To anyone who thinks he should make a hopper clip: Did you read the part where he said he didn't have a wye?

Because I just made TWO regular +Bows in one gun that can both be hoppered. I don't have any wyes.

I think I see where you are coming form Lt. You are saying that if the breeches were not linked, I could load breech one, fire it, and while I'm firing load breech two? Then while I'm firing breech two I could reload breech one? I see how that could work but the gun is a bit much to hold with one hand. It would make the stability and overall accuracy of the gun go waaaay down.

I make sure all my blasters are either light or balanced enough that I can still aim and fire with one hand while reloading the other darts in whatever multi-dart setup I'm using (hence the addition of an extended stock to my quadshot). Not being able to do that makes me a sad nerfer.

In fact, I feel very inclined to go slap two SNAPs together side-by-side, paint an American flag on it, and say something about your mom realizing that bigger is better!

I'm actually kinda serious about that.

On topic-- I think this is cool. An existing concept, taken further. Whisper---well done......who cares if the overwhelming majority of the NIC thinks its practical or worth building. Its cool just to see it built, and I applaud your effort. Now, go prove its usefullness at a war.......and have fun doing it! The fun factor alone makes this thing a win in my opinion, but after all "Nurf is srs bizz!"

That's a little much. Personaly, I don't see any reason to ban this thing when hoppers are so readily available. That's the beauty of them. They're so cheap and effective that it's pretty hard to make a case for banning anything that isn't dangerously powerful. There will be exceptions, but I can't see this being one.

"Cool as fuck" and "useful in a nerf war" aren't always the same. In fact, a lot of the time they tend in opposite directions.

I can't completely agree with this. Sooths "Your Fucked" Maximizer, SM5000, Crossbows, and anything he gets ahold of is "cool as fuck" and has extreme use in a war. Prince Valors BnA was "cool as fuck" too and works wonders. I mean I can sit here all day and name stuff that is "cool as fuck" and has use but then I would have too copy and paste most of the Modifications and Homemades sub-forums wouldn't I?

It's totes cool with me if you put the entirety of your war group's dicks in your mouth, but I think you failed to refute Zorn's point.

I think we can agree that a hoppered Big Blast isn't particularly cool. It's super utilitarian and simple and common and basically everyone has one. Even the U3 Sylow Big Blasts aren't even that cool. But man are they fucking practical. They fire millions of feet and with a hopper have great ROF.

I think we can also agree that there exist guns that are cool but not really practical. For example, my treebow. It's currently singled. It shoots one twenties with good dart/barrel fit, but it take about four times longer to fire, prime, and reload than a hoppered +bow or similar, and even then doesn't shoot quite as far. And then it kicks like a motherfucker, especially if you hold it with one hand. Can barely hit anything with it.

And then a gun like a hoppered Maximizer falls in the category of "both."

And because you didn't seem to understand this before, I made you a chart. That reiterates exactly what I said.



Just because you can name shit that you think is cool and has use doesn't mean that it's going to be a particularly effective in any instance.

If you were thinking of not use a link breech maybe you can try using a breech where the polycarb are over lapped one of them. This way you can fire and load the top breech without opening the second one. Also you still can open both breeches by sliding the bottom breech. In this setup you still get a single and a link feel to the breech.

BigBen: No. Not funny. Ever. I like your breech idea though. On my breeches you pushe the PC peice forward to open the dart slot so your picture is not oriented correctly to fit this specific breech. Still, I see, and like very much where you're coming form.

From the looks of your drawing, that breach would do the exact opposite of what you say. With the bars like that it would be reversed, with the bottom being able to open and close seprately.

Oh no, I've gone and upset someone. Your misconceptions are two-fold here. First, if you came to a nerf war that I was attending we would not have a heated discussion, because I wouldn't care and you, like every other angry 14 year old who's ever come to my nerf wars with beef, would realize that I'M NOT 14 years old, and you'd shut the fuck up. If you want to refute my perception of your gun's utility why not try to, I dunno, shoot me with your nerf gun?

Second, while I'll admit pointless is not the right word, the reason I find this less than revolutionary is stated in my second post. Hoppers have made this somewhat superfluous. Better sustained rof on a less cumbersome weapon that creates a smaller target profile = more good. Linked breeches, in my experience, are impractical. That's not to say that this does not have it's place, or that it's not a cool addition to a nerf war. It's just absurd to say that it lends an unbalancing advantage. This is all, of course, my opinion. I happen to back it up with, like, 15 years of war experience, but it's still an opinion. You're better off accepting it as such.
