#337800 Super cool gun that i dont know what to do with...

Posted by gehaga on 28 March 2014 - 12:55 PM in Modifications

Fill tank with plastic marbles to reduce the number of pumps to fill the tanks and you get to keep the original flavor of it.

#335946 Pre-Christmas with Kyle and Koree

If only I didn't live all the way in Long Island.

#330264 Dart-related Nerf war accidents and dart safety tests

Posted by gehaga on 26 May 2013 - 12:43 PM in Darts and Barrels

-During an indoor capture the flag game, Stony Brook University, April 19, 2013. ~6pm-7pm
-was using Longshot immortal kit, 8kg spring
-full sized felt tipped slugs
-I accidently shot a guy in the eye from ~10ft-15ft away
-his vision was blurred, his iris scratched, but has made a full recovery since

Other notes: He doesn't care that he got shot in the eye and received damage, but he was upset that he couldn't go to the Bill Nye lecture later that night because he wanted to get his eye checked out.

#329970 Homemade Fume Sucker

Posted by gehaga on 18 May 2013 - 11:37 PM in Homemades

You should have the filter in the front so less fumes are pulled through the fan. The fumes can actually ruin your fan believe or not.

#325653 Gears' Spring Break at Smedley

Posted by gehaga on 23 January 2013 - 01:11 PM in Nerf Wars

I'll try to make it.

#323352 A better way to mark darts other than Sharpie?

Posted by gehaga on 07 November 2012 - 02:41 AM in Darts and Barrels

Daniel Beaver solved your problem. Also you can use a reflective paint so it's easier to find the darts even in low light, that is if playing in the dark is your thing.

#323222 Hurricane Sandy

Posted by gehaga on 30 October 2012 - 09:01 PM in Off Topic

I live on Long Island, nothing too bad happened to me except that the storm cancelled the final 3 days of my schools HvZ game. I'm kind of upset about that.

#320716 Panther Tank Expansion

Posted by gehaga on 19 August 2012 - 09:59 PM in Modifications

makeitgo, always making quality write ups. Also you inspired me to do something similar. Thank you for motivating me to get up off my ass and do some modding.

#315873 Kony 2012

Posted by gehaga on 18 May 2012 - 09:28 PM in Off Topic

Have you done the research about the topic. Do you know that most of the money that invisblechildren raise goes into their pocket. Did you know that stopping Joseph Kony doesn't fix the issue. Please do research before becoming a mindless minion.

#314955 JSPB DYNE-2012

Posted by gehaga on 29 April 2012 - 11:40 AM in Homemades

I love the look of this thing. It looks so aggressive, a Mad Ghost on steroids.

#314921 Plunger Seals and Lube

Posted by gehaga on 28 April 2012 - 06:38 PM in Modifications

jackrabbit is right. Petroleum based lubricants cause rubber to swell, ruining your seal completely.

#313290 Alpha Trooper and Secret Strike Discontinued?

Posted by gehaga on 21 March 2012 - 06:35 PM in General Nerf

Alpha Troopers at Wal-Mart? The box clearly claims it's a Target exclusive.

#313047 Defender T3 Overhaul

Posted by gehaga on 17 March 2012 - 09:20 PM in Modifications

Oh god... I must build this!!!!
Also terrific mod Banshee, you never disappoint.

#312871 Longshot Mod Questions

Posted by gehaga on 15 March 2012 - 01:50 AM in Modifications

But none of that is as important as your poor choice of font. What the fuck where you thinking, using a monospace font for regular spoken-word text? And Courier New of all things... the most archaic, difficult-to-read of the fonts supported by IPboard. If you absolutely insist on using a non-proportional font, try Lucida Console (it's much more readable). Or you could just use non-formatted text - this isn't a fucking beauty contest.

That may be one of the most beautiful rants I have ever read. Thank you Daniel Beaver, for the entertainment.

#310962 How to get idiots to play Nerf?

Posted by gehaga on 09 February 2012 - 03:26 PM in General Nerf

That's not true. Super Soakers work much better!

You are correct! My evidence to support your claim.
http://youtu.be/paFUHjR8lxY

But about getting people into nerf, I've been struggling to get people into it for years. My only success has been getting people to play HvZ at my campus and when they realize that my longshot out shoots there maverick by 80ft they want to know why, so I show them. The rest is history.

#310081 Nerf Stampede "Brass Breech" Mod Guide!

Posted by gehaga on 25 January 2012 - 03:58 PM in Modifications

SgNerf, you never cease to amaze me. You're a wizard I swear.

#310002 Titan Scattergun out of a Maverick Turret

Posted by gehaga on 23 January 2012 - 11:28 PM in Modifications

I've done this before with vinyl tubing, but your method allows better air flow. Great job for your first write up too.

#309197 Make Magazine.

Posted by gehaga on 06 January 2012 - 11:47 PM in General Nerf

I saw the video today. For some reason stuff like this makes me mad.

#309181 Modification and Paintjob Pictures

Posted by gehaga on 06 January 2012 - 04:33 PM in Modifications

It's a shame that I didn't get my hands on a Crossbow before the "Show Off Your Crossbow" thread was retired. But here she is in all her glory.

