Now this is what I was waiting for! Thanks for taking all the pics and getting the dissection posted so quickly. And I gotta say,

Pull back even further, and the front of the plunger TUBE actually juts forward, to seal around the chain shell!

absolutely makes it. I'm really looking forward to seeing what will be possible with this!

Much better. Does the 50-round chain work with that endcap in the middle of the chain? Have you tried it yet?

This made my day. This gun is amazing! I can't believe it has a good plunger system! Hasbro has finally recognized the modders, and how much time they put into modding their guns, and hasbro is finally cutting us a break! This is my favorite gun of all time, now. A modding nightmare, but well worth it. I mean, that kind of ROF, and like, 35 feet out of the box, that's awesome!

Hah. They recognized the modders and said "how can we so screw them over" IMO. The screw wells are 4+ inches deep and narrow in some spots. One of the internal pieces (been messing around with it trying to figure out what does what) has a screw that is about 7 inches down through a quarter inch hole. I'm working on the no firing unless hatch is closed thing. I'm just going to straight wire it to see why it's there.

What do you guys think of the AR removal. My first writeup per se. It's pretty simple. There are a lot of simple things to do to this gun, but it seems that there are no medium level things. It goes from ARs, pegs, and connecting chains to motor/battery replacements, messing with circuits and gear ratios and safe guards. We'll see.

What I plan to do:
Petg chains and peg removal (won't have petg until after apoc though)
Battery replacements
Range tests with stefans
Speed tests
More minimization? I think it looks sick nasty like this. Like a little bazooka.
Maybe some integrations?
Spring addition/replacement

Other than that, I'm very apt with this stuff. My other mods haven't been posted yet, but believe me, I've done enough. I've also been doing modding on other stuff for years. So I'm all for suggestions. I'll take em, and if I like it, I'll think about doing it (within budget really. I have a ton of free time).

Edit: It's already lubed up a good deal, and the O-ring is beefy and tight on the plunger, so I'm going to leave those alone.

I'll just be another to say thanks for the internal pics. I am so relieved to hear that the plunger tube seal well with the ammo belts. I was really worried about that. I'm glad I ordered two of them  I will have to hook all four chains together at least once.

LOL 4 chains hooked together, you better bring a buddy to help carry all that and help feed it.

Or just get another 5 chains and a military ammo box, then darts to fill all the holes. There ya go, stationary turret with ammo that'll last longer than the batteries.

It works just fine.

Can't think of a good integration. I mean, it has it all, speed, distance (hopefully awesome distance with a bit more), big ammo. The only drawback is the size, and no integration is going to help that.

A pair of small questions: 1) Is there any feasible way to cut an opening in the ammo box to allow more ammo to feed in from? 2) Does the manual firing mode cocking handle move while firing in automatic?

Also, I would like to thank you for the clean and detailed information on the gun and the pics as well.

That's the plan. Hooking all four together will just be for fun. I mean...how much fun would it be to fire 100 shots in a row while your buddy is feeding the belts?

I just finished the very same modification today. I plan on a integration and cosmetics mod for tommarow.

Just open the top, and add on higher sides. You'll have a lot of chain hanging off of the other side though. That's more what I'm worried about.

Sorry, I didn't expect it here so early, so I don't have any D batteries to try it out. I'll post that when I post all of the other mods. Edit: I figured this out earlier actually. It doesn't. I rotated the mechanism that the motor would normally rotate (a gear train) and the only thing that engaged was the plunger and chain rotation mechanism, not the other stuff (yet to name/figure out what it does), including the manual cocking piece.

Have been tinkering with this for a good 3 hours since I did the ar removal now. What I've come up with:
I'll be sticking to D batteries for now. They'll last long enough. I can deal with the weight, I'm not a small guy. Also, there are rechargeable D batteries out there.

I'll be keeping the spring as is. It is very possible and likely, that if I add another or replace it with a stronger one, it could burn out the motor, first try.

No integrations, I've been over this.

No more minimization, other than maybe the front circle. The body of this thing without the front and battery cage are the size of a maverick, just thick all the way around and not just at the clip.

The handle is small and uncomfortable. My pinky doesn't fit on. This makes it hard to hold all of the weight one handed. The trigger is also too big for one finger, but not big enough for two. Which is ok if you're going for full auto, but I'm a semi auto/3 shot burst kind of guy.

The chains hold stefans very snugly; like stefans in the Mav turret. No barrel material change needed IMO.

I have some major overhaul I'm working on though. Thanks again to nate#2 with some basic comments to help out with this.

Tomorrow I'll grab some D batteries, and do range and speed tests for you all.

Keef: No chains and no batteries, it's slightly front heavy. With both, it's terrible lol. without the faux barrel on the front, there's really no where to grab onto either ha. I'll probably be adding a grip to the bottom near the front.

Is this gun very complicated to work on? As in do the internals require a chart to navigate like the longshot. Another question, do we have to worry about parts flying out when we open the gun?

Good you asked actually. Yes. A very fancy, multilevel chart. so far I see about 3 or 4 layers of parts on each side of the plunger. Tomorrow if I feel up to the huge challenge I'll work on those charts.

No parts flew out for me. Put it back together and it's working just fine (no batteries -.-) so you should be fine. The hatch over the power button falls out easily, and the top nstrike rail clip thing pops out like always, but nothing important.

Very very very awesome. If I had the money I would SO go out and get one. Just because it look so kool. Good job getting good pics of the internals. Looks in theory less complex than a AEG gearbox, but a hell alot more screws. ;)

Good luck to everyone modding that beast!

Added to the directory.

The only thing that bothers me is the small plunger tube.

Thanks splitlip. I think it is safe to say people will be using this belt connection technique for a while.

Tube is smallish looking for sure. But it does look to have better size and potential then the recon.

Split If the Vulc is open and you happen to have a recon torn apart could you do a comparison with that plunger?

Splitlip I have a question. without the catch belt box or the top hatch wont the chain just fall off? Especially with a double belt.

Also I just did this exact mod today, splitlip beat me to posting it. I plan a integration and cosmetics for tommarow.

Yeah, the chain falls off. What of it? ;) I've got a fix for it that's part of the major overhaul I mentioned before though. When are you gonna post your stuff?

You've said that like 5 times now, and you spelled tomorrow wrong each time lol.
