We're kidnapping Spoon and Bags the night before.
Cxwq, if you've got Spoon and company taken care of, I'll handle this one.
We won't duct tape him to the roof of our car, though. We'll duct tape his employer to the roof of our car. No employer, no work to go to that day. Ad maybe the employer will see our reasoning, join in, and never get in the way of Bag's participation again...
If worst comes to worst Bags, you're just in time to give them the standard 'two weeks notice..."
Just kidding. We'll work something out for you.

If possible (obviously not a requirement...) try to bring some trash cans. Like, empty trash cans. Like the size of the ones people put out at the curb for pick-up. For use as cover to make the open stretches less open and the blind corners less blind. Co-Cal-ers know the deal...but I can only personally supply so many. I'll have my usual 6-8 cans from my own house, + about 4 that I'm borrowing from my neighbors. They're on a month-long cacation and I'm taking their trash out to the street and watering their plants for them, so I'm borrowing their cans.
I will also be bringing two card tables to extend two of the legs on and tip them over on that side to make a little mini-bunker.
If anybody has any cans, card tables, marker cones, heck ANYTHING that stands up that could be used as cover, that'd be great. If there's just a bunch of cans laying around all over the place it gets kinda boring. And you can only do so much with cans. Diverse cover tends to make for more diverse play, so the more random crap we get out there the better.
Thanks!

Everyone in attendance is invited to my place afterwards to chill, eat, and chat. That said, I will be <voce familia>personally offended</voce familia> if any long-time LANO/YANO/Armageddon folks don't show up. Yes, that means you Zack, Toj, Josh, Daniel, Ray*, Steve**, Mr Box***, and anyone else who manages to drag themselves back for some old skool fun and games. Directions provided at the war. If you think you'll be coming, it would be sweet if you could PM me now so I can get a rough guestimate for food and beverage quantities.
Don't forget your sunblock, water bottles, eyewear, and chaps. Mind the new location. Keep your hands and arms inside the tram at all times.
Homemades are still verboten. Likewise the 5ks, titans, and LBBs which are micro stefan modified. Acknowledge... and move on, dudes.
Falcon's a nerd.
* Yes, you will spend the entire day hanging out with us and wishing you could run.
** Yes, you will make it to at least one war this year, you crazy hipster.
*** It's not Armageddon until Mr Box wraps himself in pink flagging tape and does a ribbon dance.

What can I say?
Anyone and everyone who has a video camera who is willing to bring it (either digital, DVD, or MiniDV, preferably) please do. It looks like I'll have at least two nonplayers running cameras, one on each end of the area covering in towards the middle, but I suppose another couldn't hurt...
If you can't find the place or something, I'll be there from 9:30 on, so give my cell a call at (626) 483-5844

NOOOOOOO!!! NOT THE LBBs!!!! (what is tony going to shoot you people with now?)
Meh, I probably can't make it now anyway... and that means probably a 1% chance of NARF attendance...

Tony (the guy Bags is talking about) is the one whose LBB shot like a crazy mother at one of the recent YANO's. His is unique in that aspect. Apollo's goes about 80-90' flat, as does one of my other Clan Members' LBB's. Seijin and Daniel's never have less than like 10 darts in them at once, so they're fine. It's just Tony, and he probably won't be there anyway.
Just wanted to make sure there wasn't a problem with ALL LBB's. If you want us to, we'll give you a demo so there isn't a question, but I really think the only one that shouldn't be in use is Tony's...

As far as I can tell, the LBB has roughly the same power as the 5k and the Titan has more. If that's not the case - eg. nobody has modified an LBB to get > 110' - then I don't have a problem with it. I never said anything about it at previous wars because my impression was that people were only using them with stock darts or shotgun barrels.
In any event, I'm not going to ban a specific instance of a gun. If the LBB with micro stefans can achieve 5k distances then they're out.

NIGHT WAR
The night Before 'Geddon
We would like a LARGER number to attend. We'd like to see alot of you there, Cx, Easties, those that'll be near-by. Anyway, this is the official invite! Its at the same place 'Geddon. I guess we'll call it, "Silent 'Geddon" (Can I like trademark that?). Anyway, post up if your gonna show.

Wouldn't playing there at night give us a pretty good chance of running into some sort of Law Enforcement and having us kicked off / thrown out / fucked in the ass & banned for the next day? Just some food for thought considering some of us are paying to fly out there, and it would blow serious donkey nuts to not be able to play.

Call me skeptical, overly-cautious, what-have-you...but, uhhh...
I think you have a point, personally. Aside from which, I'm not really interested in a night war.

2ndly, Groove you do have a good point. Here's what I can tell you.
The place itself where we play, is actually out of site. I'd be really surprised if a cop came EVER. Another thing is, I've played night wars for a good portion of my life, and NEVER been caught. I'm honestly not worried. I mean, I'm the guy that used to play out on a golf course in people's back yards, in homes being built, etc. And never once was I caught. Now granted, not everyone has had the experience I have had, I still think it'll be easier not to get caught just because of the location being so out of site.

