I was walking through the Outdoor store and I saw a few of them on the shelf. It was an open box so I cocked the gun and fired. It made a loud banging sound and my eyes lit up. $30 later I brought it home.
It fires 3 balls but the range is horrible and the accuracy is also horrible unless its under 10 feet.
Here are some pics of the internals.
The second picture is of the catch and trigger.
Now onto the modification.
First take your gun apart. Then take off the big orange ball holder.
Then cut the closest groove to the big orange part.
Ok now sand out the inside of the orange nub untill you can fit a 1/2"PVC coupler inside.
Epoxy the coupler inside. Make sure it is straight.
Epoxy the Brown Funnel like thing into the Orange nub.
After doing all that it should look like this.
Now wrap some E-tape around a small peice of 19/32" I beleive it was 1.5" inches or so.
Lather it up in epoxy and put that in the brown peice so it fits snug in the narrow part of the funnel like peice.
Close to where the PVC coupler is.
After that has been put into place it should look like this.
The 1/2" pvc coupler will hold the barrel straight and airtight. The 19/32" will allow me to get the dart closer to the air supply which always means good things when it comes to nerf.
Now lets talk about the spring. Its a good spring but it can be compressed more and the catch can handle more power too. So whip out your hot glue gun a small washer and lots of glue sticks. Normally the spring would sit inside the small brown peice at the end of the plunger shaft. By adding hot glue at the base, it will compress the spring further creating more tension resulting in shooting goodness. By adding a second thinner spring to the inside it adds even more tension creating better shooting goodness.
Thanks to Hexen for the Spring! The washer Is placed inside the big horseshoe of hotglue created here so that it stays straight when compressed.
Here are the pics of the plunger spring and alot of hotglue.
I would have loved to use washers but they need to be the exact same size and I couldn't find any.
Now put the plunger assembly back in the white tube and now hot glue between the white, brown and orange peice at the top.
Now before I put all that back in place, I remembered the extension spring that would return the cocking handle to the front was rather weak and I wanted to strengthen that for an overall better feel of the gun.
Take the spring and loop it around the screw port and underneath the orange peice so it will sit snug.
The spring now pulls the handle back with more force making it feel like a better gun. Sometimes before it would only go like half way back. Here is a pic of how it should look after you have done the extension spring mod.
Now I added some foam because this gun is fairly loud when it fired.
Adding this foam seemed to ahve reduced the sound by maybe 20% which is pretty good considering I couldnt add much foam.
Now put it all back together and its time to make the barrell.
Take a 12" peice of 9/16" brass and add some tightening rings to one side. Now take around 11" of Pvc and nest the brass in the PVC. so that the tightening rings are visible when barrel is pulled out. Nest it inside the Pvc using e-tape and then follow it up with hot glue or epoxy when your sure you got it in the spot you want.
This barrel will work with the double coupler system.
I tried using several barrels, 8" 10" 12". All the ranges were the same except the 12 was really accurate. I think it can use the 12" because of its massive plunger chamber.
Ranges are great.

98'
These darts were ok but I am sure it can get better with some good darts. Ill post when I go range testing again.
In conclusion:
This gun packs a serious punch and I am glad I picked it up. The overall feel of the gun is just amazing. This gun doesnt have as much recoil because the plunger head doesnt actually hit the front like most nerf guns. Instead it is stopped closer to where the trigger is. It is a good thing this beast has a trigger guard because one false twitch on the trigger and bang! However The gun can be dropped while cocked and will not fire. The spring can be strengthened no more either. I tried but the catch wasn't catching. Here is a comparison photo and a comparison video.
