#340024 Longshot's back in stores (reincarnated)

Posted by proplus on 04 July 2014 - 06:53 PM in General Nerf

Hasbro has already confirmed that all of the Z.E.D. Squad blasters (Just clear shot and LS so far) will keep their original ranges

IN that case, there is a 99.99999999999999999% the Longshot we knew and loved is back. YAY

#340017 ESLT 1.5 Build Guide

Posted by proplus on 04 July 2014 - 06:02 PM in Homemades

This is amazing .(picks up dropped jaw)

How durable is it though? I might be looking forward to building one, only it can take a beating.

Do you have any average chrony readings or range claims?

#340016 Longshot's back in stores (reincarnated)

Posted by proplus on 04 July 2014 - 05:58 PM in General Nerf

I have a feeling that the internals will be the same because:

  • It already has a direct plunger. That's a reqirement for it to be elite, or this generation
  • For them to change the plunger assembly would mean they'd have to modify the shell. If they have done so, thsoe two bipood stubs wouldn't have existed.
  • hasbro can be lazy, as seen in their several recolorings. scince it's technically already elite, why bother?

My guess is; the only thing they've changed in this longshot is the the breech, to feed in elite darts.
Next, would be to change that HUGE air restrictor for elite ranges.
Note the breech is very easy for nerf to adjust rather than the whole shell.

#337802 Any Nerf people here in So Cal?

Damn, it,s a small world,

i'm in Orange County, Fullerton :)

#337686 Joint youtube channel

Posted by proplus on 25 March 2014 - 05:51 PM in General Nerf

Wow, I would've never thought of something that ingenious, (no sarcasm intended).

It'd be best to structure a checklist such as:

The channel name,

the NIC modders loyal enough to the hobby, to keep it running.

the subject catagories, and news coverage,

the brocasting location, (if needed; multiple locations),

the channel, or network logo (to make it look official ).

The segments I'd like to see would be: upcoming wars, new porducts, mods of the week, rants, and modding materials.

It seems like a good idea as long as there is effort put into it.

My only concern is that it might tend to lean more towards general nerfing rather than modding itself and turn into another youtube version of Urban taggers, or my last dart, in which we have WAY too much of .

#336136 3 round burst electric Nerf gun

Posted by proplus on 28 December 2013 - 10:25 PM in Modifications

This is a very good concept that is feasible,
except for the fact that, fly wheels decelerate for a second, after a shot is fired.

This means that, the moment one shot is fired, the second shot will have a range decrease following a significant range decrease in the third shot, if you fire them in short bursts.

Still,if you use higher torque motors or lighter darts with less inertia, that may counter the effect. :)

#334070 2013 JSPB Works

Posted by proplus on 16 September 2013 - 06:21 PM in Homemades

Not bad, pretty clever fix.

After all these years of airgun building, wouldn't you want to put a spring or bow powered gun into consideration?

These blasters all look like revisions over the SAME thing over and over and over and over and over again.

It would be good to mix up gun types on the battlefield,
especially with the huge Nerf community you've established.

On the other hand, you've done a nice job there single-handedly introducing a new hobby over there.

#333712 Dart cartrige Belt

Posted by proplus on 03 September 2013 - 09:17 PM in Darts and Barrels

Why not look for alternative beltS?

A .45 cartridge belt would work just fine,
better yet , make one.
Your about me discription does say,"nerf props in germany scince 2011".

Put those skills to the test.

#332796 SledgeFire A/R Removal

Nice,

Do you have a rough estimate or compairason on how big the plunger tube is?

#332515 C.V.A.S.P.

Posted by proplus on 31 July 2013 - 12:09 AM in Homemades

Wow,

Probably the most innovative thing i've seen in nerfhaven lately.

Does the trigger seal well?

How far can you the plunger down?

#331210 Centurion Vid

Posted by proplus on 23 June 2013 - 11:11 PM in General Nerf

We've moved from speculating on pictures to speculating on priming sounds. Good job guys.

It's whats on the inside that counts.

#331167 Centurion Vid

Posted by proplus on 23 June 2013 - 12:14 PM in General Nerf

Damn, the gun might be capable of dethroneing the longshot, if we can convert it to taking 1/2 inch stefans.

It must be using some kind of different plunger system.
If you notice right when he fires there is two clicking sonds instead of one THOMP sound.

#330055 How to Remove Sharpie from a Blaster

Posted by proplus on 20 May 2013 - 06:05 PM in General Nerf

This works well, but if you do this anywhere on the stock blaster's paint
it will either bleach the color, or cause the paint to chip off.

#329175 Custom Triple Shot Grip Write-up

Posted by proplus on 29 April 2013 - 05:29 PM in Modifications

wow this is a clever solution/fix.

then again, is it a more comfortable/stable alternative
opposed to using to the original grip?

If you want, a 1" tee with a stub inserted into the bottom
can also work instead of 1-1/4 pvc.

this way you'll have a vertical foregrip making it more ergonomic. ;)

#327107 Shrinking stock darts?

Posted by proplus on 20 February 2013 - 08:01 PM in Darts and Barrels

Spraying your darts with air duster (the can needs to be upside down),
will shrink your darts effectively and quickly.

Take serious precaution when your doing this.

I don't know how this works but it just does. ^_^

#327054 Firestrike Rifle

Posted by proplus on 20 February 2013 - 12:21 AM in Modifications

Wow, I never thought that I'd see one of these made.