Just to make sure we don't have problems like what some are worried about, I'll set up all the cans, card tables, and all my lawn chairs and lawn tables (I'll bring those on Saturday too, just to make Kuhlschrank feel at home) and other crap up in my front and back yards. There are two gates on each side of the house I can open, so it's a straight path through either side of the house to the front or back yard. We'll put the dogs inside, and have the nightn war there. I'll have ~14 people at my house anyway (my whole clan's spending the night here regardless) and we can just pick up our darts here. And then we don't have to mess with transporting 16-18 people to the location and back past when most of those people have a legal curfew. If this is a yes, tell me if you're coming and I'll PM you my home address.
Regardless, Groove, I can assure you that the Glendora Police Department aren't the type to fuck you in the ass. They're far too fat and lazy to do that. They'll be at the local donut shop (conveniently located across the street from a brand-new starbucks...) even when they're supposed to be patrolling. Makes me wonder if their families ever see much of them, because the donut shop has a parking lot, but I can never park in it because it's full of fucking patrol cars.
But the staff of the District office (which is in the campus of Sellers) might be a bit bitchy if people were playing on campus. Point is seen.
So I think having the night war on un-bannable turf that cannot affect 'Geddon the next day would probably be wise. Besides...you don't need excellent terrain if it's near pitch-black anyway.

I can confirm the amount of patrols that stop by the shop and stay there far too long.
Anyway, the curfew doesn't affect us provided there is anyone over 18 in the group that will take responsibility as the one in charge; Glendora law says that minors must be attended by an adult if out after curfew, nothing more. (I can get the exact wordage if anyone wants the legal jargon)
And seeing how AnyaSeijin is over that limit, we're all set.

I think it'd just be easier to hold things here. Not to sound lazy or anything, but getting 14 "pretentious teenagers" as Langley would put it, to a war location when half of them are pumped up on monster and red bull while the other half are reaching for the half-empty cans of aforementioned liquids sounds like one hell of a challenge.
Plus it appears that only the people staying with me+Seijin and Co. will be coming that evening anyway, so I guess I can be lazy...
Heh heh...Remember when you shot Spoon...that was great.
I remember that...I was standing there saying "He's got two guns, Ryan." "What's the second one?"-Spoon "I have no fucking clue."-Falcon
Then we went into a randomized blabber of "I can't tell"s and "wait, is it a...wait, no..."s and all that fun stuff. Then Cx shot it. I don't think I've heard that many f-bombs come out of Spoon at one time. Probably one per dart that was loaded in that damn LBB...
That whole day was great. And it finally convinced me that I either needed to start remembering I had a Nite Finder with me, or I needed a new, bulkier sidearm that would remind me that it was there... Freaking Cx yelling "RUSH! FALCON'S OUT OF AMMO!"
I suppose that's what I get for having to show up late, causing the three of you two sit around shooting springers at each other for 3+ hours, only to get booted from the urban area when we showed up. Served us right, I guess.

My bosses at work have asked me to join them on an all expenses paid business trip from the 14th -16th to las vegas to sign new products at a convention, and take in some shows. All flights/meals/perks paid for!
It just came up, and I have of course RSVPd to Armageddon which I LOVE, but I can't help feeling a little conflicted when an offer like that just comes. up out of the blue.... AARRGGG! My heart is with all of you and armageddon, but I feel torn between the two options!!
-Any thoughts!?

1) Falcon, are 2 cameras REALLY enough to catch ALL of my awesome moments. I expected this year's Armageddon video to be nothing of a highlight reel of my best kills anyway. I was thinking 3 on the ground and one aerial overhead AT LEAST would cover it. I just don't want to cheat our loyal forum goers out of some seriuosly amazing nerfing.
2) The guest list is 30 vs. 3 west coast to east. Again, is that honestly all you could gather? I'm kind of saddened by the laxidasical attitude a lot of you are taking. There is no way 30 of you could bring SHINDIG down if he was blinded in one eye, nevermind the 3 most active and damn near BEST the east coast has to offer. Just thought you whoudl consider that.
3) Shortshit, you are an ASS if you don't go to Vegas. Tell you what, if you want to go to Geddon, I'll fucking go to Vegas for you.
4) I am going to bring a package of those, "Hello, my name is" tags, because I like to know the name of the person I just hit. Makes it more personal, you know. You will all be saying wow, I got hit by OMC, AGAIN!, at least 4 times throughout the day.......each. So with 30 or so of you fuckers I have never met its going to be impossible to recall them all. I can't get more than 18 the 4 letter word memorization thing in Brain Age for Nintendo DS. You will all get nicknames I come up with one the fly if your name tag is not cleraly visible.
Man, I need my own entrance music before/after I post.
