I figured it will be. And since I really can't mod (well, I at least haven't tried), I figure she just won't have a gun then. But considering she doesn't really like guns to begin with, she probably won't be doing any . It'll be a miracle if she even comes.

And about Katie having her own gun...does that mean she'll be playing? or is she too afraid of being shot herself that she won't?

Glad to hear you're making it. After the huge fuss Spoon made about your abscence last year...

Looking forward to meeting you!

Is it that you don't know, or you just aren't telling? If you won't tell, I can just call her. Which I think I might do as soon as I get done with this.

Edit: So I called her and I quote her exactly, "Is that a dream of his?" She's not playing.

Buddy, you're taking my little joke a little too seriously...

And now, I have a LOT of explaining to do. YOU ty explaining a joke like that to your girlfriend! It's going to take forever for Katie to finally believe that I never expected her to play...

Oh well. I'm over it. She will be.

Sorry to say this you two, Falcon and Sas., but could you guys stay a little closer to the topic? Please? (No offense meant in that.)

Anyway, a few questions.
Who is officially coming?
And more specifically, what Easties are coming?

For furture reference. I believe I asked this question in the past, long ago, but why don't we set an age minimum?? I mean, I really hated it a few years back when we had like 40 people at Armageddon, and 30 of them were under the age of 12. Anyway, just a wild statement of mine.

Later.

Shinny...

Shoot. I was really looking forward to meeting you. One of these days, man. One of these days.

I think Cx is just taking a break from the bboards to concentrate on work. After all, he did just post on the frontpage announcing the new skin. And he thanked Julie for doing some work to get avatars back on line. So I don't thinkwe can count them out just yet...

Spoon's still another matter, though.

Alright guys, I'm going to be blunt.

I paid a lot of money for this plane ticket. Strangely enough, more than OMC, and I don't know why. I'm not going to try to decipher the Airline Ticket logic behind that because it's irrelevant at this point.

There's a few things I am going to have to demand when I arrive for Armageddon, next month.

(1) I demand a popsicle every 15 minutes. No excuses. I don't wanna hear anything about you not getting the memo, or some bullshit like that. Unacceptable.

(2) Spoon. I swear to Christ, if Spoon bails on me and the East Coast guys, I will kick him so hard in the balls he'll be hearing out of his Left Nut and seeing out of his Right One.

(3) Toj. He better fucking show up, I miss that guy. If he misses 'Geddon, same thing applies to what happens to Spoon. Maybe even involving some rabid squirrels or chipmunks.

(4) I demand a shrine be erected in my honor, because after purchasing this plane ticket I will be having to infact work MORE this Summer, just to pay for it. Yeah, that's right. I'm working to pay for a Plane ticket to fly out to a Nerf war.

In all seriousness guys, this is the most I have ever paid on anything, for any hobby. Minus computer gaming. If anyone wants to start a Groove 'Geddon Fund, I'd be much obliged. I'm gonna be fucking DRAINED after this Summer. But you know what? Sometimes you gotta take it hard in the ass. And I'm gonna take it hard in the ass on this one, but when I asked one of my best friends for advice on what to do after I had explained my financial concerns, he simply asked me this: "Will you regret not going, later?" And that's when I realized, this IS the Summer to represent the East Coast. And if that requires me to work a little extra hard to reach my goal, so-be-it.

So.

See all you bastards out there on the 15th.

Fuck that.

Seeing as I'm housing 3 East Coasters in my damn living room, I will be at the war.

I'll also be hosting a decompression event afterwards at my domicile. All the beer, music, and chili dogs you could possibly want.

Julie will be present.

I'm going to work pretty damn hard at getting a full contingent of Left Coast Old Skool peeps to show.

Josh, looking forward to meeting the wife.

Shinny, very sorry to hear you won't be here.

Groove, I have a fucking crate of otter pops in the freezer for you.

For what it's worth, Spoon will be there if I have to drive to Irvine and duct tape him to the roof of my car.

Honestly, that made me laugh so hard. I finally realize that I totally forgot what the 'geddon date was from when this started on page one, quickly run to the last page and find that.

It pretty much made my life. Serious.

