If any of you need to test that foam out, you may have picked up some of my darts at highland park. They are black with white felt tips. If you can make it out to the park itself, there are still a few laying around from January; I picked some up last week and they still shoot great even after sitting in the snow for a month.
Here's a link to hereticorp's sales page for more information. It's quite a bit wider than the foam that a lot of you use; as hereticorp says:
Quote
The foam fits:
Thick Wall PETG - Perfect tight fit
9/16" Brass - Nice fit, tiny bit loose
17/32" Brass - Very tight fit, probably won't work without a little stretching
CPVC - Tight fit, might need stretching for a good fit
SCH 80 PVC - Perfect Fit.
I've been getting very good results using PETG and 9/16 in airguns. Using felt/washer darts, I have compared it
the foam blacksunshine uses (which is similar in diameter),
SwiFTNerF's white foam (which is quite a bit smaller in diameter), the local Ace hardware stuff (which is slightly smaller), and the local home depot stuff (which is also slightly smaller). This stuff is consistently neck-in-neck with blacksunshine's foam, and outperforms the others. Preliminary tests suggest that it shoudl work well in springers using 9/16 brass with tightening rings, but I need to test it more.
Some caveats:
It is
very tight in CPVC, to the point that it is hard to get the darts in all the way. I'm actually making a PVC coupled NF so that I can put a brass barrel on it, since it is so hard to get the darts in. Ditto for 17/32" brass, although it may work well as a base for a telescoping barrel. You will
not be able to blow them down a PETG barrel, you have to use a ramrod.
Fun fact: this foam shrinks imperceptibly in very cold weather, so they are good winter darts.
Pricing info: if 4 people buy, it will be $12.75 total (shipping included) for 200' each. If you only want a smaller portion, I would tentatively price it at $6.50 per 100'.
