I modded a newly acquired Titan to have some serious stopping power. I present to you the Mongo Titan.

This puppy fires 1" FBR stefans. Now onto the write up.

I was in the hardware store when I noticed that 1" FBR actually fits very well into 1" pvc. (Finally things are making sense) Then I thought what better weapon to fire 1" FBR than the Titan.

Take out the ball bearings in the gun,plug the pump,remove the air restrictors.(thanks ompa!!)

Now on the end of the orange barrel after you removed the air restrictor there will be a ring making the inner diameter more narrow for about a 1/4" long. Sand that down untill it looks like this.


Now take about 21" of 1" pvc and sand/epoxy the bottom of the barrel and jam it inside the orange titan barrel. (Make sure you stick your 1"pvc barrel in before hand to make sure it fits.) By the way it fits like a glove.

Now make sure none of the epoxy drips down onto the white threads or your titan barrel will not be able to go back onto the titan.

Now epoxy around the seam where the titan stock barrel and the new barrel meet.

This helps ensure air tightness.

Now wait for your epoxy to dry and bam you got a beast with some serious stopping power.




As you can see I have a coupler on mine. This is because I cut way too much off it thinking I had the barrel too long. In all honesty anything smaller than 21" will send the dart spiraling out of control.

The Stefans are made of 1" FBR. I have never seen another write up involving these and think I am the first to use them. We have nanos 3/8", Micros 1/2" Megas 5/8" and now Mongo's 1". Mongos sounded appropriate to me.

The ranges are pretty good considering the size of the ammo.
Just eyeballing it I am assuming it can hit 120'. Official ranges coming soon.

I made a video where I fire 15 darts at the cardboard backing that came with my Pump shotgun.
Here is the ammo that was used in the making of this video. They were all made with 7/0 splitshot fishing wieghts. Only the silver one was made with 3/0.

This video has been edited so you only see the shots in a matter of seconds so dont think for a second My Titan is semi-auto.

There are also the 3/4" ones which I believe are called jumbos but 1/2" and 5/8" will always be the only true Stefans to me.

If you took longer sections of this foam you could make homemade arrows as well. Someone did this a long time ago. You could simply make a missile instead of an arrow and leave off the fins. That would make good homemade Titan missiles.

Very nice once again Forsaken. Where did you buy the FBR? I haven't seen them in that size before. 21" barrel. That is crazy. I really like it and will probably do it if I can find some Mongo FBR. Mongo...Interseting choice of name.

I feel sorry for that cardboard in the video.

Ow ow ow ow I can't stop thinking about what it would feel like being shot with that thing... Ow ow ow ow ow... It looks really nice but I would be afraid to nerf with that thing.

Hot damn, man that's crazy. Congrats on performing another clean, proffesional, original, and painful mod!

All I can think of is the crazy accuracy you must get. Seriously, LBB ranges with 1" stefans? That's abso-freakin-lutely insane!

Ryan- I found the 1" FBR at a Rona.

Black Blade- I have had my friend shoot me with this thing from 25 feet I was wearing a sweater. This thing hits more like a wallop and less like a sting feeling that micros leave. The only Mongos that hurt are the ones with taller domes. If they have a smooth dome on top they arent that bad.

Lukeinator- The accuracy is fantastic.

The thing I like the most about the Mongo's is the fact that they are tough. Most micros that get stuck in cardboard are toast because either they get ripped or the foam stops dead and the glue tip keeps going. Not these puppies. Out of all the Mongos I've had stuck in the cardboard only 1 got a tear and it was really small.

The majority of my posts have a specific goal. The goal of this post was to preserve the well-being of our tender new member, madmax. Other posts have been warnings about safety issues, or other matters of similar importance. It isn't up to the likes of you to decide whether or not I'm backseat moderating. In fact, you're accusation is just as much if not more of a backseat moderation than my warning. What I'm trying to say here is that while my post was made with good intentions, yours was posted out of irrational anger. I grew out of it. For the sake of the community, I hope you grow out of it as well.

Easy boys/girls/other genders. Dark Infection made it obvious that it was a necro. Lets assume that madmax can read, as he should have done so in the CoC. Further input is useless -- One person can easily enforce their own arguments/statements. Some of us here, including myself at times, need to lay off, and stop thinking we are the "vets" around here. I have been here longer than either of you, and have alot more posts here as well. But does that make me a "vet"? No. It means I have had something to say and/or contribute. I say the big guys should be the ones to tell the new recruits about what should and shouldn't be done. I know other seasoned, mature members here also accept that idea as well.
