#151476 My Recon M16a4

Posted by xNFx 37 on 16 April 2008 - 06:26 PM in Modifications

Ooh, COD4 discussion.... *snickers*

I personally like love the M16A4 (surprise, surprise), the MP5, the M4 (!!!) and the G36.

On topic- I just finished making the stock. The epoxy will dry tomorrow, And I'll attach and paint it ASAP.

Nope, that's the stock tactical light. And, you can add a 'nade launcher on an M16. You can add it on in create a class, or there is one they made for you, as well.

You've been playing COD4 too many times. Still nice paintjob; but I don't think it deserves a new thread. you could have put it in the painting thread.

I did put it in the painting thread. Right now it's not much because it is stockless, and the clips aren't curved... but I'm getting started on that tomorrow.

Oh yeah, I do play COD4 too much. It's so fucking addicting awesome.

I don't see your "coupler" on your Techenstein. Obviously it's by the barrel, but that looks like the plunger. So, where is it?

There it is now. I'm making the new stock tomorrow. For any of you that don't know, R3unbreakable was making a topic on his M16A4 red tiger Recon. He hasn't updated since, so I figured I'd take off where he left it. I'll update it once I make the stock. I extended te barrel with the LS front gun barrel.

Posted Image

There is the fake Red dot I made out of a crossfire rail, a LS scope lens, and red sharpie :D . The pic doesn't do it justice.

This is my first PJ and replica ish gun.

One more blurry pic that makes it look cool...

Oh, I forgot to say, the Tactical light, is supposed to be the M203 grenade launcher. It, obviously can be attached/disattached.

EDIT- The big pics were so you can see the detail better.

#150891 Modifying A Longshot?

Posted by xNFx 37 on 13 April 2008 - 01:10 PM in Modifications

What is the highest strength spring that you can put into an LS without it breaking/having to reinforce the bolt sled?

And how can you reinforce the bolt sled if you needed to?

I'd say a BBB spring ALONE. not with the LS spring. OR a LS + 1st gen NF spring.

It's usually the Bolt sled, or the plastic part on the bolt that breaks. (The part that you put the metal pin through.)

#150860 Ls And Recon Show Off Thread

Posted by xNFx 37 on 13 April 2008 - 10:44 AM in Modifications

I think a NF spring could add 50 feet. The LS spring is so weak, I bet it has like, 1 lb. of force. Adding a 1st gen NF spring I don't doubt a 50 foot increase (it happened to me), but not with an EX-3.

#150828 The Future

Posted by xNFx 37 on 13 April 2008 - 07:11 AM in Off Topic

This sport is similar to Airsoft. You have wars with your "guns" and can modify them. We have around 12-13 thousand members on this site. True, half of them never posted, but whatever. We have had many contributers leave in the years. Rags has been gone for awhile, but it's not likely he'll stay. Since then many new members came along and made great contributions such as Sluggy, Angel, Carbon, just to name a few.

Anyways, when Airsoft was created, the first generation didn't die off, did they? Airsoftforums.com has like 50,000 members. I'm sure 1,000,000+ people airsoft, but when a few of their mods left, they were fine.

My point being, we're fine.

#150758 Crossbow Barrel Length?

Posted by xNFx 37 on 12 April 2008 - 08:07 PM in Modifications

For 17/32 brass, depending on the fit, I'd say 9-11 inches.

#150717 Yet Another Spring Question.

Posted by xNFx 37 on 12 April 2008 - 03:54 PM in Modifications

I've never heatd of an exploding NF You should be fine with 2 Handymans. I wouldn't reccomend 2 #49 though.

#150390 Maverick Speedloader Mod

Posted by xNFx 37 on 10 April 2008 - 04:12 PM in Modifications

By drilling larger holes, you are basically destroying the seal. The holes would be too big for the plunger end thingy. (The part that seals with the turret).

#150278 Dumb-ass Mistake With A Stock Dart..

