I don't get my kicks out of you,
I don't feel the way I used to do.
I know its bad,

But I’m just not the angel you knew.

This gun looks like it has a lot of potential. I'm not too sure if I didn't come across this while reading the postings, but has anyone suggested or know if the new gun could be connected to any of the older N-Strike series guns? If so, that would be pretty sweet. Irregardless though, this gun is going to be sick!

Irregardless is not a word. It's the bastard child of irrespective and regardless. Sorry, Pet Peeve.

Back on topic: The rails that it features seems to indicate that it will be related somehow. However, a lot of the Dart Tag stuff has the same rail system, so we'll have to wait and see how Hasbro markets it. They've already mentioned using the accessory pack on it, although I can't imagine why you'd want a laser sight on a machine gun emplacement.

There's a lot of negative ideas about this blaster so far, especially since its battery powered. I'm sure we as a community will be able to come up with something to bring everything we can out of this blaster.

Why can't we speculate? isn't that what this is all about? and why SHOULDN"T we contact Hasbro? Do you just want to find stuff out first?

O damn! They dun found out my schemes....

matteroniandcheese,
Your member account at NerfHaven has been temporarily suspended.

Your account will not be functional until July 1 2035, 10:00PM (depending on your timezone). This is an automated process and you do not need to do anything to expediate the unsuspension process.

Board Address: http://nerfhaven.com/forums/index.php

To respond to this illiterate jackass, NO this NOT all about speculation. Speculate on NHQ. We have a certain level of quality here, and speculation does NOT add to it. You shouldn't contact them because the chances of you finding out anything are slim to none at best.

Chew on this for a second. Did you ever think that maybe I KNOW certain things already, but legal issues keep me from posting everything. I knew about the Recon MONTHS before anyone posted even a HINT about it.

It all boils down to this. Guessing about shit just goes nowhere. It's not worth wasting anyone's time trying to guess how a gun is going to work. Just have a little patience and we will all get to find out about it when it launches.

Lame. The dude mouthed off to you so you gave him the 9k special? If you weren't connected you'd either be speculating, or ignoring the thread like anyone else. The speculation is confined to this thread, and it isn't bothering anyone but you. Your legal obligations to Hasbro aren't remotely a factor here. If someone gets in touch with them and happens to get hold of a press release that you missed out on for some reason, what difference does that make to you? If you knew about the gun months ago why haven't you been keeping us up to date with the press releases? The guy you banned hasn't broken any of the rules in the COC. I think he deserves another shot.

Phil,

I don't have to justify my actions to anyone but the owners of this site. If I had the time or cared enough, I could pull out several others who were banned just for back sassing.

How do you know it only bothers me? Have you taken a poll?

If someone can get a hold of Hasbro, more power to them. I know how the company is set up and I was really just trying to save people the time they would waste on the phone or with unanswered emails going to the corporate office.

Press releases go out sporadically. It's not like I'm on their mailing list or something. I have had to sign Non-disclosure agreements with Hasbro in the past to get certain information. They tell me what I can and cannot mention here. Come to a war sometime and see what I tell some people that I can't mention on the boards. I know you used to.

You are free to think what you want. If you have a problem with the way I handled this, take it up with Vacc or CX.

For the record, I'm not going to engage in a flame war here. I just thought someone like yourself deserved a response.

Hey, if moderator sass is a good enough reason for you, then that's your call. The kid waited a month for member approval to make that post, and I just thought he deserved the same frank reply you gave me. In any case, you did give me the benefit of a reasonable and flame-free reply, and you put a lot of time in around here, so it's far from my place to give you a hard time. As for your other comment,

Come to a war sometime and see what I tell some people that I can't mention on the boards. I know you used to.

You'll remember it's the sort of things that get said at NJ nerf wars when I'm not around to hear them that put me off in the first place.

Fair enough my friend. Is the guy I banned a friend or acquaintance of yours? If so, you should have told me. I'd be more than willing to give that guy another shot. (Yes, this board is RAMPANT with nepotism). In all honesty, he just caught me at the EXACT wrong time to post something like that. Here's how I saw it:

Me: Frantically posting to keep the more eccentric members in check. (see imaseoulman's post on page 4 for example)
matncheese: posting the complete OPPOSITE of what I said to do
Me: making an example

Yes, I'll admit I had to make an example of the guy. You did argue a valid point so I would be willing to give him a second shot. PM me about it.

