A Nerf Sledgefire that has been modded to fire a single dart at a time (or two if i load 2 in), and it has been swirl painted with a green/black/white enamel swirl with gray detailing.

20170307_205608.jpg

A pic with the breech open, I wasnt too happy with how the silicone triangle turned out but it works and seals on the pvc barrel nicely. The 9/16 brass inside the pvc has tightening rings around it so it will hold the dart snug without it falling out the barrel. This blaster can fire elites and stefans alike. Hope you all enjoy this mod as much as i did!

Mods Done:

  • Air restrictor removal
  • Singled down brass barrel nested within 1/2" PVC
  • Home Depot Evrbuilt spring instead of stock spring
  • shortened shell release and relocated shell release spring
  • stock removed (not sure if that counts as a mod but whatever)
  • locks removed
  • plunger padding with packing foam
  • re lubrication with white lithium grease

Final Ranges: 80-95 ft (Angled) 70-80 ft (PTG) with FVJ Darts

Modded Nerf Retaliator with a OMW stage 2 kit installed. It was painted with a fishnet camo design using an airbrush and tamiya paints (flat earth, german grey, dark green) and i used various stencils for the fonts on the sides and the "Dont tread on me" snake on the left side of the blaster.I also weathered it to make it look chipped and rusted. I put the required orange tip because it looked waaaaay too much like a firearm even with the orange mag releases. definetly still going to keep it away from outdoor wars with my friends because of how much it looks like a firearm even with the orange tip. Hope you guys like it!

20170307_205537.jpg

pic of the right side

~just noticed after posting, that the pictures are very dark it is actually a much brighter colored camo but i took these pictures at night in my room with low lighting. you have to kinda zoom in to see the stenciled stuff and rust weathering. :P sry bout dat

Mods Done:

  • OMW stage 2 kit installed
  • GavinFuzzyCustoms Retaliator Pump Grip
  • OMW 5 kg spring upgrade
  • metal reinforcement plate in the back of the blaster
  • re lubrication with white lithium grease

Final Ranges: 70-95 ft (Angled) 70-80 ft (PTG) with FVJ darts

This is the first paint job I have ever done on a Nerf blaster. I like the look and feel of the Hyperfire and of course the very fast full auto. Running Solarbotics 130 motors and a Venom 2S lipo (so large it takes up the whole battery tray) this thing is fast. Waiting on Artifact flywheel cage and flywheels in the mail so this is only shooting about 70' tops right now. Empties the 25 dart magazine in just under 5 seconds.

Nice paint on that Hyperfire! Protip, RM2 motors are rated for 4.5volts; which means your running them too hot and they'll eventually fry and fail.

I'd recommend a nice pair of Honey Badger motors, they're great motors and are designed to run on a 2s lipo.

Here are some suck-less Hyperfire cages, it's worth gettine one printed if you want to have any kind of meaningful performance.

Just another Flywheelers, not a Stryfe this time!

Honeybadgers, 2s, minivoltmeter, 15A microswitch, 18awg rewire.

130fps.

I tried honeybadgers, they don't recover fast enough for the stock belt drive motor on a 2S. I switched to the blade 180s and am getting a better result. Make sure your lipo is at least 20C continues or run the pusher on its own battery. Also, if you are looking into using this for hvz or nerf wars, you should wire up the pusher to motor brake so that you stand a chance of getting small bursts when needed. The stock motor without braking, on a 2s will spit out 4 or 5 shots on even the shortest of trigger pulls

Hello again, fellow Nerf-hoarders!

May I present my latest creations - a mirror-matched pair of firestrikes, for the dual-wielders among us.

tdNOFAc.jpg

Minimal weathering on these guys - mainly because I don't think I've ever not dry-brushed my creations to death ... mostly to hide imperfections in the paintwork, if I'm honest - and I was quite happy with how clean they came out looking.

First ever paintjob:

That's really impressive, great body work.

I'm usually averse to posting kit-work, but this Reconcilator has been really fine-tuned.

I bored out the Artifact retaliator piston to an inner diameter of 10mm, uses a 20 cm "long" barrel. Has a 100 ml syringe plunger tube (same diameter as an LS, just no tapering), modified stock piston with LS plunger head, Gavinfuzzy-designed muzzle, OMW Recon metal boltsled, Artifact metal trigger, modified f10555 pump grip with Lowes inserts glued into the boltsled (the ones with the kit broke). Powered by Worker Stampede 9kg and Nerfturf 10kg springs. Extensive internal reinforcements. Shoots through cardboard with slugs.

Working on a 16kg Sonic Green as well.

Finished this today, I'd been meaning to make myself a proper NIC grade pistol for a while now as my firestrikes just weren't cutting it.
wRHUnmO.jpg

It's a TTG (First Gen I believe? The lighter green one) with a [k26] and cpvc coupler on it, with a relocated plunger tube to give more draw. I'm not sure how far I moved it forwards, but the plunger head is at the very end of the plunger tube when at full draw, and the head just barely touches the front of the tube when at zero draw. It hits like an absolute truck and I'm very happy with it. I made three identical speedloaders it, each with twin six inch barrels. Most guys would kill for just 6", but I've got 36. I'm pretty sure that's how that works, right? We're all talking about barrels here I'm pretty sure. Definitely.

