#13342 Mod For Cps 2500

Posted by Jappo on 28 November 2003 - 01:26 AM in Modifications

I recently modded my CPS into a loser Rifle. I Took apart the gun, carefully cut off the spout, removed the air restrictors/washers/mesh, and added a 3/4" to 1/2" coupler. I then proceded to add a 22" long PVC Barrel (1/2"). It takes about 15 pumps to get it to reasonable pressure, and 20 to get it to its maximum. I was just wondering if PVC is the best to be using with a air pressure loser rifle or if i should try and switch it over to a telescoping brass barrel. Another thing is if i hot glued the hole in the pump would it make pumping take less time/pumps. Any info would be helpful.

P.S. I havn't fully range tested but I'm guessing this gun shoots about 120' at 20 pumps.

I don't know if this has to much to do with what your talking about but here it goes anyways. When I was at Rona a while back I was looking through the hoses for a trigger for my friends homemade. But what I saw in the aisle gave me an interesting idea. It was a Circular 0 shaped sprinkler that was about 3 inches high. I was thinking if you cut off the top with the holes, and lowered it down enough to have a 1 inch wall, fill it with some cutoffs with a bit of weight, you could make a decent landmine. After you have finished this you could hook it up to some PVC tubing and hook it up to a ball valve resevoir thing about 10' away, or you could just make a trip wire. This would be a perfect trap device. Anyways, I don't know if this has much to do with 'nades, kinda getting off on a tangent. If it were possible to make cheap, good nerf gernades i'm sure they would be out there. The cheapest thing you can use is a paintball gernade, which are expensive, or fireworks which are VERY dangerous to be using in a Nerf war.

#13345 Scuba Gun

Posted by Jappo on 28 November 2003 - 01:49 AM in Homemades

Ya so a while back Nello and I were working on some homemades when we got another one of friends to start nerfing. The sweet thing is his dad is an FX guy and has tones of sweet materials to work with. Anyways long story short we got a scuba tank that has a max PSI of 1000, and a PSI meter and sweet trigger system for it. It has about a 20" barrel. If i'm lucky I will soon get a picture of it up. This gun is extremly accurate and powerful.

P.S. I wasn't sure if this was a homemade or modification, and another note is that We would never pump it up to 1000 PSI, it would warp the darts, 1/2" PVC has a rating of either 300 or 600PSI and for obvious reasons it would kill.

#13428 Working On Grenades

Posted by Jappo on 30 November 2003 - 01:45 AM in Homemades

this is going in the way of just using buck-shot from guns, which is not gonna be all that great for getting people in cover. Gernades in the army use explosives to fire shrapnel, so in this case we can't use explosives to fire foam bits because of obvious melting flesh issues. So in this sence we have to rethink the intire gernade idea. Which brings you back to what paintballers have made, which is kinda pathetic considering how much enginering goes into paintballing. Gernades are just to hard to make. The cheapest thing you could get is a spring loaded film canister, and even that would be a bit hard to do. I'm not trying to discourage anyone from trying to make 'em, but as I was saying to Nello awhile back, if the idea of a nerf gernade was easily possible you think someone would have made them already. Hopefully someone will be able to think of an ingenious way to make cheap, working, safe gernades. Also instead of working on gernades that actually fire foam, you could maybe work on stuff the would make urban SWAT tactics easier, for example some sort of Smoke Gernade (A flour filled film canister). Good luck to everyone.

PS Love the 3D Gun/Gernade Designs, they look so damn cool.

#13430 Homade Rifle & Rl

Posted by Jappo on 30 November 2003 - 02:00 AM in Homemades

I thought he was using a Basketball pump because they are so small... and sexy? Another thing is what fun would nerf wars be without homemades. Many people can't get there hands on old guns, and many of the new guns are expensive. Even a simple ball valve gun saves you 15 bucks from buying a brand new nerf gun. Not that nerf guns arn't worth the money (RF20 *drool*).

#13431 Several Mods

Strong Arm, Sling Shot, Manta Ray, Sharpshooter, Electric eel

I might have overskimmed some of the mod sites when looking for these mods, sorry if I did. If anyone knows where some of these mods might be located or if you have an idea for them, please post away.

