So the weather is looking to be 91 degrees with no chance of rain. Its like the summer of '13 all over again.

Heres some tips to all the new guys coming.

Bring a lot of water and fluids. A days worth of water should be about 3 liters. You should bring 4.

Sunscreen. Just bring it. There isn't the best tree coverage and shade when we are playing. You will get burned after 6 hrs in the sun so don't risk it. There isn't anything worse than driving home with your face on fire because you thought you were to good for it.

If you start to get fatigue or feel any signs of heatstroke sit down drink and cool off. Don't push yourself because you are tough enough. I have seen too many people end their day early due to almost fainting from the heat.

Shelter wise bring yourself a foldable chair at the least. Most of the veterans will be bringing tents to sit under but if you have your own bring it. The more the merrier. Just understand that at the end of the day what you bring is your responsibility alone. Others may help you with set up and tear down but its not anyones job to make sure you have all your belongs.

Food. There are some food places around not that many close but they are there.

The oppressively hot and humid NJ weather made it here just in time for Apoc. See Evilbunnyo's post above, and my guide for dealing with hot weather quoted below.

Heat Exhaustion at Apoc is a very real danger. At last year's Apoc the heat index reached what the National Weather Service (and Kenny Loggins) call the Danger Zone. Temperatures are approaching that range today in New Jersey, and it's possible that they will be as bad or worse at the war. These high temperatures are compounded by the fact that there is very little shade on the field at Apoc, and according to the same NWS page linked above, direct sunlight can increase the heat index by up to 15^F.

How you can prepare:

• Bring enough water. At least a gallon jug for a single person is recommended. Bringing a sports drink like Gatoraid will also help, and the extra salt will help defend against Hyponatremia. Don't forget to leave your water in the shade when you put it down. It *will* be too hot to dink if you leave it in the sun.
• Wear lightweight brightly colored clothing. Leave the black t-shirt and tacticool pants at home. Cotton may keep you cooler than synthetics, unless they are designed specifically to keep you cool (like under armor heat gear).
• Wear sunscreen. Put it on at home before the war, then put it on again at the war when you've sweat it all off.
• Wear a hat or visor. Something that will shade your face and/or neck, but won't keep the heat in.
• Avoid Caffeine. Lay off the Monster and the Red Bull for a couple of days.
• Train in hot weather. If you spend all day in an air-conditioned building, try and get out and get some exercise in the days and weeks leading up to the war. If you don't, the heat and humidity will hit you like a ton of bricks.

Any word on the bandanas? I saw some designs, but don't remember reading anything about a finalized design. My old ones are getting used and abused. I think its about time for new ones.

I can't make any guarantees, but I'm trying to get them made last minute. I would bring some cash with you to the war, they should be $10 for a set of team colors and $5 each for any of the limited edition patterns and colors.

Man, what a great day. I gotta say my performance was the worst ever though. I probably fired around 250 darts and didn't hit a single nerfer. The upside I guess was nothing broke. See y'all next year.

APOC was fun, I didn't hit as much people (bad dart quality by me) as I got hit but it was all around good times. the last 2 hours were great dicking around and I'm glad so much people showed up. I hate most of my footage just sucked due to angle, shake and my goggles blocking out the view but shows some cool things (like when I threw a dart and hit chicken)

Great war, great peeps, had a fucking blast, I loved the whole Georgia crew, (chicken the most), greatest time I had was having a sectioned off 3:15 with a good amount people, can't wait till next year-

Thanks to everyone who came it was a real treat. My MVPs have to go to Chicken, Nick, and The Twins. It was a perfect war to come back from the dead to. Getting to throw down with my Gnomies and the Mongols has never been so satisfying. Looking forward to seeing everyone in their respective regions soon!

Apoc this year was a blast. I had a great time participating in rounds. It was cool meeting new people, and catching up with others. However, I am now starting to realize that I need to make new and better blasters. Thanks to Langley for organizing the event.
