There I was, aimlessly Stumbling through the web, when I happened to come across this thread, here at good ol' NH.

It made my night.

I'm really impressed with both the mod and this level of publicity.

Good stuff.

Anyway, back to Stumbling.

For your additional Lancers, consider putting the LEDs in series instead of in parallel this time. It's a lot easier to calculate the resistor for a series circuit.

However, do you know if you can connect all of your lighting in series with one 9volt? I don't think LED lights take up too much electrical current, so I don't see why it shouldn't work. Is there enough room in the shell for running the extra wires? Do you think that you will have to cut additional holes in the shell internals to make the wires run the length of the gun?

Oh, and it goes without saying that your mod is probably the coolest thing ever. Many congratulations.

Bendystraw: I originally planned on the LED's running in a series instead of parallel. I did notice however that when they were in a series every led after the first was duller and duller and duller. This is not a good look.

As far as, could all Led's be powered by one 9Volt? I think so, I just have to check up on it. I would be happy just keeping the two 9 volts in the back and eliminating the front two.

There are a definitely a few changes I plan on making in future models.

Oh my god, that's beautiful. There's only like two things that I would have changed. Or maybe they are already changed, but I couldn't tell from the pictures. If I did something like that it would have no electronics because I have no clue how to work that stuff. I say that this is now my favorite of your mods, even above the eyes of fire. Congrats on making a beautiful gun.

No. A necro is a month (30 days usually) and that was not even 20.

Oh my god, taking a black nerf gun to a park won't do shit. A cop will be called by a parent, or someone, you'll shit you pants when they come, drop the gun, and run. They aren't gonna "pop a cap in your ass" they will just aim unless there are any sudden movements or pointing it towards people or anything.

Oh, and I never posted any feedback yet. I love the gun, looks just like the lancer. Are you really going to use the chainsaw though? I'd think you use this for long range assassin, anyway.

If Angel is using this for actual Nerfing, I doubt anyone would call the heat if everyone else's guns were yellow, blue, purple, and orange.

Since I never actually said anything in this topic the first time around I might as well now: this is amazing. I am making something else from GoW and this was my inspiration. Also, (I know that you were matching this to the actual gun Forsaken) but what is the tactical significance of LED lights on the side of a gun?

I understand that keef but why would someone have LED lights on a gun? My question is not why Forsaken put it there, but why the creators of GoW would in the first place. The only real reson I can think of is for cosmetic purposes and even then I don't think it looks that cool

Have you ever played Gears of War? I'll take that as a no. If you ever played, you would know that it is extremely helpful and saves your ass frequently.

Yes, I've played Gears of War and I don't remember the lights ever doing anything, but who knows it's been a few months since I've played the game.

For example, A Gear holding the Lancer will have blue lights and the Locusts holding Lancers will have red lights.

Oh and by the way this puppy will be up for sale in the next month or so.

I never caught that when I played the game, thanks! The lights don't sound like they will "save your ass frequently" or are even helpful, but are very cool.
Also I can just imagine how much this beast will sell for.

Yeah, I saw it, I like his paintjob, but where are the lights? I knew someone was going to do this, I'm kind of amazed of how cleanly he did it though, it's actually pretty good. Not better than the original, but still good.

that is insane. excellent job, and great write up. maybe you should talk to the makers of Gears of War 2, maybe they would base the new lancer for the game off yours? that would be awesome.....
