'sup. Finished my new Maverick paint job a couple weeks ago, but I just haven't taken any pics yet. Did that today.
I did a hell of job for my second painting, I must say! I'm learning more and more about what makes a good paint job, there are a couple minor mistakes that you can't see, but I've overcome all problems and now it shoots a good 40-55 feet, depending on the angle!
It has a lot of standard mods, ar removal, petg barrels, straw mod, overall seal improvement, slightly stronger than stock spring, generous use of silicon lubricant, plasti-dip grip, and a weighted handle for even better spinning action.
The paint itself was a vinyl dye primer, grey, then masked and sprayed metallic blue, black, and silver. I had a lot of problems with masking and paint bleeding with this one, it took me quite a while to finish this, with all the taping and whatnot. As you can see, the gun itself was weathered before it was painted, then finished with a 'dirty' look. I read through as much as I could on painting, and pulled together a few tips here and there, but I hardly found a decent resource. Any additional direction on painting will be appreciated, as a lot of the old links in various paint threads are now dead. The RPF forum shows you nothing unless you're a member anymore and it isn't easy to get a membership.