Posted by xNFx 37 on 09 April 2008 - 07:00 PM in General Nerf

Is this the same brother that likes to "help" you with your mods? If it doesn't fit, that means you shouldn't keep going...

Anyways, you could rip the barrel off and risk breaking your gun. Or, you could use a bigger screw driver to open up your gun. That's what I had to do on my Ls. Last resort is drilling/dremeling through all the stripped screws.

#150273 Uh, Hi.

Posted by xNFx 37 on 09 April 2008 - 06:49 PM in Off Topic

Yeah, your mod got me into nerfing as well. I tried it with a crayola, but PETG'd it when I got some. Anyways, are you going to stick around for awhile? Spoon made a topic about his re-arrival, but hasn't posted since...

#150270 Maverick Speedloader Mod

Posted by xNFx 37 on 09 April 2008 - 06:35 PM in Modifications

There is still that whole face on the front of the turret preventing the speedloader going all the way it, basically you'd have to push it in more, if I'm looking at this correctly.

I made a speedloader for my 3K. I took a piece of wood a bit bigger thn the turret, and glues wood dowel around the piece of wood, lining up with the turret. So, you push the darts in the fron of your barrels, than use the speedloader to puah them the remainder of the way in, in one motion.

Sure it takes a tiny bit longer, but oh well. Props on hte idea, and big props if you make it.

#150053 Nerf Gun Malfunctions/breakages

Posted by xNFx 37 on 08 April 2008 - 03:34 PM in General Nerf

I have a mod to fix broken Mav/Xfire/Scouts tabs. Very easy/cool too. I'll post it on here wit hpics when get a chance. For now, it's words.

Take a NF/TTG plunger rod, and glue it on the back of the reverse plunger tube. (The tube with the catch and tab.) Cut a hole in the back of the case for the rod to fit through and you're done! It should look like a nite-mav or Cross-finder when done. Instead of the slide, you have a Nf plunger rod.

MY IDEA :D . I'll post it next week because i'm free then.

#149919 Disk Shot Modification

Posted by xNFx 37 on 07 April 2008 - 07:02 PM in Modifications

I think Carbon joined in 06. Nice mod nonethe less. But, couldn't you use 17/32 brass as the coupler and 9/16ths as the barrel, to act as a removeable nested brass barrel?

#149698 Cpvced Tek Six

Posted by xNFx 37 on 06 April 2008 - 05:23 PM in Modifications

You unscrew the turret, and take the sheath off, then cut the barrels off.

#149553 Airsoft Question

M14

Since M14's are the shit. That's what I'm getting. I'm liking it's range and accuracy, but since its a CA, it's gonna be very durable, correct?

#149551 Airsoft Question

Posted by xNFx 37 on 05 April 2008 - 08:48 PM in Off Topic

Alright, I've decided on either the Galaxy Mp5k, or the TM P90 with integrated Red-Dot.

for suggestions- Durability, accuracy, and range is my main concerns. More suggestions are welcome btw.

#149548 Airsoft Question

Posted by xNFx 37 on 05 April 2008 - 08:33 PM in Off Topic

I saw that Mp5k on airsoftgi. Keef showed me to a TM P90. $260. I can live with that. I'll be savin for a while :D. I'm guessing that's where you got your name from?

#149536 Airsoft Question

Posted by xNFx 37 on 05 April 2008 - 07:27 PM in Off Topic

Don't think I'm leaving nerf! I don't know anyone around me that nerfs, so I mod and test fire, for pleasure. I use airsoft so I can actually war, since all my friends have airsofts. I'm looking for a highly durable AEG, for $200 or less. I found Echo 1. Are they trusted/durable? I looked at Marui. I did find ONE Classic Army M15 on kapowwe.com for 135. Shoul I get that? I'll take any recomendations/help with my questions.

Thanks in advance.

