I hate rap. Most other music is okay on a case-by-case basis, but I prefer "classic" rock. AC/DC, The Who, Queen, The Wailers and the Kingsmen (although, Louie Louie is all I've heard from either of the two), ELO, Donny Iris, STYX, America, Led Zeppelin, and many others (most of which I don't even know the name of the song let alone the band).

The second worst day of my life: The day I found out a variety station (BOB FM) bought out my city's (fantastic) classic rock station. , again

And those kids that are getting all stereotypical about Rap, listen to Rhymenocerous vs. Hip Hop Opotimus by Flight of the Conchords. Not all 'rap' is bad.

I looked it up on Youtube and listened to it. Yeah, the lyrics are funny, but it still has the same effect on me as every other rap song: I feel like ripping my ears off and/or committing suicide. No, seriously.

Excuse me while I go listen to some good music. It's necessary for my health, you see.

"Okay, let's give it to 'em right now!" -Jack Ely

My favorite Metal band is Kamelot all the way.

Reggaeton; I'm sure none of ya'll listen to that. Yeah Im Latino.

Plus Nocturnal Rites (Vengence)

Basically Techno, Metal/Power Metal, Reggaeton, Not rap/hip-hop

I'm pretty into 70's-80's rock. AC/DC, Zeppelin, Kiss, Guns N' Roses, Aerosmith, Clapton, Pink Floyd, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Black Sabbath, Bon Jovi, Creedence, Van Halen, Blue Oyster Cult, Kansas, even a little Nirvana. I also love the Beatles. I don't really have a problem with rap and hip-hop nor the people who listen to it, but I don't listen to it, at all. Frankly I think rap and hip-hop work best when applied to comedy.

I don't mean to diss it, I'm just telling the truth. If people like it, that's cool, but I really don't.

I definitely agree, however, that you shouldn't judge a person based on their music choice.

Why does everyone hate rap? I'm not trying to change your opinions, listen to what you want, but there must be some reason why 90% of you hate it.

I listen to a lot of music, I couldn't list all the bands to save my life. To narrow it down a bit, I like everything from classic rock to dance music and techno. There is a wide spectrum in there. One song I really like at the moment is Race the Dream by Kill Hannah. Anyone heard it?

I like rock mainly. Acctually the exact same bands that Retiate does because he recremended them all to me. But with one exception, Coheed and Cambria. Also I have a true hate for rap and hip-hop.

Tool, sparta, RATM, deftones, soundgarden, STP, alice in chains, black sabbath, rush, zeppelin, the occasional rap here and there if the beats good, white stripes, toadies, sublime, matisyahu, avenged sevenfold, trivium, metallica, smashing pumpkins, RHCP, the offspring, NIN, and many many more. But you get the general idea.

What usually turns me off of rap is the lyrics. True, rock lyrics can be equally mysogynistic and violent, but rap instrumentation tends to be a lot more sparse, bringing the lyrics to the forefront. I've found that I usually concentrate on the music in any given song and ignore the actual words, but that's harder to do with rap. I've stumbled across a few rap albums where the lyrics are different from the norm, and I tend to like them more. (like one of my favorites of any genre, Deltron 3030, which is a sci-fi rap Effeminate. That, and Dan the Automator is a great DJ. His presence was missed from later Gorillaz albums.)

Bags, The new album technically isn't out until November 13th, but it leaked on the internetz about 2 weeks ago. I didn't feel bad about downloading it, since I knew I would buy it anyway. Check your PMs.

For all you rap haters, listen to real rap/hip hop. 99% of the shit you hear on the radio sucks my dry, dry balls. If you've listened to some real stuff with an open mind and still don't like it then, you can say you don't like it,