#13452 Working On Grenades

Posted by Jappo on 30 November 2003 - 01:58 PM in Homemades

Look i'm not trying to discourage anyone, sorry if I did. Just pointing a fact out. But you have to admit, paintball has much more money going into new technology, and the last thing that I saw of a paintball gernade looked like a whoopie cushion. I also think making a paint gernade is a little easier then making a Nerf type gernade. I hope that someone does make a gernade, that would be sweet. Even i'm working on a couple ideas, so if a breakthrough comes it would be great. Sorry for being so negative about trying to make it, its just that to have too high expectations for this idea, and then have it fail(not saying it will). Set your expectations low, because when you succed it is good, and when you fail you don't feel so bad. Good luck to anyone who make a gernade because we would show up those paintballers with their crappy whoopie cushions.

Good job Alexthebeast. Just tell us when you get hit by the shrapnel if you can actually feel it.

Wtrent10 a 'nade is a Gernade for short.

#13534 Working On Grenades

Posted by Jappo on 02 December 2003 - 01:10 AM in Homemades

You could of course get an m-80 and stuff it inside a tennis ball full of foam that is held together some how. I would suggest using rubber cement, coat both halves of the ball with it an allow it to dry, fill halves with foam and an m-80 in the middle with the fuse coming out of the ball. Put the halves together and there you go.

The only problem I see with sticking explosives in a tennis ball filled with foam is the fact that the foam would most likely melt when the m-80 explodes. M-80's are hard to get in places other then the states (I.E. Canada), and the fact that M-80's can explode pumpkins very easily. Maybe if you were to make a nerf bomb with it though..... Well good luck with actual explosives in your Nerf 'Nades (NN's ^_^ )

Has anyone considered stationary booby traps? These would be easier to design as they do not need to be thrown and could have just one or two dirrections of firing.

I had an idea for a Nerf land mine check it out Here

I've only tried one orginal mod, and it turned out fine, in fact i think i could even make it work better.

#13607 Plunger Gun

Posted by Jappo on 02 December 2003 - 11:36 PM in Homemades

Ok with the idea of the a Nerf bow I once owned I got an idea of a gun that worked on the principle of using a plunger to push the air rapidly forward. I took a 12" section of 1" PVC and stuck a 14 " 1/2" peice of PVC with a lubed end cap on the end. It created a semi-airtight seal. I then proceded to add a 1" to 1/2" coupler to the end of the 1" PVC and then added a 5 " section of 1/2" PVC for a barrel. To propel the plunger forward when you pulled it back i used an old bike tube (Yes I am that cheap). Sadly when the whole thing was put together it the plunger did not return fast enough to fire a dart more then 15'. It was also very hard to pull back and keep it steady. To correct the problem of the distance you could use a better spring (I.E. a trampoline spring), but this makes it very hard to pull back.

Just thinking about it now, you could mod this gun with a longer barrel, but it at a 75 Degree angel and put some buck shot in it to use it like a mortar. If anyone has ever tried to make a gun like this and have it succed, please post away. If you have any comments about this mod please do tell. Some constructive critiscm would be helpful.

PS this gun is not at all acurate unless you have extremly strong arm muscles to hold a taunt gun perfectly aimed and to release it without moving. Thats all I got today.

The site is back up so we can see his awesome creations. Man I like how much time you put into these Homemades to make them look so very cool. Mine have purple stains all over them, and are still white with the black lettering. Maybe I should spend some time on looks....

Hey 3D just wondering if you ever thought of selling these guns on EBay? I think you could try and proably make a good deal on them. You are an insperation for all homemade builders with your awesome designs and work you put into making them look so cool.

#13720 My Nerf Site

Posted by Jappo on 04 December 2003 - 10:28 PM in Off Topic

I don't get it... is there suppossed to be nothing on the web page  . Well anyways Templates are for the HTML handicapped. Use PHP instead of HTML, you can do soooooo much more including databases. My friend is working on a Gaming site using entire PHP, I will proablably release the address when it is 100% complete for the public.

#14720 Saddam Hussein - Captured

Posted by Jappo on 20 December 2003 - 02:27 AM in Off Topic

Well besides the fact that the NHL is so commercialized and the fact that the Stanley Cup was not supposed to be for Pro's, it was supposed to be for Amatuers. What the cup has become now is just, a.... a disgrace. We also won the Olympics Oh i'm sorry what was that?

