#172829 Help Plz

This is getting ridiculous. We should set up a quiz of the rules for all new members. Likely they'd all phail it though.

#173614 Problem With My Airtech 3000

Posted by Norther of Heaven on 30 August 2008 - 09:02 AM in Modifications

If its not a bad O-ring, then maybe plugging the pump will fix it. But check for the O-ring first.

#168664 Bbb Barrel

Posted by Norther of Heaven on 13 August 2008 - 02:08 AM in Modifications

I've finally got a good Big Bad Bow mod going but I have to re-straighten the barrel constantly. Has anyone thought up a good way to keep it straight without glueing the barrel post to the inside of the case? And yes I've checked the directory for this. And searched.

Thanks for the suggestion, good idea. :)

#166638 Question About Stefans

Posted by Norther of Heaven on 04 August 2008 - 09:49 PM in Nerf Wars

I've been experimenting with various types of ammunition for nerf guns, and since i've never been to a war before, i thought i should ask:

Are all sized stefans acceptable?

For instance if i were to make 3 or so stefans that when put end-to-end matched the length of a standard streamline, would this be acceptable to use in a war? I do this to create a nice burst fire effect. ^_^

#166648 Question About Stefans

Posted by Norther of Heaven on 04 August 2008 - 10:03 PM in Nerf Wars

You're right about the fire power and the reload times. I think they would best be used in a sidearm like a pistol.
That is unless i could have pre-loaded inter-changeable barrels for the gun.

#171744 At2k Bic Mod

Thought so. Thanks.

#171738 At2k Bic Mod

Posted by Norther of Heaven on 23 August 2008 - 10:40 AM in Modifications

I just got my first (<3) AT2K this morning and i want the bic pen mod on it, but im not sure if you put the spring close to the air tank or let the pen separate them. Or do you completely take the spring out? Help?

#203452 Gun Range Question

Posted by Norther of Heaven on 14 January 2009 - 10:19 PM in Modifications

AT2Ks are:

1. Easier to find
2. Cheaper
3. Easy to Mod
4. Easy to integrate
5. Have wonderful performance when modded
6. Completely Legal.

And they get those ranges.

That looks comfy, nice work.

#170487 Cpvc Couplers

Posted by Norther of Heaven on 18 August 2008 - 11:31 PM in Modifications

Try a thin layer of e-tape.
Did that with the coupler on my BBB and it works wonderfully, although i screw it on instead of just pushing it in.

#180138 What Should My Primary Be?

Posted by Norther of Heaven on 28 September 2008 - 01:12 PM in Modifications

it all comes down to wether you want to squeeze out rapid fire shots at decent range or single shots at great ranges. Try them both out as see which works best for you.

#173406 First Time Painting Problem

Posted by Norther of Heaven on 29 August 2008 - 03:43 PM in Modifications

Okay, this is my first time painting a nerf gun (any anything with spray paint really). I've already put down a nice layer of clear primer, 2-4 coats of the paint, and 2-3 coats of purity seal (clear coat). I used masking tape to cover up bits that i wanted covered and everything.

The problem is, when i took the masking tape off one portion of the gun, it left a nasty slightly-sticky residue on it. This leads me to believe that i put the tape on while the clear coat was still drying. Is there anyway i can smooth it out/get it off without having to re-paint it? Maybe just putting on a new coat of clear coat?

#173412 First Time Painting Problem

Posted by Norther of Heaven on 29 August 2008 - 04:13 PM in Modifications

I think we just got the tape a few weeks ago, probably less. Have you ever done that to a paintjob? I'm not so sure the duct tape would be a good idea, but thanks for the suggestion.

#201629 Pump Problem

Posted by Norther of Heaven on 07 January 2009 - 10:56 AM in Modifications

A pump i have (on a gun which i'm not prepared to disclose just yet) is doing that thing where its pushing back when i try to pump with it. i know theres probably alot of silicone grease inside the pump chamber, but is that the problem? Too good a seal?

And i searched.

#201759 Pump Problem

Posted by Norther of Heaven on 07 January 2009 - 10:36 PM in Modifications

I'll reveal only this small part about the gun, simply to explain how it may have gotten the problem:

I had to glue/goop/a bunch of other types of adhesive the head onto the pump shaft for reasons. Everytime i started to test the finished pump shaft the head would always break off. So i had to use wire or a small screwdriver to get it out. I may have hit the check valve more than once with one of those things.

X-acto it off. Its just goop.

I'd take my own advice if i were you.

whoa, hold up. What did I screw up on now?

You just seem like one of those members who always end up getting banned. Just my opinion.

They have changed the COPA laws, SO now you can be under 13. But it's still u to the Admins to Decide his fate

I'd take my own advice if i were you.

