For anyone looking for a way to remove the AR, I'm pretty sure I have found an easier way to do it. On my longshot, the piece of the bolt that is inside the plunger chamber, and pushes the plunger back, is in two pieces. one has the AR connected to it, and the other is connected to the bolt. Just pull out the inner part, and the AR should come out completely. I'm waiting for the crowds to die down so I can get a new longshot to check this out, but in the mean time, that might be the way to go.
EDIT: Ignore all that, go back to your needlenose pliers. It don't work...
