I would not object to a $5 cover.

Dethklok might be interesting...

I would have no problem with 5$ going towards food and such. I might not be able to make it depending on football/school and such.

I saw that on adult swim the other night.

I might go, that sounds like a crazy time.

Alright, anyone who's a maybe, you should know by now if you're coming. I need to let them know how many we will have in our group.

I'm going to the location tomorrow to scout out places that would be best suitable. Also, I edited the first post with a schedule for the day. Make sure you read it.

Turns out that's my boss's anniversity weekend with his wife. I'll know for sure if I can make it about a weekend before, so change me to a maybe.

At this point, concert tickets have moved from "not-for-the-poor" to "ok-that's-way-too-much"

I'm canceling due to apathy.

So I finally went out to the location today to scout out some playing areas. Looks pretty promising. You can rent out "groves" which are either a pavilion or picnic area. You can rent them out for $30-50 depending on what you rent. There are 25 groves in the entire forest preserve. I picked the two that I thought had the best cover. There is a fair amount of traffic that goes by the road you'll see in these pictures. There is two lakes south of the groves I was interested in. But I don't think the traffic will be a problem. I'm going to go next weekend to see how busy it is on a Saturday. Today there was virtually nobody.

This is grove #21.

To the left from the road. You can see grove #18 in the distance.

Posted Image

To the right. There's about a couple hundred feet from the road to the beginning of the prairie. Might be a good strip to try Predator.

Posted Image

Now this is grove #18. It's right next to #21.

To the left.

To the right is #18. Across the road looks pretty good too.

So depending on how busy it is there, we could probably take up the majority of that space as long as people haven't rented out one the groves. I'll call the Forest Preserve next week, as I'll be on vacation for the weekend. Hopefully we can get either of those booked. What do you guys think? And which one you like better?

EDIT:

Here's a pic from above.

EDIT2:

I'm also glad to tell you guys there is public bathrooms within a few hundred feet of the location. They also have a hand pump for some good old well water. Dumpsters and garbage cans are also available on site. There's also a Subway, Chipolte, McDonald's, all within five minutes of the site.

I saw these on MWNC and though to myself how awesome this area was. Your description helped all the more.

I'm pumped. Don't have a preference to the site. I'd like to try Predator at 2.5, maybe.

Looks like one week from Chano 3 folks. Seems like it'll be a little chilly, possibly drooping down to the low 40's/high 30's with a possible wind chill.

You can, but since you aren't Brian McHelmet you can expect something along the lines of a STQ round in your honor.
