#167727 Rapid Assult Rifle!

Posted by ltvills on 10 August 2008 - 04:50 AM in Modifications

answers to your questions
no it dosent hamper you from cocking the gun

yes it does block the clip..

sadly
the rfr is basicly stock other than a spring change
the tek 10 is modded

range of the rfr is bout 50-60
the range of the tek 10 is 50-60

Single loading it makes it seam like a loser type kinda weapon
im trying to work on how to get the clip to fit in from the side
ill be doing it asap

#167485 Rapid Assult Rifle!

Posted by ltvills on 08 August 2008 - 08:53 PM in Modifications

After a long dormant time of trying to pass my highschool subjects i decided 2 continue with my side project
again.namely this was finding a useful way to use my rfr. I then found my dual tek10 and decided to integrate it with the rfr.
The solution to my problem was easy and quick but the final product impresses me and alot of my friends because of the improvement of it.
This gun has even become one of my favorite primary guns.

What i did was

1. Cut the handle of the Tech 10

*Optional step*
(trim of the excess plastic that sticks out when you cock the tek10)

2.mount it to the Modded rfr as a shot gun forgrip kinda thing

3.Reinforce it with electric tape

4. get wire and tie the 2 triggers together so that when you squeez the Rfr Trigger
the Tek 10 trigger gets pulled back aswell.

Final product!

Future improvements
Adding led lights and an assault flashlight to it!
just some cosmetic changes and getting a better paint job.

comments?

#142361 Has Anyone Ever Used This?

Posted by ltvills on 24 February 2008 - 03:39 AM in Homemades

I have used this to modify my NF it is abit pricey but light weight. I'm not sure if it can stand as much pressure if you are using it as a homemade this stuff . It seams like you can shatter it if you swing it into the ground but i haven't tried it and i don't condone it.

It does increase the range because sadly The barrel is not realy good... you can replace it with a better sealed barrel or even just leave it minimized for easy storage

#139318 Knex Gun Site Looking For Tips

Posted by ltvills on 08 February 2008 - 03:30 PM in General Nerf

i like the idea but there are some flaws with it ...

1. small bullets and low range(in most cases) so wars would be indoor

2. kne'x not that stable like if u drop it u have to rebuild ? so that means no taps during war?

3. different bullets? for different guns

4. some of the more powerful guns are to strong(brakes cd) or just silly

#136512 Something You All Should See

Posted by ltvills on 19 January 2008 - 07:08 PM in Homemades

ball valve are effective in large tanks requiring you long barrels. using ball valve will be most effective because you are not really working with the speed of release but the mas of air coming out.

#136432 Ball Valve

id suggest putting it under water and twisting it open and close while submerged it helped with mine..

#136223 Bike Pump+ Ball Valve Gun?

i was seriously contemplating just using a check valve but stem valves are hard to find here in Australia

#135894 Bike Pump+ Ball Valve Gun?

Posted by ltvills on 13 January 2008 - 09:36 PM in Homemades

what if i want the pump to stay on the gun what is my best choice of connecting the pump on
any yes RAMBO something similar to that namely the boost but only 1 ball valve will be used

#135861 Bike Pump+ Ball Valve Gun?

Posted by ltvills on 13 January 2008 - 04:54 PM in Homemades

so you think a small hand held pump would fill the tank up with not to much problems?
50psi on cpcv tanks is the limit right ?
what if i reinforce it would i get better pressure?

#135798 Bike Pump+ Ball Valve Gun?

Posted by ltvills on 13 January 2008 - 04:07 AM in Homemades

what barrel length should i have?
and what tank should i use then
here is my plan
Posted Image
or something similar and don't worry I am putting a pressure gauge on the tank.
I think a small pump would be to slow to fill the tank so a standing bike pump would be best?wouldn't it? .
Again any comments or help would be very good.

#135768 Bike Pump+ Ball Valve Gun?

Posted by ltvills on 12 January 2008 - 11:14 PM in Homemades

I am planning to create a pump gun using a ball valve and a small or standing bike pump.
I will be using a pretty big pvc tank for the reason I am using the ball valve as a trigger. Now i need to know the best way of connecting the pump to the gun? I don't really want anything to complicated and i really want it to be quite small and portable.

im using
15mm ball valve
15mm cpcv ( barrel)
Cpcv tank (undecided on cpcv size )

by the way I know ball valve releases the air slow but i am really going for the mass of air and not really release speed.

Any advice please? Id be happy to be corrected if I say anything wrong since this is the first homemade i am making from scratch and my second homemade built (my first was the SNAP)

um i knew that it wont kill. I did shoot myself(on the thigh) before testing it on her i just couldn't tell because i am biased..so someone not expecting it would be perfect to test pain on... thats my opinion anyway

#133369 What Got You Started Nerfing?

Posted by ltvills on 21 December 2007 - 11:46 PM in General Nerf

Some people laugh when I say this but here it goes, revenge was what got me into nerfing. It was my older cousin that got me and my friends nerfing by shooting me on the head when we were 12-14 so I decided to ask my friends to help me, next time he came over to our house we all ambushed him then we started to play around and basically got addicted to it till we stopped for high school. now that were nearly over were starting again..

Ask the guys that work their, they usually have some back stock of it I got my bbb from highpoint if not try to ask them to get it for you from other branches it will cost you a little extra if you are really that desperate.

