One question: How the hell do you hold it? Do you hold it with the Manual plunger over your shoulder, or under it?

#281449 Homemade Airtanks?

Posted by MindWarrior on 28 July 2010 - 01:17 AM in Modifications

The new super soaker shot blasts water guns have a pretty good airtank, they have a built in spring piston with an air capacity comparable to an AT3K tank, but an air outlet similar to a AT2K though, It is very similar to an airtech series airtank in the fact that you pull a tiny metal rod to fire it.

#266262 Simple, Cheap And Effective Dart Mitre Box

My blade is virtually the same as the blade from a box cutter. But thanks!

#266260 Simple, Cheap And Effective Dart Mitre Box

Posted by MindWarrior on 20 February 2010 - 11:55 PM in Homemades

Dart cutting by hand to me, is VERY tedious and I can never get a decent enough cut for a nice stefan. So I made a simple dart Mitre box to help my cuts, and it makes my blanks VERY straight.

Materials
From the following picture:
Posted Image
You'll need:
1. A glue gun
2. Some flat, hard, plate or surface, I used a CD case
3. A box cutter blade
4. Two segments of your airgun barrel material cut to the size you want your darts, make sure that they have straight, right angle cuts. I used Schedule 80 cpvc I had lying around, which has a VERY loose fit on my darts, and cut them to 1.5' and 1' segments. You can easily use OMC petg if you wish.

Construction

STEP 1

First, take your blade and slip it so it goes about 6/8ths in between the two CPVC segments as shown:
Posted Image
With the little bit of CPVC that does not have the blade covering, you can use to allign and straighten the two barrel pieces.

STEP 2

While tightly holding the two pieces of CPVC with your fingers, making sure not to off center the barrels, hot glue the bottom of the CPVC barrels and press it tightly on the plate or surface your using:
Posted Image
Ignore the cuts on the CPVC, I took this picture after I was done. You should waight, 10-15 seconds before letting go, this will let the hotglue expand the distance of the CPVC slightly, allowing very little wiggle room for the blade for a smoother cut. BTW, it LOOKS like theres a lot of space between the blade and barrel stub, but there isn't, I was pretty sloppy using a table saw and got some of the edges off the CPVC, but the barrels are still cut with a perfect 90 degree angle.

STEP 3
Now draw a cutting guide on your CPVC like so:

and use it as a guide for your dremel to get this:

And your done!

How to use:

Its actually pretty simple, just slip the foam through the opening until its flush with one end of your mitre box. The place one finger on each opening, on top of the foam, and lightly stretch it to help straighten the foam. Then, Place your blade on the slit, and cut!

I've learned that minimizing the amount of swipes for each cut should be minimized to two quick swipes to ensure a perfect cut.

At first when I first cut my first batch, they looked slightly off, but after heating my blanks the were or was near perfect. Hope this helps!

#278000 The Ak-47 Equivalent?

Posted by MindWarrior on 18 June 2010 - 02:47 PM in General Nerf

We'll, the U3 claim their hopper'd hamps have ranges up to 100 feet, and those are the basic models. Hamps are cheap to make, very easy to make and ROF is ridiculously good for its range and price. One pump can send 2-3 darts down at your target

#279891 Angel Breech Question

BULL, You can use stock streamlines, just takes a modification to the design like SGNerf Did HERE. I Do suggest going down a size for the brass though.

#277185 Bike Pump Fittings?

Posted by MindWarrior on 08 June 2010 - 05:52 PM in Modifications

So I got a bike pump:
The bike pump
Product description: 6063 aluminum barrel with two tone T handle for better grip. 7" alloy barrel with dual action pumping for higher efficiency. Reversible Schrader/Presta thumblock. 120 psi.

I was wondering if there are any specific brass fittings that can be used on this pump for 1/4 or 3/16 ID vinyl tubing?

EDIT: Sorry, Meant 1/4 Outer diamter and 1/8 Inner diameter.

Many thanks, I found this and it should work for me fine, Thanks for the help!

EDIT: Shit, I meant 1/4 OUTER diameter, and 1/8 Inner diameter.

#277788 Bike Pump Fittings?

Posted by MindWarrior on 15 June 2010 - 09:29 AM in Modifications

Bah, I've seen Zorn's BBBB Writeup with the bike pump, what did he do? I'm planning on using attatching some 1/4 OD Vinyl tubing with super glue at the tip to attatch it to the pump, and then use goob to secure and filli it in the hole.

I've tried wrapping Etape around some 1/4 OD vinyl tubing and gooping it to a previous bike pump....Wasn't successful.

#275299 Angel Breech Catching Issue

Posted by MindWarrior on 19 May 2010 - 12:18 PM in Modifications

Check to see if the boltsled is cracked, that might be the cause, Unlikely, but its always good to check since your opening your LS anyways.
EDIT: For what SGnerf said above me, you could also reinforce your boltsled to prevent bending, I've seen some people use pieces from a coat hanger or Carbon fiber to reinforce them.

#270298 At3k Tank Replacement

Posted by MindWarrior on 25 March 2010 - 02:54 PM in General Nerf

The AT3K can easily fit a small bladder in the rear cylindrical "stock" on the back of the gun. I've done it to one of mine. A cut down RF20 or Magstrike bladder will work, but you must band it heavily or you won't get very good ranges, 70' at best.

To make sure the air doesn't leak out all at once, you'll have to limit it somehow or put a valve in between the tank and bladder. The RF20 / Magstrike trigger works. I wanted it to refill "automatically" so I plugged the air output on the bladder with epoxy, and then poked a needle through it before it hardened. The result was an airtank that refilled in about 2-3 seconds, and the cool part is the liquid gauge shows when it is full.

Be aware that you won't be able to get all six shots off unless you lengthen the back stock somehow. I glued two AT3K stocks together to lengthen the chamber and put an entire RF20 bladder in there. I can hold 9 shots now but it takes like 50 pumps.

Have you tried using dual action pumps? Should cut your number of pumps down quite a bit a, You can definitely fit a pump like that in an At3K.

#269511 Nf Plunger Assembly Problem

Posted by MindWarrior on 18 March 2010 - 11:29 AM in Modifications

The boiling hot water tactic should work, just be sure to leave it in there for a max of 30 seconds and use pliers to rip it of from the top, don't try bending the top, just a direct vertical pull should do it. If all else fails hough, piper cutters on the seam should get the top piece of, then its a matter of drilling/Dremeling to increase airflow.

#272640 The At2k Turret "gear"

Posted by MindWarrior on 18 April 2010 - 11:15 PM in Modifications

Just curious to know if there's actually an "Industrial"(Meaning that I can find it in a hardware store/site) version of that gear inside the AT2k Turret.

Its the center gear between the barrel stubs with a wavy-like pattern.

#281774 Help On Solvent Welding On An At2k Turret

Posted by MindWarrior on 01 August 2010 - 03:00 PM in Modifications

I find Zorn's guide still a little confusing. So I just need to know what type of solvent is needed to weld the back cap of an at2k turret to the metal piece if the front piece. I need to do this because Î'm putting a lot more stress on the turret. So far, all I have is an ace brand pvc cement, and I'm pretty sure that's not what I need.

#276349 Shot Blast Airtank

Posted by MindWarrior on 29 May 2010 - 03:32 PM in Modifications

Another question then, Whats the air capacity of the shot blast compared to the Mega missile's? I have a design that Only the shot blast airtank can do, due to its air opening on the edge of the tank instaed of being centered. Hows the opening, compare to a mega Missile?