#14723 Saddam Hussein - Captured

Posted by Jappo on 20 December 2003 - 02:37 AM in Off Topic

I'm sorry Canadians are just too proud for you too take Hockey away from us. You can have football, basketball, and lacross (which are all from canada) but not Hockey. Can we just end this stupid about who's country is better. Clearly we are too varied to point that out. While Canadians think that America is a capatalist money making machine, and Americians think Canada is a socialist crackpot, we can never agree on much. So back to how much Saddam sucks. Ya, I don't get it, wasn't it the Iraqi's that found him and then pointed it out to the soldiers? But w/e i'm glad he was caught and good luck prosecuting him. That will cause internation turmoil that could not be stopped if you tried him for warcrimes.

p.s. we also have stefan....Stay back!

Clearly the best is America's Army ops. I know it's blatant propaganda, but it's free and it's awsome. Though I really fail to see how it would encourage anyone to join the army; I usually die at least a third of the time.

You seem to die every game when I see you playing it.

#14870 Lord Of The Rings Iii

I thought it was good except the ending was soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo long and tedious.

#14871 Homemade Barrel

We hardly ever get it up too 200 PSI, mainly we get lazy from pumping it at about 160.

I did read them asshat, but they still made the ending to long. I mean they didn't even include the Part of freeing the Shire so there.

Dude the 9800 compared to the 9600 is like 2 fps more *wow*. And it also costs like 70 bucks more. Nuts to that idea.

#15063 Reduce Dart Drag

Posted by Jappo on 26 December 2003 - 12:55 AM in Modifications

zzi know someone who, through Eastman, was able to get me a sample of one ingredient in thins coating to use for barrels. This chemical is slicker than tefflon. THAT's what you call slick.

Slicker than teflon? How is that possible? (Lol) And how would it ever stick to anything? Man if you had a sheet of that and put it on your feet you would just keep going downhill.... even uphill.

#15090 Sm 1500

Did a single replacement with 12" PVC Barrel and blocked Pump. Havn't officially range tested it, did it outside in the rain (Damn you vancouver) and I got around 70, but I think I can get too 100 with a good Dart and nice weather conditions.

I think i'm going to nest a brass barrel inside as soon as the hobby shop gets some. I'm also gonna mod my other 1500 with a multi barrel as soon as I un-lazy myself.

Hope you all enjoyed!

#15153 Sm 1500

Posted by Jappo on 27 December 2003 - 10:31 PM in Modifications

Woah woah woah. I just wanted to single mod it because I wanted it to be lighter weight. I still got some more work to do to make it smaller and lighter. I am going to be multi-barreling my other SM 1500 so its all good. I think I may try a 10 inch barrel with this gun thanks for the tip. I will post some updated pics as soon as I finish making it look clean and I paint it with Nello's AirBrush ( :D ). I also think my other SM 1500 will be better for Multi Barrel mod because it will be better ballanced (I think). Also thank you Ares for the compliment.

#15229 Good Find

Posted by Jappo on 29 December 2003 - 01:01 PM in General Nerf

Hah! Man we are so lucky. It was in Real Canadian Superstore, Metropolis (The Mall), Vancouver (Burnaby to be more exact), BC, Canada (Duh!). Gonna have a modding party today and mod them along with some of the other guns we got for christmas!

#15230 The Stock Max Shot

Posted by Jappo on 29 December 2003 - 01:05 PM in General Nerf

I've heard it fires about 35 feet out of the box. I don't exactly see how it will be automatic but w/e. I'm also fairly sure its pretty accurate for a non-modded gun. Check on some of the modding sites, it ususally tells you the range and accuracy beforehand.

P.S. They are pretty cheap (For a new gun, 10 bucks CAN is good, The Urak Hai [However you spell it] Is 30 CAN if you guys want a marker of the prices in CAN)

#15244 Sm 2500

Posted by Jappo on 29 December 2003 - 05:00 PM in Modifications

After careful inspection I realize it is air powered, so its very hopeless to try and modify it less I risk major damage. I have to find a leak in the valve which is going to be impossible *sigh*. Well hopefully I will finish within 3 hours and then post some pics.

Edit: I have succefully tested the mod. I stuck a craola (spelling?) barrel on the end of one of the barrels and it appears to work. As soon as I get some brass I will post the completed project.

#15278 Dart Modification: Tape

Posted by Jappo on 30 December 2003 - 02:51 PM in Modifications

You can get the extra distance, but when I make stefans, I make about 100-300 at a time. So its pointless to tape everyone.

#15321 Pvc Pipes

Posted by Jappo on 31 December 2003 - 11:45 AM in Homemades

You could just cut it into 5 feet lengths i'mm pretty sure you could ride with it then. Those valves are just painted but the are normal ball valves.
