Ok tooldorks, I am pushing my luck and setting a date for a SECOND summer war in MN!  Will this be SPANO 2?  No.  Will it rule so hard? Absolutely!
 
When: SUNDAY July 24th, 9AM-3PM (or later).
Location: Highland Park (again)!  This time in the area adjacent to the pavilion and not the entrance area.

Games and order for the day:
- Meatgrinder: warm-up round
- Rescue the Princess (CTF variant)
- Defend the Pit (DTC variant)
- Mario Kart ( will involve balloons)
- Terratories ( write-up coming)
- Lunch ( if they day is unsafely hot we will end here)
- Carpe ( with optimized bucket and respawns)
- twin-core DTC ( what we played at SPANO)

Bans: The usual AND 4B’s without their stock OPRV.  An STV4B style-blaster is fine, as it has the stock OPRV.  I spent most of SPANO with a pump-replaced 4B, my fave if not signature blaster, and will not be bringing it.
Darts: Slugs.  If you feel you have a case then PM.
 
Some Details
-Darts: bring like 400.  Seriously.  I will sell or trade you darts if you want, I have Ace foam and Pink MHA foam and plenty of time.
-Blasters: bring like 5.  If you bring 2 primaries and a Mav you will end up with the Mav by the end of the day, it ALWAYS seems to happen.
-Bring water, I am glad that we drank the 20+ bottles that I brought because that means people were doing what they should be doing: hydrating!

Sweet. I should be able to make it again- also I will see about bringing another cooler full of pop to share(shouldn't be a problem- spent less then $10 on it last time). also will try for some better slugs(i was using some of those almost stock length slug darts). I will let Kanashimi and his group know in case he doesn't lurk the forums anymore.

Great, I knew it was a good idea to start on a 2-11 immediately. I should be there, and hopefully with the three I was with before.

If this can get to the same scale as SPANO, I will be quite pleased.

Damn. I'll be deep in the Canadian wilderness until the 30th. Hopefully my friend that came to SPANO will be there, with all of my stuff. And if anyone could bring ~10ft of medium wall PETG I would (probably) love to purchase it, through her. Scratch that. She won't be coming.

Update: Archangel should be bringing about three people, and we have an additional 2 who would be able to drive themselves possibly interested.

I'm in, as usual. I'll be on a trip during the week leading up to the war, and I probably won't have access to my phone or the internet at all until a day or two before this war happens. Just letting ya'll know why I won't be in touch with any of you in that time.

I would like to come, as would my brother and possibly one of his friends I think. My current primary is a 3DBBQ style blaster, which is likely to be far too powerful with any kind of darts (unless I made some vinyl-tape-head darts like the doods in Taiwan use), but I'd be more than happy to fire marshmallows if people would be content with that. Would you allow that? Also, will there be a build party?

Also, you mentioned "the usual bans." I haven't been to a Nerf war since our failed attempt in December, so is it still what I think it is? Basically, no singled Titans, no plugged 4Bs, no Pulse-anythings with any number of barrels, right?

EDIT: and if mallows are nixed then I would really really like to buy a pile o' darts from you. In which case a pre-war hangout may be required to test them out.

EDIT2: I will bring a couple coolers of water and/or soda for sharing if people are chill with that.

If your gun is too powerful you can just borrow one from someone else. Also I can get you some darts. We could do a build party at my house if no one else wants to host one.

I doubt I'd be able to host a build party right before the war, as I plan on coming back from Florida the night before. Not to say that it needs to be at my house, that's just our preferred location. I'm definitely up for hosting before I leave on my trip, so it'd be a bit over a week before the war happens.

Only, with a few wraps of 26AWG Kynar under the tape to give it a tad more weight. Seems like it could be safer than slugs.

@Arfink - bring the 3dbbq, if it shoots over 110' then we'll declare it a showpiece. But bring it because I would love to see your design

@Arfink - make your asphyxiation darts, I will have near a thousand and can sell or trade you plenty on the spot.

Though I would love all kinds of mod parties all weekend days and almost all weekdays are a no go for me but I fully endorse them.

Alright, count me in. I requested the day off work and my boss said yes, so I'll be there. "Fun Size" (my 3DBBQ gun) will be coming with me, as well as a pile of whatever else I can rig up beforehand. I am also working on a "Fun Size 2" for shooting balls, which will hopefully be ready by then for show and tell.

The blue dots are the defenders' spawn points, the farther out red dots are the attackers spawn points, the core will be a 5' diameter inflatable kiddy pool.

About how far from the core would the blue points be? Depending on how well spawning works in this game type, it should be extremely fun. Attacking the core from all sides will be interesting.

Also, we will need to figure out mobstacles. Fun was really improved when those were set up.

Can't say anything for sure until we test it, but I feel like the red spawns will need to be something like 150' maybe even 200' feet out, because otherwise the attackers will just be taking angled potshots from their base.

I don't think the blue spawns matter quite as much as long as they aren't right next to the pool, so the defenders aren't just screening from their spawns.

Looks cool. I have no idea how that game is played, so I'm just going to nod and say "cool cool." I have a bunch of blasters all of which I am fairly sure will be far too powerful. Lol.