But I'll for sure be there man, I miss you too, we need to, I don't know, hang out, get in trouble, and not get caught stealing guns or getting discounts from cute supermarket girls again.

Oh by the way. I have no idea who's coming from down here. It'll be the usual estimate of 3 - 15 ish. We'll all suck though, I don't think any of us have touched our guns since last 'geddon, or before. But we're cute, and that's what counts.

It means he's being a lazy fuck again, and is sitting on his couch in his underwear watching the war channel. Not a bad thing; I'd rather he be in his underwear at home on the couch rather than on MY couch. However, it also means his sorry ass has no idea what date the war will be on. And considering he's missed 3 wars in a row (soon to be 4) and hasn't made an appearance on the forums since before the second...

Spoon. I swear to Christ, if Spoon bails on me and the East Coast guys, I will kick him so hard in the balls he'll be hearing out of his Left Nut and seeing out of his Right One.

Brings new meaning to the words on his 3k..."FUCK SHIT UP".

See all you bastards out there on the 15th.

Can't wait.

Anyway Cx, I'll help kidnap spoon. Just give me a time a date, and I'll get the duct-tape!

I will most likely not be at this war. I just got off my cane about a week ago, and while I can walk independently now, I can't move very quickly. If I do come out there though I'm going to go terminator on all of your asses, seeing as how I'm a bionic man now. As well, I'm not even positive I will be in town that weekend. If I'm around, I will try to make it down, but I can't promise anything at this point. This is pretty much the last war before I move into enemy territory (New Jersey) for four years, so if I can't make this I might force you guys to nerf in August. Anyway, I'll keep you guys posted and cross my fingers.

Anybody heard from Hubbard/Jason/that crew of people? Or do they usually come with Spoon? I never can quite remember...

Oh and has anybody tried calling Spoon? I'm sure it's at least occurred to Cxwq, but I don't know who else (if anyone) even has his number, so that could obviously reduce our ability to find the guy. Regardless, has anybody spoken to him at all? If we have to leave a crapload of messages on his machine like we did two YANOs ago, then so be it. Whtever gets him informed as to the date, and gets him to at least appear on the forums again so we know he's alive.

I'd hate to have to watch Groove march up to Spoon's door *glass breaking, cats screaming, guys in their twenties cussing like a mother, old men yelling* and then see him march away with a bloodstained Guru.

Cullen Elementary will be closed all summer long due to construction throughout the district. We found out ~ 4 days ago, so we planned to spend Spring CAFF location-hopping to find a new place, hopefully larger for catering to such a large prospective group. We would've told you already, but why bother to report until there's something to report, right?

SOOOoooo...The Knights+Desert Storm&Guest (who did quite well for a 1st timer, by the way) visited a total of 5 schools yesterday. We played at two of them. We walked onto each campus with no guns, just looking for places that would work (no need to unpack our shit until there was a reason for it). If we found something, we'd look for people/janitorial staff/etc. and once we found no one/found staff to whom we could explain what we were doing, we got out our shit and tried the place. The first school we actually stopped to play at was okay, but it wouldn't have worked out. It was the second school we visited, and it wasn't until the fifth that we found something playable again. And we stayed there the rest of the day (which was nearly the entire second half of the day.)

The place is Sellers Elementary, and it sits one block directly east of Cullen (I'll post an address when I post up location pics this afternoon.)

It's not as "perfect" persay as the grid at Cullen, but there are TWO urban areas on campus, so there is no question that we can find a place for everyone. Even still, both areas should be playable by all in attendance at once with few (if any) issues regarding crowding. And, after looking at the current attendance list, and then assuming that VACC, Talio, and Kuhlschrank will be making it, we're going to have an excess of 30 poeple. It doesn't look like it right now on the list, but Baghead is listed alone, and his clan will have a bundle coming with him, like at least 5 or six in addition to himself. It'll be full, but the area can handle it.

One consists of FIVE protables in a t-shape sitting on a flat on one side with some concrete, with a steep but manageable grass hill on the other side. It's an excellent place (though we still like Cullen better) which will be capable of catering to rounds with all participants at once, even with the expected high attendance rate of this year's armageddon.