#205203 Recon Experiment

Posted by Norther of Heaven on 21 January 2009 - 06:39 PM in Modifications

What exactly did you mean by Adding E-Tape to increase spring power?

The only thing i can think of that you could improve is the seal on the reverse plunger with e-tape under the O-ring, but is that even possible without asking for the tube to get deformed?

#238073 Paintshop Help

i'd put down a base coat of yellow first, then work on the black.

Why the hell isn't this waste-of-space thread gone yet?

#209156 Maxblitz

Posted by Norther of Heaven on 03 February 2009 - 12:29 AM in Modifications

Meh, i'd prefer such a bulky weapon as the LB integrated into a more bulky/longer gun than the Maxshot, but it looks very functional regardless. Cool mod.

#177649 Nf2k

Posted by Norther of Heaven on 15 September 2008 - 09:33 PM in Modifications

I like this alot, very cool.
But like ive always felt about the AT2K, i think the handle needs an extension/addition of some sort to keep it comfortable and practical.

The request on final internal pics & more overall pics is second'd.

Um, you might wanna try welding. But i'm no expert at bonding metals.

#179430 Firefly Maverick Springs

Posted by Norther of Heaven on 24 September 2008 - 10:30 PM in Modifications

I'm interested in using a firefly spring in my current modding endeavors, but i would like to know first if it is anywhere near the size of the maverick's. Pictures would be lovely.

Searched and it didn't come up.

#179436 Firefly Maverick Springs

No, this will be used for a more high-powered gun im working on. Thanks for the hint.

#241473 At2k Issue

Posted by Norther of Heaven on 11 July 2009 - 04:37 PM in Modifications

It seems like "a waste of time" would be trying to get it back and somehow super glueing it back on to the end of the firing pin without cutting it open. But if you feel up to that task, shoot.

#179416 Nite-finder Comes Apart.

Posted by Norther of Heaven on 24 September 2008 - 09:32 PM in Modifications

Did you cut down the spring? I've been having a problem with my DiskShot and an ACE #49 spring. Im thinking cutting it down will work, but the problem is, it wont stay cocked. I've replaces the catch spring and everything.

A note on the gun not staying cocked: what I sometimes like to do is take a long-bladed xacto knife and cut the catch on the rod a little deeper so its sure to stay cocked.

And yes, I'm aware of the consequences.

#172301 At2k Questions

Posted by Norther of Heaven on 25 August 2008 - 11:43 AM in Modifications

SInce this is a AT2K questions thread I thought I'd post mine also.

How does someone generally load a long barrel thats not a breech? A ramrod?

Well it could be a coupler and not just a long barrel. Couplers are long barrels that are detachable and you manually feed the dart into the end of it that goes into the gun so it travels through the entire barrel when fired.

Yes, ramroding is used sometimes. I even use it on my NF sometimes.

#195614 Secret Strike 2k

Posted by Norther of Heaven on 12 December 2008 - 02:39 AM in Modifications

A few questions:

1. How many fucking 2Ks do you have?
2. Where the KFC do you get them from?
3. Whats the ratio of pump count to output?

#177263 Ls Jam Door Mod.

Posted by Norther of Heaven on 14 September 2008 - 12:36 AM in Modifications

So yeah, one day my LS started making a weird sound like something was rattling around inside of it after i'd added 2 mav springs, a recon spring, and the standard LS spring. If finally fell out of one of the crevices and it was the little piece of plastic that kept the jam door sliding back and forth on the bolt sled.

So if anyone was semi-peeved that the jam door only opened once you primed the gun, theres a quick little fix for ya. Mine broke by accident, but it should come off with a quick job done by pliers.

#177267 Ls Jam Door Mod.

Posted by Norther of Heaven on 14 September 2008 - 12:52 AM in Modifications

The great part about this is that i didn't have to open it for this to happen. It just... happened.
And i like the way the door keeps everything looking nice and *smooth*-ish. That and i hate the orange and blue color scheme. Florida? On MY Longshot? I think not.

..GOOO DAWGS!! SIC 'EM!!
*ahem* sorry, we're 3-0 as of today.

#170617 What Does A Sidearm Mean?

Posted by Norther of Heaven on 19 August 2008 - 12:45 PM in Modifications

A sidearm can be clasified as a pistol or similar gun that can be used quickly as a sort of backup weapon.

#180871 Crap! Ls Problem

Posted by Norther of Heaven on 01 October 2008 - 07:58 PM in Modifications

E-tape? Are you serious? It doesn't sound like you have any added springs in the thing. You're gonna need something stronger if you want to make the gun more powerful.

Looks kind of unsightly, but i'm sure it works great. Good mod.

#191615 Big Bad Beast

It seems a little bit "put-together" if you know what I mean, but otherwise it seems fine. Got any plans for the 2K's trigger?
