I got a ls yesterday and, right out of the box it was leaking air (I think.)
When I fired it, the dart (streamline) went around 25 feet, and the gun made the normal firing noise followed by a long low hiss.
It's also really inaccurate. It can only sometimes hit a 2'x2' square at 20 feet.
Rather disappointing. I know that longshots can be better than this, getting pretty good accuracy at this range.
Can anyone suggest an easy mod for this thing?

Dont expect more from a stock LS... they kinda suck.

Yeah i agree in my experiences Stock LS's suck. After modding should be good.

Maybe because its stock?

There is a hole in the bolt, plug that hole.

Than take out the AR.

Then add a spring, and you'll be semi-set.

The Longshot is a spring gun. Spring guns don't "leak". They (almost always) use a spring to push a plunger or plunger tube to move air to the dart. The threads you see about guns leaking are air guns. They hold pressure in their tanks (and tubing). If there is a leak, the pressure is leaving.

Right out of the box, twenty five feet IS working as well as you could expect.

Yeah, but it also crushes the darts and makes them flail around wildly.

Way to tell us that in the first post. You asked for mods, we gave you mods. Crushing streamlines and streamlines fish tailing is also very typical of the stock Longshot.

The "hiss" you described is probably the air restrictor, the "inaccuracy" is probably because the gun is completely stock and if you haven't modified alot of guns, I wouldn't suggest modifying it, because i've heard alot of people say that Longshots are hard to modify (although some people think otherwise).

Let the thread die, he now knows that all stock longshots are like that and that he needs to modify it to get anything decent.
