Ok, so here are my thoughts

I'm scared of what FA_24's going to do.
So, what happens once the chain comes out? does it just dangle and get in the way? I'm going to have to fix that somehow...

Damn, General Cole and joeyaglr444 beat me to the chain coming out thing. Oh well.

That shell ejection, Its common sense.

Can we please stop the small talk, and speculation of what we think this gun will be.
This is ridiculous, Im beginning to wish i never started this topic.

From now on can we please only put up Hard Evidence?
None of this "I THINK ITS A BELT FED MACHINEGUN"
or "ITS GOT BATTERIES?!?!? F*CK THIS"
IF you found an article or a picture by all means put it up, make sure it hasn't been put up before.
because every time someone sees a new post on this topic they think its a new picture of a new heavily built guy.

I reiterate. Take a good close looks at the chains. especially the last link poking out from under the tripod. See it? Ok look reaaaaaaaaaaal close. It is not the same shape as the rest. It does not have the air restrictor cross on the end, the central part is shorter, the thinner end part is longer. It's not a casing for a dart. It's wither a feeder link or the way to attach multiple chains together. It has 25 casings. It's not called the Vulcan 27.

Ok, time for me to put in some more input, so

1) There are 27 links on the chain. 25 of them can hold darts. The two on either end apparently are bolt-thingys.

2) The AR's shouldnt be too hard to drill out, and besides, you act like you didn't expect there to be any AR's.

3) I think they might have developed a new kind of dart, since the darts flying out of the gun on the box don't seem like screamer darts.

4) FA-24 might not even do a mod for this if it isn't good.

EDIT: Dang, OberonFox beat me to the first point I made.

From the picture of the chains, it doesn't even look like there is a restrictor in there. It looks like it is just a peg, no spring-and-prong bullshit.

The difference between the shells on display and the ones spent out the gun are they are backwards.

OberonFox and and Salmon,
my point about the Ar's being on the chain are that it'll take much longer, and more chance to screw up taking them out than if the AR was in the actual gun. that way, you would only need to take out one.
I'm sorry that I didn't understand what you meant by end posts, but I understand now. That was my bad.
While I don't think they'll make a new kind of darts, I really hope they do because all my sonic darts are really weak. Also, The darts being shot out and the darts in the belt don't look like the white one.

Ok, I do not have enough time, but could someone please do the scale comparison to the darts to the gun and figure out the size? Like some one did with the recon?

Ol' Sluggy already did.

Quick! Make an algorithim to find out how big it is based on the rail!

It's anywhere from 24? to 28? inches based on the dimensions I've measured of the distance from the rail stop to the little spring-loaded rail catch. This measurement comes from the same integration rail that's on the underside of the faux barrel attachment for the Recon.
Posted Image

I can't find anything else to measure from on the image and it's pretty hard to gauge taking into account perspective if there's any kind of focal distortion, although it's not terribly distorted so the margin of error isn't too bad.

Biggest can mean a lot of things. With 6 "D" batteries inside this thing probably weighs a lot more than most of the blasters to which we are accustomed.

That "white dart with black tip" could just be a normal orange dart with a blue tip - under very bright lights/flash. Dart foam is rather shiny, and could easily reflect more light that the plastic - enough to wash out the orange color we would easily recognize, and provide a stark contrast that would make the blue tip look black. (Look how the Sonics look - almost a light grey.) There does seem to be quite a lot of light bouncing off that sign in the background, so this could conceivably be just an orange dart.

Also, they look a lot more orange than white on the packaging in the image.

(I'm a bit of an amateur videographer, my wife would say more of a video-nut, so lighting issues like this appears to be just pop out at me sometimes.)

All this speculation is making me sick to my stomach.

Are you just a fan of hyperbole? Or do you really take nerf guns and internet forums so seriously that they cause physiological side-effects?

It is a ludachris idea for a weapon to expel its spent shells into a box.

You should realize that Ludachris (really spelled Ludacris)is a no talent, rapper hack, and ludicrous is "Laughable or hilarious because of obvious absurdity or incongruity." (Dictionary.com)

I still can't wait to see this gun. Is it possible that they would use a motor to mechanically retract the plunger, in a similar manner to the early guns that use the gear system?

Ludachris is actually just a misspelling. The real word is "ludicrous," and the crappy rapper is "ludacris." If you are going to flame somebody for a misspelling, check your spelling first....

Kabuki, I don't take nerf that seriously.
( I am a fan of hyperbole if you took my statement litterally i hope you get fed to the creatures of the deep)
but this is all childish talk the speculation of it and all. (we really should stop) Apologies for my spelling mistakes.

P.S I love how you pointed out my mistakes you must be really really smart.

If you can't see that writing, here's what it says:

"What is that? It can't be a handle, and the ugly mullet kid is looking through it, so it must be a sight or something. But why isn't it on the actual product???"

And I know some of you might be thinking, "Thank you, Captain Obvious!" or whatever right now, but some people might not have recognized this. I didn't. :o

Actually, I didn't notice it either until you pointed it out, but if you look closely you can see that the handle is still there, and the "sight" is attached to it. They probably just removed the sight to do the demonstration. Sorry if you already figured that out.
P.S. First post!
EDIT: Smeagolsaur is right, it is the open lid of the belt box/holder.

BREAKING NEWS! (Well, not really)

I found a great source of pictures of the vulcan, as well as a variety of other guns, Including a GREEN unity power system!

Vulcan pics:

And the list of pics that they came from that features other stuff.
http://gizmodo.com/3...on-man-repulsor

I hope I helped out with these great, close up pics!

EDIT: Oh, No! I have just made a startling discovery! The dart-tag hyperfire set is indeed a re-package.
Look at the bottom left of this picture.
http://gizmodo.com/p...2008/1000756249
Even if it is a different color, re-packages are boring.

At first it looked like the open lid of the ammo box.

Upon second glance it looks like it is indeed some item (perhaps sight) attached to the handle.