Im sure you will get them at ace but not 100%

#133237 Wood Tipped Stefan

Posted by ltvills on 20 December 2007 - 06:58 PM in Homemades

Um what I meant was possible to break windows if you get a gun powerful enough (100+ranged) and shoot it fairly closely. I have shot at a window 5 paces away with my (maverick, Speed loader , {Maxshot 10 paces})
and didn't break the glass and I didn't dare shoot it with my singled titan. Its not as painful as you think my sister who dint know took 2 shots for me 1 wood tipped 1 washer stefan(about 2 paces away) . She said ouch to both but when i asked her which one hurt more and she said the washer stefan hurts more because it stings. My theory is the impact area is less for the wood tipped therefore spreading out the force of impact ...

#133236 What Kind Of Glue To Use

Posted by ltvills on 20 December 2007 - 06:44 PM in Modifications

I searched around a bit and didn't find what I was looking for. I know hot glue could be used for it, but I want something stronger and more reliable.

I'm attaching a different pistol grip to a tek 6 and I want to know if I should use epoxy or Bondo or maybe even JBweld (skeptical on that).

Thanks

Well I use Plumbers Cement or Grout The upside for both of them are great durable hold but only Plumbers cement is air tight and water tight. or just use epoxy then reinforce with hot glue.

#133235 Big Salvo Snipe Single Shot?

Posted by ltvills on 20 December 2007 - 06:40 PM in Modifications

You aren't going to get increased air pressure, just increased volume, so to take advantage of that, you're really going to need a hellaciously long barrel.

Also, CPVC is terrible for air guns, unless you heat shrink your stefans quite a bit, so either make some custom darts, or use brass/PETG for your main barrel, which needs to be like 40" to take advantage of this setup.

Ive got a perfect sized micro that fits snuggly to my cpvc (i would use brass but my usual supplier wont be getting any until the holidays and i don't know where to get PETG in Australia and specially not worth shipping it )

#133233 Are You A Helpfull Nerfer?

Yep. Perfect projectile. Great for stunning. . Just kidding. I made that part up.

I just had a vision of a cat launcher And a kid getting hid eyes clawed out because of direct hit

#133184 Wood Tipped Stefan

Posted by ltvills on 20 December 2007 - 06:57 AM in Homemades

Just to tell you how fragile the tips are guys , I have already cracked 1 of my wood darts still works but I have been shooting it at a brick wall (5 paces away) and it took me 15 shots to do this used a max shot.

#133183 Big Salvo Snipe Single Shot?

Posted by ltvills on 20 December 2007 - 06:54 AM in Modifications

If u guys haven't realized i am going to make it a removable connector...
i have already got all the stuff i need now (except the 5 way connector) and i am currently preparing to connect pieces together. My current plan is to make it a removable connection so i can still use it as a the normal 4 shot.
For 3 reasons
  • If I fail/break the gun
  • If I The ranges aren't good
  • For further modifications

I tell you best find guns are at
Chadstone TRU
Highpoint (its a mall guys )
Northland TRU (they used to have half an aisle now they halve a small section)

Apparently Southland TRU is the main dump of hasbro but im not sure if that rumor is true.

#133091 Slide Lock

Just a question you think it could work on other guns ?
namely the Maverick?

#133087 Wood Tipped Stefan

Posted by ltvills on 19 December 2007 - 04:38 PM in Homemades

CS:Felt tips as a weight? Keef: If you have a strong enough gun, it would work. But it would be one of those that break glass.

I actually tested it on my long shot and it only looses 5feet because of its weight.
(The wood they use is really light its only a little heavier than the ball bearings i use..)
it is also possible to break windows with this

#133054 Wood Tipped Stefan

Posted by ltvills on 19 December 2007 - 06:44 AM in Homemades

Pros: works

Cons: more expensive, more painful, high likelyhood of damage, the head is larger than the foam so there will be a worse seal with the barrel, also, it won't go into a barrel bacalse the head is too big.

Did i miss anything?

Actually, the head is just the exact size of the foam amazingly !
Also I just kinda stole it from my work stool because they usually fall off so I just took them off and realized I was missing more than half already.

A real bad con of this is that it is not as durable as you think contacts on hard walls damage the wood
(shooting on a brick wall..) And i don't think that pain is really a con but damage is.

#133051 Wood Tipped Stefan

Posted by ltvills on 19 December 2007 - 06:01 AM in Homemades

I recently have ran out of Ball bearings which is what I used on my stefanns and found a couple of wood cover caps. (used to cover screws usually on stools)
This is what it looks like http://www.diyessent...cts/gp687tn.jpg
Ok So i hot glued it on and got good ranges with it and it gives a little pain when you shoot it. I made 3 of it because it actually works and has a unique look to it.

Here is my final product

Any comments on it . Think its a good idea?

#133013 Big Salvo Snipe Single Shot?

Posted by ltvills on 18 December 2007 - 09:19 PM in Modifications

I have taken in all of what you guys have said so...
I am going to make a removable connection to merge the 4 original barrels together
( i will need a 5 way connector apparently rare*)
The reason is a removable connection wont destroy the original firing capability

im not sure if i can find a 4 way connector or what else
but i shall do it after Christmas hopefully working

um.. Thats what i was planning to do
I have gone to the local hardware store and ordered a 4 way merger pvc (5 way conection).
They said that they will have it in by next year so i will have to wait. At the moment i am trying to decide on the length of my barrels.I have a fear that if the barrels from the 4 are to long that it might snap of or be totally out of balance. Any one have suggestions on how long the main barrel should be and how long the 4 barrels should be?