One question; how secure is the plunger tube to the shell?
Have you had any problems?
Ether way, excellent writeup.

#326961 NDA Exclusive - Nerf Gatling foam-ball blaster

Posted by proplus on 18 February 2013 - 01:28 PM in General Nerf

I think you guys should go for a more simplistic design,
making you products cheaper and more modifiable.

#326915 Air Zone Foam Dart Shooter AR Removal and Internals

Posted by proplus on 17 February 2013 - 01:41 AM in Modifications

$10 buys you a revamped Buzz Bee Hunter, it turns out. It's now top-loading, and pump action instead of bolt action.

There goes my dream of brass breeching this, (still a nice shell though.)
I must say, that priming mechinism looks stronger opposed to the other buzz bee models.

#326668 Rough Cut 2x4 Raider Fore-grip and AR Spring replacement

Posted by proplus on 11 February 2013 - 12:41 PM in Modifications

What in the hell made you think of not posting
the full write up on the mother of all nerf fourums?

Either way, this is a nice solution you came up with.

#326623 Wyes on mcmaster!

Posted by proplus on 10 February 2013 - 05:23 PM in General Nerf

The one big problem with spears though is that the shipping is horrendous.
It's like $10.45 for 1-5 wyes!

Great find man!

That's what will call is for,
you can simply pick up the wyes at Mcmaster Carr's distribution center, free of shipping charges.

Besides, the shipping charges aren't any better than flexpvc's, which you definitely have no choice to pay for.

#326282 The QUICK way to reload the RoughCut

Posted by proplus on 03 February 2013 - 05:23 PM in General Nerf

I do not see why this needs a thread.

Where else would he put it to inform everybody?

#326280 The QUICK way to reload the RoughCut

Posted by proplus on 03 February 2013 - 05:20 PM in General Nerf

Very clever,
Roughcuts are notoriously known for being a bitch to reload at a war scene.

I would have a diferent suggestion, why not build one of these [post=]http://nerfhaven.com/homemade/zero_speedloader/[/post]
But, modified to accept the Roughcuts format.

Your thread can use a little pictures.

#325086 Strongarm AR Removal

Posted by proplus on 05 January 2013 - 05:39 PM in Modifications

I bet a simple spring and barrel replacement and will make it hit 70-80 feet.
Otherwise, nice job.
I have a feeling that these will be seen in lots of wars as backups.

#325026 Buzzbee Panther Arm Cannon

Posted by proplus on 03 January 2013 - 01:10 AM in Homemades

Mmmmm, Damn That's sexy.

How long was the build time on the project?

Have you had any problems with leaks?

I would recommend the use of a titan pump or, a dual action ball pump.

#320007 Buzz Bee Panther - basic mod

Posted by proplus on 06 August 2012 - 03:16 AM in Modifications

My nipples are hard now.

you did an amazing job.
It seems that buzz bee has really spoken out to the modding community.

Is there potential to a pump replacement?

I guess I don't need for a sm750 anymore with this around

#319988 Would this mod work?

Posted by proplus on 05 August 2012 - 06:59 PM in Modifications

The general rule here is to do some experimenting yourself; what you read from others won't really teach you what is effective and what isn't.

That would be very useful to put in the new users survival guide, along with other edits.

#319738 Dartsmithing Tips Archive

Posted by proplus on 02 August 2012 - 11:17 PM in Darts and Barrels

The other day at mcmaster I found very nice and cheap stefan weight .
they're right in between 1/4 inch slingshot weights and .177 steel bbs and very affordable.

96455k74 I highly recommend these for all you SoCal nerfers that use domes.

#319737 Nerf N-Strike Elite Retaliator - Mod Guide!

Posted by proplus on 02 August 2012 - 10:56 PM in Modifications

Thanks!

Here are some approximated plunger dimensions i worked out for comparison:

Nite Finder Plunger
Inner diameter (ID) = 2.4cm
Plunger draw = 4.5cm
Total effective air volume = 20.37 cubic cm

Elite Retaliator Plunger
Inner diameter (ID) = 2.5cm
Plunger draw = 6.0cm
Total effective air volume = 29.46 cubic cm

The Elite Retaliator plunger has a larger air volume, but its offset by the added deadspace within the bolt system (air needs to travel 2"+ through the bolt before it propels the foam dart)... while the Nite Finder has very little deadspace 'cos the barrel is right in front of the plunger.

Overall, i would expect both blasters getting similar ranges if modded with equivalent spring loads (which is actually what i'm already seeing when i compare the performance of my modded Retaliators and Nite Finders).

I guess the significance here is that users can now have a clip-fed pistol sidearm (ie. just using the Retaliator main blaster only), that can easily get modded Nite Finder ranges with just a few simple and quick mods. :D

THIS is why I love you.

#319656 Nerf N-Strike Elite Retaliator - Mod Guide!

Posted by proplus on 02 August 2012 - 08:21 AM in Modifications

Awesome writeup  ,

Hopefully this will be a standard secondary or primary in the NIC.

This question might be old, but, is the plunger tube compairable to a nite finder's plunger tube?

#319102 Buzz Bee Range Master a new airgun

Posted by proplus on 24 July 2012 - 02:21 PM in Modifications

The tank is bigger than an at3k and smaller than a Big Blast. In terms of diameter, its close to 3/4" pvc.

oh yeah that's what I like to hear.

It sorta reminds me of this [topic='Raider - Replaced Internals (mega Missile) - The Mega Raider']http://nerfhaven.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=19961&st=15[/topic]