The second area is the main buildings of the school. There are three long & tall brick buildings with large corridors running their full lengths with the occasional trees, tables, benches etc. There is also one corridor running through them perpendicular to the main corridors. This area will easily be able to hold groups of 40+ all playing at the same time. There are also large areas of grassy field as well as two junglegyms on campus, but with two distinctly different urban areas, we figured that with a pile of trash cans, the place will easily last us all day no matter what sort of numbers arrive.

There is also a small semi-wooded (okay, it's just got more trees than anywhere else on campus, in a smaller area, so it's really just a shady place) on one side of campus next to the parking lot that we didn't try playing in, much less even really look at. But this is the school I attended (they changed it recently, so I didn't know until yesterday about the portables and such) and I can tell you offhand that the spot would be an excellent place to sit down fo lunch and whatnot.

I'll be taking pictures of both areas on campus this afternoon and I'll post them up them for discussion.

EDIT:

Here we go.

The main school buildings are separated by THREE major corridors, plus passage on both ends, and one corridor somewhat off-center running perpendicular to the three main ones.

A look down one of the main corridors;
Posted Image

Another Corridor:
Posted Image

The central, perpendicular corridor:
Posted Image

Next, the urban area consisting of an L-shaped layout of portables. At the main junction of the lines of portables there is a large handicap-accessible ramp that switches back and forth, provinding for obstacles as well as, at some angles, cover. Yes, this means Ray can come too. We were thinking about you when selecting locations. Handicap-accessibility was a big factor in our minds.

So here's an overall view of the front of the portables:
Posted Image

Here's an overall view of the mess of railings in the middle, involving two short sets of stairs towards the left, and the ramps to the right:
Posted Image

Here's the backside of the "L", looking at the ramps & stairs. The ground height drops ~3' here into the trench, but the short wall coming from the concrete comes out and meets the grass where it comes back up:
Posted Image

A view across the hill I mentioned before the edit on this post that goes across the backside of the two portables closest to the camera in the first picture of the location. Again, the hill is entirely manageable, and isn't so steep that one would slide down it. This was taken from the inside corner of the "L":
Posted Image

A view from atop the hill, looking down between portables 1&2:
Posted Image

And lastly, a picture across the front of portables 1&2, looking towards the centerpoint of the area, where the stairs and ramps are:
Posted Image

So that's what we found yesterday. The address of the school is:

Sellers Elementary School
500 N. Loraine Ave.
Glendora, CA 91741

So if nobody has any objections, I think I'll go change the opening pictures of the trailer...

Double EDIT:
I changed the location pictures in the trailer, fixed some of the timing (it got a little off in a few spots) and switched out the first video clip for a different one that looks better. Now, when the video clips start up, you see Cxwq and Hubbard (with others in Background) charging from left to right, and then it switches to Spoon & company charging from right to left, so it's like two opposing armies advancing/charging. Looks pretty badass. The link in my sig is updated if you'd like to take a look.

TRIPLE EDIT (I'm done after this, I promise)...

And what other Eastie am I missing? I'm shooting 2 for 3 right now. I was hoping for more.

I think I'm still shooting (I mean hoping...that wasn't intended, but it probably came out right anyway...) for 4-5 easties. From what I know, Groove, OMC, VACC, Kuhlschrank, and Talio were really planning to come. The only reason we're looking at two right now is because Groove and OMC are all we've heard from since the "final roll call" began.

Just give it some time, and I'm sure the other 3 will holler at some point.

Heck, they've been a HELL of a lot more active than Spoon has been the last 2-3 months, and his ass LIVES here.

It seems that quite a number of the easties still have yet to reply with a definite.

VACC and Talio have already been brought up, but has anybody heard from Death? He was talking (about 9-10 pages ago) about coming out again this year, but hasn't spoken about anything on the forums since. I guess It's safe to assume it'd be a no from him, considering how long it's been and that there's two weeks+5 days until the war. But maybe he just wants to randomly walk onto campus with no warning and scare everybody shitless or something...

Whatever. I'm perfcectly content knowing that there are three of you coming out to play. I'll do my best to get over there next summer or something, because I have to agree with you, it's not fair that you all are the ones always living in cardboard boxes to save rent fees to fly out here. It's about time some more of us (other than those who already have in the past) pitched in...

2 weeks & five days. Damn, this is going to be fun.