Name: Hendrix(name given to it by previous owner)
Mods Done: Level "Good Enough." Replaced internals.
Integrations: None, used to have an at2k tank then a lightning blitz after that. Blue has since fixed her back to her original shape.
Comments: Bought her from Blue. This thing has a rich history. Here's a post of her in the "Show Off Your Crossbow" thread by a previous owner.

#309033 Prototype of an Internal Pump-Action Platform

Posted by gehaga on 02 January 2012 - 11:38 PM in Homemades

I don't think I can express how much I love this design. I must go build one this weekend, larger scale of course.

#309031 Darthrambo's Cheap and easy SSPB

Posted by gehaga on 02 January 2012 - 11:29 PM in Modifications

I very much enjoyed the vinyl tubing sticking out of it as the tank expansion. Very atypical indeed.

#308434 Magstrike longshot

Posted by gehaga on 18 December 2011 - 08:32 PM in Modifications

At least its a creative idea...

Kinda..

Creative?
Yes I would say it's creative and original. It's something no one has thought of before...

For good reason!

#308265 New York hvz?

Posted by gehaga on 13 December 2011 - 09:36 PM in Nerf Wars

thanks ill try thing is i dont know where i can go for HvZ and sine im 13 not sure if they'd let me participate considering im much younger then a college student

First I would like to state that I admire the balls you have for not proof reading that amazing run-on sentence.

Second HvZ games on college campuses are official campus activities that are run by campus club(s) for the entertainment of students, ergo you would not be able to play because these things are usually organized through the schools resources and require an ID# or school email. Your age has nothing to do with it, only enrollment status.

#307804 Superior Missile Blaster

Posted by gehaga on 26 November 2011 - 01:29 PM in Modifications

I have to say, I might have done a few things differently but this is imaginative. Great first post.

#307784 SanchoPanza

Posted by gehaga on 25 November 2011 - 07:17 PM in Homemades

Push priming blasters may be unorthodox, but you can't argue with it's compact size. Adding this to my list of things I need to try. Well done.

#307774 GNP for CNP Angel's 12th Contract.

Posted by gehaga on 25 November 2011 - 01:35 PM in Modifications

Largest Top Secret project I have ever worked on.

I'm totally looking forward to that.
Are you going to integrate a couple of ten inch monitors into a blaster "PIMP My Ride" style or something along those lines?

#307766 GNP for CNP Angel's 12th Contract.

Posted by gehaga on 24 November 2011 - 10:40 PM in Modifications

If I was ever facing down the barrel of this thing, there's a 90% chance of me soiling my jimmies.
The pressure gauge is pretty beast also.

#307261 Maverick Double Turret Mod

Posted by gehaga on 11 November 2011 - 11:09 PM in Modifications

In the MTG world we have a unwritten rule, if someone has already built a deck the does the same thing as yours but more efficiently, play their deck list.
Your mod is done differently, but not done as well. NerfHaven prides its self on being a quality website, with quality work(not necessarily easy). Anyone can see a well made mod and reverse engineer it with the tools and supplies they have on hand. These reverse engineered projects don't need write ups of their own. I realize that you did not know this mod was done already, but there is no reason to defend your post, what is done is done.

But anyway, I do like your priming rod replacement, very resourceful.

#307239 Nite-Jolt - Mini SMG Style NF/Jolt Integration

Posted by gehaga on 11 November 2011 - 11:30 AM in Modifications

Batteries degrade over time into alkaline mush, so I would suggest using some other dense material to offset the weight of the jolt. Perhaps screws or bolts?

Yes, batteries are notorious for decay. I would recommend marbles.

Also I'm going to have to try this. It's so simple.

#306938 Vulcan MOSFET Integration

Posted by gehaga on 04 November 2011 - 12:10 PM in Modifications

Wow, I nearly fully understand this with only reading it once. Awesome work.

#306798 Longstrike tilted

Posted by gehaga on 01 November 2011 - 06:51 PM in Modifications

If opening it and reassembling it doesn't fix your problem, add a fore-grip and make it pump action.

#306333 Please Stop the Insanity

Posted by gehaga on 22 October 2011 - 10:23 PM in Site Feedback

I agree with with taerkitty. These FNG's are annoying. I may technically be an FNG but I've been lurking this site for 3 years now and I can assure you that I am not part of the cancer.

#306268 Fully Auto Nerf Barricade Mod

Posted by gehaga on 20 October 2011 - 10:10 PM in Modifications

This is a really cool concept. I could see this being really useful in a war, especially if there was some sort of speed control for a variable rate of fire. I'm sure this design could be cleaned up into a simple, elegant, good-looking mod.

A re-shell is a great way to make this mod cleaner. With a little elbow grease it most likely could fit into a longstrike shell.

#306164 First fully auto lego Nerf gun: Raptor CS-35

Posted by gehaga on 18 October 2011 - 09:43 PM in Homemades

I felt this topic is worthy enough for my first post here on the haven because I love Lego.
This may be the most original and goofy looking thing I have ever seen in my 3 years of lurking this sight. I absolutely love this thing for its lack of safety features in that the flywheels are completely exposed, striking fear into anyone you barrel tap. I can't wait to replicate your auto advancing arm. Keep up the good work.
