2. You don't have to carry around a ram-rod, (even though it's obviously not a major problem just figured I
throw that out there).

CONS:
1. Worse seal.

2. Slightly worse range.

If youre using a singled gun you get:

PROS:
1. Perfect seal (depending on which gun you use).

2. Slightly better range.

3. It's cheaper, (unless of course you use a brass singled barrel).

CONS:
1. Slow ROF

2. You have to carry around a ram rod, (even though it's obviously not a major problem just figured I'd throw that out there).

What gun do you plan on putting,

A: The breech on.
B: The singled barrel on.

#244059 Lanard Shot Gun

Posted by white moonlight on 26 July 2009 - 06:48 PM in Modifications

Dude, take a shot at making the gun rear loading.

I do understand it could be a challenging process, but it would definetly be worth the risk. I also understand
that you could mess up and risk breaking the gun, but like I said before it would be worth it and a lot better than having to ramm down all the darts.

First of all ramming darts tremendously decreases rate of fire and it makes not only slower, but a lot harder to
use.

Also it looks very nice and if you don't make it rear loading your the only one that needs to deal with loading
it, the decreased rate of fire, and difficulty to load, not us.

#244044 Zoom-o Ball Titan Barrel

Posted by white moonlight on 26 July 2009 - 04:51 PM in Modifications

Instead of changing both the barrel and ammo you just changed the ammo.

That looks like a great ball launcher.

Try and find a way that you can load in like 3 Zoom o balls and have them advance as you shoot kind of like a
pump action shotgun.

#244011 Hornet Shuttle Valve Mod, By Split

Posted by white moonlight on 26 July 2009 - 12:30 PM in Modifications

This does greatly improve the stock blaster.

It also greatly improves basic mods for this blaster, and even some advanced mods.

It looks like a great job, and this gun should be very useful in war.

That thing would look sweet with a paintjob.

Have you been to any wars with it yet?

#243997 Pretty And Removable Pump-action Recon Mod

Posted by white moonlight on 26 July 2009 - 09:51 AM in Modifications

This is a very clean mod.

This really isn't very related to the topic, (the actual shotgun grip) but does the recon have any mods done to
it?

I also second the fact that the only dislike I have to this mod is the fact that you have to salvage another recon
to complete it.

#243696 Splitfinder 2000

Posted by white moonlight on 24 July 2009 - 08:13 PM in Modifications

Holy crap that is amazing.

The concept is great.

So what if it's not the cleanest gun inthe world. It works.

#243667 Big Bad Bow Shotgun Style Very Large Pictures

Posted by white moonlight on 24 July 2009 - 07:17 PM in Modifications

Very nicely done.

It looks very good and I love the paintjob.

Also in the beginning of the mod you said that instead of pushing it to prime you pull it. It may just be me but
to prime the BBB you pull it back and then it's primed. Do you mean just the motion of pushing it back in and
then pulling it out again, or was it just a typo?

#243626 Guess The Amount.

Posted by white moonlight on 24 July 2009 - 04:18 PM in Off Topic

$256.47

#243541 Lanard Sawed Off Hand Cannon Modifitcation

Posted by white moonlight on 24 July 2009 - 11:07 AM in Modifications

That's sweet.

These guns look like they have A LOT of potential.

I really want to get one.

Do you have any plans for a paintjob?

#243537 Bbb,at3k,nf,smdt

Posted by white moonlight on 24 July 2009 - 10:50 AM in Modifications

That's great.

I really like the paintjob.

Did you consider sanding down the excess epoxy?

#243525 Forward-facing Bbbb Pump

Posted by white moonlight on 24 July 2009 - 09:13 AM in Modifications

Does the pump move back and forth?

If it does you should secure it somehow in the most comforatable spot.

#243523 Modular Rscb'd Bbbb

Posted by white moonlight on 24 July 2009 - 09:01 AM in Modifications

I just made an RSCB attatchment for my big blast, and to avoid shotgunning I had to use Angels beige foam
in CPVC.

#243413 Maverick Double, Triple Barrel.

Posted by white moonlight on 23 July 2009 - 08:51 PM in Modifications

Holy mavericks, that is absolutely awesome.

Also back to the mod, it should be easy to replicate because you have a good writeup.

The only problem is Split already did this.

yes. i did mention split.
its not really a problem
i thank split for his mod

Sorry, I missed that part.

#243401 Maverick Double, Triple Barrel.

#243163 "singled" Longshot With An Inline Clip

Posted by white moonlight on 22 July 2009 - 12:42 PM in Modifications

The gun in a whole seems like it functions well.

You may want to find a way to work out the little problems.