Bottom line, I was PMSing a little last night, and that poor bastard just got the full brunt of it.

The other part I know all about. I think we can all be adults about it at this point though. We can discuss.

I see the Vulcan being used in a Human versus Zombie scenario.

I picture a person with a backpack of shells and a car battery/drill battery hooked up to a Vulcan just Rambo-ing people down.

I also see Nerf making a really bad chain system that jams.

Finally, I see less than 20 feet stock ranges and a 30-40 foot modified range.

To sum this up: Not bad, but not war worthy...HvZ with this though...in-fucking-credible!

I don't see why the hell so many people thought this was going to be a flywheel gun. It would NEVER be a flywheel gun. Nerf doesn't do flywheels, because they're not idiots (unlike BuzzBee)

I'm guessing this gun works like the Razorbeast, except with batteries replacing the crank.

I stand corrected.

But still, I think they should have learned from their mistake there. The site you linked me to flat out says that gun is horrible. Also, flywheels seem like they leave a little too much leniency for shooting random small objects, and with Nerf's focus on air restriction and other safety mechanisms, I doubt they'd make another one.

Plus, nerf's previous Chain-fed guns weren't flywheel guns. I still think the Vulcan is a battery-powered Razorbeast.

I would not be surprised if was based on their NSECT electrical pneumatic dart firing mechanism,it could be easily/cheaply adapted to being belt fed.
It takes a lot of torque to fire a Razorbeast and I don't think they could adapt that system with only a $39.99 retail.

I second that, AssasinNF. It won't be a crank-turn (obviously), but it will be alot like a Razorbeast. Also, I think that box on the side might be used for battery storage  Well, it is 6 D batterys.

The little critters of nature, they don't know that they're ugly. That's very funny, a fly marrying a bumble bee. I told you I'd shoot, but you didn't believe me. Why didn't you believe me?

My bad, I posted before I read the entire thread, after seeing so many people worry about this gun being a flywheel gun, and failed to see OMC's posts.

Speculation aside, I was just pointing out that I doubt Nerf will ever make another flywheel blaster. I don't even think nerf darts are suitable for flywheels. Have you ever tried shooting nerf darts out of a buzzbee flywheel gun? I know it doesn't work very well with the Mech 6, and the Triple Mech (I've tried), and it probably doesn't work with the tommy 20 either. And the Gyro Strike had to use those wierd-ass Gyro missiles. Nerf Micros would probably get chewed to pieces, especially Sonic micros, being the most flimsy of all micros in my experience.

What do you think? I just believe Nerf is way beyond flywheels at this point.

I can barely tolerate the whole "whoa, it's going to be good for emplacements", or "I'll use it in HvZ games", but who the hell died and made everyone the Nerf prophet? It's getting irritating.

Eh, it looks like a fun toy.

And it looks like it'll be a bitch to use, cause you have to pick up all the darts afterwards.

Actually, being a huge ALIENS fan I immediately thought of those upon seeing the vulcan, but figured it would be an obscure reference at best. Thanks for proving me wrong.

Edit: Also, my friends are really divided on the vulcan. Many still remember how the team with the most RF20s pretty much won our first war (all our wars are stock) by default, and are not looking forward to potentially getting diddled by these. My girlfriend and I, on the other hand, are psyched about them.

Let's hope not, As much as I like the sound of a 4 foot long Nerf gun than takes about 7 Seconds ( 7 Very Long Seconds) to fire, maybe this thing will be good.

As for Modding, I heard plenty of stories about mods to that electric abomination of buzzbee's. The stories usually ended with the Gun catching on fire, melting, making loud popping noises followed by a small explosion and puff of very black smoke. So moding the motor system would be a risky proposition. I hope the Vulcan Doesn't turn out to be "Tommy 20 Vers 2.0- Twice as likely to give your position away, and useless if you actually intend to shoot more than 3 feet."

I'm withholding judgment for now..
Edit: I found a Photo Guys..