PS- If you guys don't appreciate an airsoft topic on Nh, I'll be happy to delete if requested by an admin.

EDIT- On hobbytron.com Ifound a Full metal AKs-74 for a little over $100. This means everything is metal, resulting in great durability, correct?

#149449 Where To Buy Modding Materials

Posted by xNFx 37 on 05 April 2008 - 09:25 AM in Modifications

Home Depot foam used to be too big for even 9/16ths brass. My brand new batch is different: It is a tad
smaller than fa24 foam, but bigger than Ace foam. Batchs vary though.

#149143 Maverick Problem

Posted by xNFx 37 on 03 April 2008 - 07:27 PM in Modifications

Well no, It was working, but I opened it recently, then it stopped working. I probably did put the plunger in the wrong place. I've had it happen before thanks. I'll see if that's it.

#149141 Longshot Question/problem

Posted by xNFx 37 on 03 April 2008 - 07:24 PM in Modifications

I think it is the spring. It's too strong, which means the AR is restricting more airflow. Do a FA24 breach instead. It isn't that hard.

EDIT- A BBB spring should work just fine. It would work great with the LS spring too, with reinforcement.

#149126 The Maverick Problem Thread

Posted by xNFx 37 on 03 April 2008 - 05:44 PM in Modifications

Well, (obviously) my problem is that my turret won't seal with the plunger at all. I also did Forsaken's mod and it still doesn't work. I might have to look into a new turret (for my nite-mav).

#149114 Maverick Problem

Posted by xNFx 37 on 03 April 2008 - 04:48 PM in Modifications

Yes, the dreaded Maverick. Yes, ANOTHER "My mav is sukcxing!" thread. I know the problem though.

I did Ice's mod mav mod for a removable clip. It worked for a long time. But recently, The plunger won't even make contact with the turret. It's a least a mm or 2 away from it. It worked for a while, should I just play around with it for a while? I plan on doing a Nite-Mav, but not if the turret is screwed.

#149112 Modding Basics

Posted by xNFx 37 on 03 April 2008 - 04:37 PM in Modifications

Green riptide, you pretty much explained it, but the technical difference from CPVC to PVC is that PVC measures the ID only, but CPVC measures the whole diameter, inner and outer, combined. Just a little something to add. And GR, you're right, CPVC does have a tighter fir on most darts. But I can say that for a gun like the titan, I put a 1/2 inch PVC barrel, (attaches to a coupler and has a dart stop), for stock darts, like Micros, PVC is good, because you can put them all the way at the back of the barrel easily, and they are MUCH more accurate when they are a long ways down the barrel.

PVC doesn't go by ID. Neither does CPVC go by OD. 1/2 PVC has an ID of like .62. The OD of CPVC is .625 (5/8).

#149108 Petg Breech?

Posted by xNFx 37 on 03 April 2008 - 04:19 PM in Modifications

If you're lucky enough to find PETG at your local aquarium/pet shop, their PETG is like brass, it slide right over eachother. Get 9/16ths, it's the same inner diameter of 17/32 brass, and use 5/8 as the breach mover thing.

#149106 Modding Basics

Posted by xNFx 37 on 03 April 2008 - 04:15 PM in Modifications

CPVC almost fits in PVC, so your answer is no. If you wanted to use PVC, you have to use megas, unless you nest something in it. CPVC, is already a really good fit on CDTS size stefans.

#149033 Longshot Question/problem

Posted by xNFx 37 on 03 April 2008 - 06:02 AM in Modifications

No, it's your dart tooth. I don't thinkk it's fixable though. I have this same problem with my recon. The dart goes over the dart tooth rather than being oushed to the back of the bolt.

#148959 Dartsmithing Tips Archive

Posted by xNFx 37 on 02 April 2008 - 09:04 PM in Darts and Barrels

I put my hair dryer on high heat and high air flow. I keep it in there for 1.5-2 minutes. Be sure to mix around the darts though.