Ranges would be nice though.

I mean I know ranges vary.

It depends on:

1. If you angle it.
a How much you angle it.
b If it's shot flat.
2. How tall you are.
3. Your dart barrel fit.
4 The wind.
5. Obviously the power of your blaster.

Though you can still take the range and give us an idea.

EDIT: Sorry you posted your ranges while I was in the middle of posting this.

#243109 The Official Sticker/logo Thread

Posted by white moonlight on 21 July 2009 - 10:53 PM in Modifications

I'm pretty sure you could take the gun apart. Take the shell with the sticker on it. Soak it in water, and peel
the sticker off.

Thanks for the suggestion Moonlight, but I can certainly vouch that in my experience this is not a good idea. This type of sticker (which are the same as the ones on the E-a-B ) are very much like paper. They may have had a coating at some point, but it's most likely long gone if there ever was. On the E-a-B, all the water was able to do (even when just simply trying to scrub them off after they were ruined) was to soften the paper itself.

I think our best hope would be some way to loosen the glue's hold, but I havent the foggiest on a good way to do this.

Sorry for the bad advice :D

I've had no past experience with the secret strike 1 at all.

I do know that method works with other stickers though so...

#243108 Homemade Arrows

Posted by white moonlight on 21 July 2009 - 10:49 PM in Darts and Barrels

Have you experimented with a pointy tip?

The only reason I ask this is because I think there may be an good increase in the arrows range consider the
pointy tip would makethe arrow a good amount more aerodinamic.

One way you might be able to do this is by molding and folding the craft foam into a cone like shape and fill it
with hot glue.

I haven't yet.

That could be one way, although I fear it might be structurally unsound and a little heavy (all that hot glue).

I'll look around for something, maybe at the craft store or my hardware store tomorrow

It doesn't neccesarily have to be filled with hot glue either.

1. Take the craft foam.
2. Rap bend it into a cone shape.
3. Secure into that shape with small amounts of light weight tape.
4. Fill tip with A LITTLE hot glue.
5. Coat the bottom of the ring of the cone with zap-a-gap.
6. Stick it on the end.
7. Then possibly if the bond is not strong enough put SMALL amounts of hot glue.

If you follow this, and it actually works out you should have lesss weight and more aerodynamicy then the other design.

#243082 The Official Sticker/logo Thread

Posted by white moonlight on 21 July 2009 - 10:04 PM in Modifications

Does anybody have any ideas for preserving stickers?

I have a beautiful Secret Shot 1 with near pristine stickers on it, and want them to last. Seeing as this Blaster is 15 years old I'm pretty sure they won't hold up to much abuse.

As a precaution, I'll be working on getting a good scan of them, in case anyone wants them (or I eff them up and need new ones). This brings another question. Has a conclusion been reached about how to safely remove old stickers like these, or is it better to scan whilst the stickers are still on the blaster? The set on my E-a-B weren't very nice, but attempting to remove them thoroughly ruined them, and that was technically even younger than the SS1.

I'm pretty sure you could take the gun apart. Take the shell with the sticker on it. Soak it in water, and peel
the sticker off.

I am not sure if this is the right way to do it so don't unless someone else confirms it, but I'm pretty sure it would work.

#243062 Homemade Arrows

Posted by white moonlight on 21 July 2009 - 08:27 PM in Darts and Barrels

Have you experimented with a pointy tip?

I don't mean pointy like sharp, but like the shape of an ice cream cone, (ICE CREAM  )

The only reason I ask this is because I think there may be an good increase in the arrows range consider the
pointy tip would makethe arrow a good amount more aerodinamic.

One way you might be able to do this is by molding and folding the craft foam into a cone like shape and fill it

#243023 Stormfire Optimzation

Posted by white moonlight on 21 July 2009 - 04:33 PM in Modifications

Between 3 feet and 14 miles.

Wow 14 miles with a good dart.
Whats your dart barrel fit, (serious question and a joke all at the same time ;) )?

#243008 Stormfire Optimzation

Posted by white moonlight on 21 July 2009 - 03:57 PM in Modifications

Holy crap.

That is absolutely amazing!

Your paintjobs and writeups are some of the best on nerfhaven.

I am especially loving this paintjob.

I'm excited for the next episode of "Dizzy mods something!"

#242924 Homemade Arrows

Posted by white moonlight on 20 July 2009 - 08:56 PM in Darts and Barrels

Nice homeade arrow and also nice... writeup.

#242874 The Fomebow - Extensive Bow And Arrow Makeover.

Posted by white moonlight on 20 July 2009 - 04:12 PM in Modifications

Dude those missles pack a punch.

