Please Pm me if someone said this already and I'll take this down.

If everyone here included this in their post, this thread would be 2 pages long.

Wow, I'm really excited about the drum mag, yet I'm disappointed that I just a month ago FINALLY found clips in walmart and dropped 20 bucks on clips that I will soon have almost no use for... Oh well, awesome work hasbro.

Just so you know, you can still use those clips with this gun.
(i apologize if you already knew this, but it sounds lke you did'nt.)

I knew, but why would I use a 6 shot mag when I could have a 36 shot drum mag, you're only vulnerable when you're out of ammo.

Thats what a regular clip is for; when you're out of ammo. Have fun trying to reload a 36 shot clip in the middle of a nerf war (assuming that you shoot off all 36 darts in a round). We already know how to mod our clips to use stefans. Doing the same for a drum mag might be much more harder.

I personally intend to begin a round with the drum in the gun, and then switch to the normal clips once it's spent. As you said, lugging a bunch of 35 shot clips around kinda sucks.

Exactly, I mean how the hell do you carry around more than 1 drum mag easily? It's a lot easier to carry around a 6 shot clip.

Yeah, it also helps if your nuts are made of steel. Or atleast as hard as steel, to ensure that you can shoot far enough.

[/quote] Seriously with a 35 round clip you wouldn't need more than one well if you were fighting the chines. army

You guys can argue over tactics and which clips to carry when you have the gun. Right now, you're just making fools out of yourselves.

A lot of it depends on which takes up more space, one of these drums or six standard magazines.

Yes. And I hope the drum can take a beating, because at wars, I'm likely to use it all up, drop the mag, and slide a "fresh magazine in with a satisfying 'click'". 3/15, right? That gives me... 15 and a half kills with my current setup. :)

It isn't quite that simple. Keep in mind that the six standard mags can be placed in different pockets/pouches/etc., while a single 35-round drum mag would be placed in a single location. Even if the six standard mags have more total volume, you could keep each of them in a seperate pocket in a pair of cargo pants without hampering your mobility too much, but I doubt you'd be able to fit the drum mag in any but the most ridiculously large pockets. Chances are, if you wanted to carry extra drums, you'd need a backpack or some kind of dedicated container - or attach a good belt clip to the drum. In either case, you'd probably notice it a bit more than the standard mags.

I disagree captain. Even though we don't have the gun, we can make several reasonable assumptions about the drum mags vs. regular clips, and disucss their use based on those assumptions.

When it comes down to the wire, if you have one more shot than your opponent, he's screwed.

This is amazing, I've been waiting for nerf to release something new.

Why are you guys complaining about the drum being to big to carry. I you think about it you carry the same amount of ammo with 6 clips, when you carry one drum.

Well, If your drum breaks in mid war your screwed. If a clip breaks you still have more clips. When It comes down to it like that, Clips would be a better alternative, Also with all those parts making a 36 clip possible it's bound to jam or break.

I'm thinking that you could just add a hook somewhere on the drum mag, whether it be attached by screws or glue, and attach it to your belt via a carabiner. That way, you can still run around without it hindering movement much. It still would be noisy though because it would keep bouncing around as you run..

Is that why people don't use the LS to begin with? There's a lot of moving parts in one of those.

It's all about the tradeoffs. You trade possiblity for jamming with range in the LS, so why not do the same for non-stop ammo capacity?

You're right, to be sure, but...

On the same token, I don't think there'll be many moving parts in it.

So... Start with the drum mag, if it runs out resort to your back up clips (however many you choose to carry) and use those until you have a good safe place to reload your drum mag. Long story short even if you have extra clips, in the amount of time it takes you to switch clips, you can be completely screwed over or cornered. Simple statistics dictate that the less often you have to switch out your clips the less vulnerable you are overall. I really don't understand why my point has taken so much to comprehend. It's a really simple idea...

Also, (not sure if anyone mentioned this) but where exactly would you put the drum mag? There really is no sticking it in your pocket like the 6 roung mags. You also wouldn't want to leave it on the ground.

Just a little something to think about...

Make it so a carabiner will hang onto it and hook it onto a belt loop.

I'm with Slug, this is a little pointless. It seems that we enjoy arguing more than speculating. When the gun hits the shelves we will all know.

It was my understanding that we were to add our opinion as to how the Raider was going to function, nothing more. Instead we bicker over something that, as Slug has said, has already been created!
I read 21 pages on this thread, most of each page was someone telling someone else they were wrong, or in some cases stupid, for there speculation.

None of us has fired the gun, nor have any of us seen the inside, thus until the gun hits the stores, in essence, no one is right. Were just guessing.

*whew* alright I've added my $.02.