Why three speedloaders? Good question hypothetical internet person! So I can do this:

O2DgOXo.jpg

1/2" cpvc fits perfectly in the bottom two dart holders and won't fall out when I'm running, so I can keep 4 extra pre-loaded shots on me during pistol rounds in order to minimize vulnerable reloading time. Of course if I'm using it as a secondary I'll just use one speedloader for the sake of putting it in a pocket or holstering it.

nub on the breech still curing but initial tests show this is a winner of a longstrike! breech designed for full and half length darts, few more tweaks and it will be boxed up for its new home in the SENC. I put a wye in my original but this commission is coming out sooooo clean I am going to definitely revisit that blaster! I will soon be also doing one for someone with a sonic. The cleanliness of the internals makes it all the more exciting! I will try to toss together a full write up at the end!

Second paintjob:

OzGAw9z.jpg

BoomCo Halo M6 definitely inspired by this one by Killingjarstudios, but with the logos sanded off and voids filled in. Also has an ACE #49 and a plugged dart-detector; hits about as hard as I'd imagine a TTG with a [k26] in it does. I don't mind carrying a few dozen boomco rounds for the accuracy they grant, but should the supply dry up I'll swap it over to a CPVC barrel.

Hello again :)

As an experiment, I decided to see just how far I could push this salt-mask rust look.

I started with an undercoat of rust brown, and then another coat on top of that, but while it was still wet, I sprinkled it liberally with sea salt from a grinder so that it set into the paint, and then a coat of matt aluminium on top of that. When the aluminium was dry I rinsed the salt away with warm water. The pitted, speckled look I was hoping for came through perfectly.

2qrQ7CK.jpg

I then masked the bits i wanted red with tape, and then used rock salt in the usual way to achieve the chipped paint appearance (the more I think about this, the more I am convinced that I should have dropped the rock salt onto the aluminium while it was wet. That way it seems to give a much sharper finish, and as I found with the rust-base, it's also a lot easier to manage than the usual method of trying to affix it with water. Next time...), more masking and a bit of dry-brushed matt black for the handle and the muzzle, and finally, all of the aluminium and red parts got an all-over wash with a combination of rust-brown and grime.

jTTnDcQ.jpg

Alterations to the bodywork include; the rails (mostly) removed, the dart holder was chopped out, and the redundant iron-sight from above the muzzle are all gone. I also filled in the logo roundels and the  grill in the back of the grip for extra streamlining.

Another relic dug up from Nerf's past!

Another one that I've had on the boil for a while - I had been waiting for the OMW kit to arrive before finishing this one off...

The Hammershot is by far my favourite nerf blaster. It has such a great shape and beautiful forms - all except for that grotesque bandage around the handle - so shaving down the grip was the first thing I did. There's a load of epoxy putty in there to keep it structurally sound. The rest is standard painting and the least amount of weathering that I could get away with.

The OMW kit went in without any problems - I'm loving the look and feel of the metal trigger and hammer, and the drum suits the look of the blaster even better than the original, in my opinion. And with the addition of the 8kg spring in it, this thing now fires like a cannon!

...and a few details...

Hope you like :)

I have been telling everyone about the wonders of Fauxbows, so here's my newest one, Angelhair.
I have coupled it with a 1/2 inch CPVC coupler, and made the rest of the barrel into an attachment for arrows. There ya go

Minimized Boomco m6

0k1p8Uz.jpg

Locks removed, vent plugged, [[k26]], paracord lanyard, gorilla tape for reinforcement.

All the functional parts of the m6 except the trigger are contained in the grey part of the shell, so I wanted to try getting rid of everything else. This is the end result. Hits just as hard as my full shell m6 with [[k26]], but it will fit in a front jeans pocket loaded and primed. Just push a finger into the notch with heavy pressure to release the catch mechanism.

My primary for everything.
Internal modifications:
AR removal
Strongarm spring added to the stock one
Padded plunger head
Lubed with Moen silicone lubricant
Pvc stock block
Gets 60-65 PTG, and 85-100 ANG, great for the indoor wars that I play.

A couple people have requested more info on my TTG, so here's some internal pictures.

The plunger tube is moved forward about 7/16", with hot glue holding it in place.

ufTgJWJ.jpg

Stock position:

OBifo2h.jpg

9la66zu.jpg

Moved forward:

iQDY71R.jpg

In the moved forward position, there is a little bit of shell bulging, up on top and visible through the trigger guard.

CRqXVIb.jpg

4e3d0CZ.jpg

I also made these marshmallow guns-turned-nerf-blasters:

2tf6aMI.jpg?1

The red one I bought at Goodwill for $2.99, and replaced the barrel. In stock form it has a sort of RSCB, and it will hold 5 full length darts, and feeds into a brass-into-PETG barrel. The tight brass allows a little bit of pressure to build up behind the dart, which it then releases through the PETG, almost like an air blaster. Before I added the PETG I was getting in between stock N-Strike and Stock N-Strike Elite velocities, but after I added the ~5" of PETG I'm now hitting modded Elite performance.

aNx9dQo.jpg

t20KHxC.jpg

VfPBhKw.jpg

The bow is couplered with the magazine/hopper tube plugged. Thats it. Through a 4" speedloader it's hitting about modified elite ranges.