Also have you tried the gun with a regular RSCB, (not with the plug on the end)?

#242829 Dt Furyfire: A Peak Inside

Posted by white moonlight on 20 July 2009 - 10:02 AM in General Nerf

Damn Bob you don't waist no time. Here is my prototype.
Posted Image

See that looks great.

The revers plunger is solved right there with that air tank.

That looks very clean I would also like to see a close up of the trigger conection.

#242807 Power Stocked Eliminator.

Posted by white moonlight on 19 July 2009 - 09:59 PM in Modifications

Alright, sorry for the double post but, I just realized that the hole in the back of the slider bar just wasn't
cutting is so I had to completely cut off the back.

The only down fall of this part is the fact that it only leaves you one screw post, (I'm gonna try and figure out
that problem later.)

I also added E-tape on the plunger tube, behind the spring, similar to what is done to the recon, to increase
power.

I don't know how much the power was increased seeing as it is pitch black outside and have absolutely no way
of doing a range test, (I will hopefully update this tommorrow).

Thanks for all the great feedback keep it coming!

#242475 Dt Furyfire: A Peak Inside

Posted by white moonlight on 17 July 2009 - 06:37 PM in General Nerf

What if you were to "manta" (stupid term, but it gets the message through) and put a PVC handle between the priming grips, so that way you reload them both with one prime, that with a plunger tube replacement and you have a 20-shot 50-foot-or-so plastic diddle machine!

Yeah we have to keep positive and think of all the great ways to mod this gun, like the above ^^.

20 shots, 50 feet... That would be good!

Also reverse plungers can still be modded and this particular gun seems that it may be able to get a
spring replacement.

#242258 Dt Furyfire: A Peak Inside

Posted by white moonlight on 16 July 2009 - 03:35 PM in General Nerf

They're already in stores.

Nice find. It is quite unfortunate that it is a bigger maverick:(

Yeah it's just a bigger maverick in shell size, but smaller in plunger tube size.

#242247 Dt Furyfire: A Peak Inside

Posted by white moonlight on 16 July 2009 - 03:27 PM in General Nerf

Is that a reverse plunger.

Lets still keep our finger crossed that it's better than a maverick.

Nice job getting ahold of one.

#242237 Dart Tag 3k

Posted by white moonlight on 16 July 2009 - 02:49 PM in Modifications

Great job now all it needs is a sweet paintjob.

Is this gun accurate?

Also is that paint on the trigger, and turret?

#242175 Breeched Supermaxx 500.

Posted by white moonlight on 16 July 2009 - 07:10 AM in Modifications

Nice job.

Can't wait to see the ranges, finished product, and paintjob.

That is a sad story.

#242174 Tech Target Overhaul

Posted by white moonlight on 16 July 2009 - 07:05 AM in Modifications

I just recently made a tech target and it has been completely failing.

It's nice to know, (if I need to) that there is a way to almost completely redo the internals.

Also it is very, very clean.

Do you have any plans for a paintjob?

Also what is the point of cutting the second notch into the plunger rod.
Possibly a second catch, or something, (similar to a plusbow).

#241956 Pa War

Posted by white moonlight on 14 July 2009 - 06:04 PM in Nerf Wars

I now can not make it :P

Have a great war though.

#241947 Expand A Blast, By Sublimedom777

Posted by white moonlight on 14 July 2009 - 03:31 PM in Modifications

Just wondering....Since this blaster can accept long shot clips will it also accept the raider drum magazine. If so, this will definitely be a mod I will be doing.

Yeah I would assume it could, but it may need some extra support because the drum mag has to be a good
amount heavier.

Also you HAVE to make the clip accept stefans, (if you haven't already).

#241804 Expand A Blast, By Sublimedom777

Posted by white moonlight on 13 July 2009 - 09:29 PM in Modifications

Very nicely done and the clip is a great addition too.

What are the ranges?

#241541 Flood Light Mod, A Jumping Nacho Production

Posted by white moonlight on 11 July 2009 - 09:18 PM in Modifications

Yeah a picture in a dark room would really help.

#241532 Power Stocked Eliminator.

Posted by white moonlight on 11 July 2009 - 08:49 PM in Modifications

Spectacular work, I especially love the sparkly hot glue. =P

Haha thanks. B)

I was really hoping this thread wasn't going to dye.

Keep the feedback coming!

#241510 The Fomebow - Extensive Bow And Arrow Makeover.

Posted by white moonlight on 11 July 2009 - 07:36 PM in Modifications

Nicely done, and great writeup.

I'm hoping to get ahold of one of these soon seing as they have potential.
