You guys don't eat all of them at once...? No wonder you have problems!

#1539 What Is The Best AirTech Gun?

Posted by Atticus on 18 February 2003 - 05:33 PM in General Nerf

Hmm, it's pretty funny that up until the AirTech modding thread, and I convinced some people to try the 3k, then Spoon and Cx did theirs, everyone liked the 2k. I wonder how many people have actually multi-barrelled it.

But anyway, I might have said this earlier I don't know, the 3k rocks, and I'm guessing anyone who was at the LANO can probably agree, since they're freakin' awesome.

#1224 So Yea, I Have A Brass AT3k Now....

Posted by Atticus on 09 February 2003 - 06:33 PM in Modifications

Glad ye like it. I knew someone would eventually brass theirs, as opposed to single barrelling it, and love it as much as I do.

#6110 Questions

Posted by Atticus on 27 June 2003 - 12:58 PM in General Nerf

Speaking of those fools at Dominos...

Way back in the day (aka a month or so ago), when our school Nerf wars were still going on, people would resort to all kinds of trickery to shoot people. One method was to dress up as a pizza man, delivery man, mail man, etc. Anyway, unknown to me at the time, my mom had ordered pizza for our family. I was in my room on my computer and I see a car with a Domino's sign on top of it... or that's atleast what they wanted me to think! I was on to them from the minute they pulled up. Now the guy was pretty good, he had a real pizza, a real uniform, and a real delivery route even, but that wasn't enough to fool me! As he was walking up our sidewalk, I grabbed my Crossbow and nailed that bitch right in the chest, and let out a victory "I GOT YOU BIAAAAAAAAATCH!" But this guy was too good for that, he played along still and even delivered the pizza, which we paid for! Sheesh... talk about dedication.

Since then, Domino's has refused to deliver to our house for some odd reason...

#3031 Proof Of Hasrbo Engineers Modding Their Guns

Posted by Atticus on 06 April 2003 - 05:55 PM in General Nerf

"Hasbro, Inc. is a toy manufacturing company based in Cincinnati, Ohio."

Sweetness. Hasbro is here in Cincy. The other interesting thing in the article is that they specifically mention the Crossbow, which seems to show that the Crossbow is semi-infamous for being an excellent Nerf weapon.

#780 Nj Spring War:

Posted by Atticus on 22 January 2003 - 03:17 PM in Nerf Wars

If all goes as it's supposed to, I should be heading up to the NY/NJ area to visit my uncle during my spring break (April 13-20). He lives in Ceader Park, and GunnedDown said it was relativly close to Hersh, and about half an hour to an hour away from where you guys Nerf. So I guess that'd be when I was available...

#5381 Nerf In The Newspaper

Posted by Atticus on 08 June 2003 - 07:56 AM in General Nerf

Yeah, rules are pretty much the same, except it costs $5 to enter, so that the winning team gets a huge sum of money. We had some 120 people enter, so the pot was HUGE. The only differences I could think of were that if you were shot, you were dead forever, and that if you're walking from school/work/other safe zones to your car, then you're fine. But walking from a non-safe zone to your car, you're fair game. This eliminated people just sitting outside at someones car waiting for them to get off work. It was great fun might I add... and even though I got shot about 3/4 into it, it was SUCH a relief, since I didn't have to be paranoid about everything, and be afraid to show my face in public.

#5372 Nerf In The Newspaper

Posted by Atticus on 07 June 2003 - 10:42 PM in General Nerf

Well the thing is, most of these are ambushes, where you don't know whats happening until you've already been shot at. I mean, ours ended yesterday (we won by the way, $150 per person!), and when I was shot, I had no clue what happened until I saw the dart lying infront of me and people cheering.

#1113 My First Mod!

Posted by Atticus on 05 February 2003 - 04:08 PM in Modifications

Well for my mod, you're going to need 9/16" brass. Everything should be pretty clear in that write-up, but if I did happen to leave something out, be sure to let me know, since it is there to help people.

#4174 More Crossbow Plunger Help

Posted by Atticus on 30 April 2003 - 04:49 PM in Modifications

I know how to fix a c-bow plunger if it breaks in the middle, but mine keeps breaking at the top where the rubber plunger connects to the main part. It's a fairly weak area as it is, and it's a hell of a pain to put back in place. Right now, I have about an inch long nail driven between the two pieces for stability, and then it's filled with epoxy for strength. But it keeps breaking on occasion. If anyone has a better idea for me to keep it from breaking, that would be MUCH appreciated. Thanks in advance.

#4176 More Crossbow Plunger Help

Posted by Atticus on 30 April 2003 - 05:51 PM in Modifications

Wow, I feel like a dumbass... there goes my "brilliant" idea of putting the nail in for stability. Thanks Zero, but I'll have to wait a week or so for it to break again till I put your idea into use. :(

#5321 Metallica's St. Anger

Posted by Atticus on 05 June 2003 - 07:05 PM in Off Topic

Worked 'til 1 AM last night, and picked it up on my way out. $9 after my in-store discount. As a Metallica fan, worth every $9. I think it's a mix between the old: fast and heavy, and the new: slow and mellow. Good though. There's only one thing it's lacking: GUITAR SOLOS!

#1859 How Cool Is This..?

Posted by Atticus on 27 February 2003 - 08:58 PM in Off Topic

Too cool for school.

It actually is pretty cool, if I ever have a topic relating to any aspect of Nerf, I'm sure I'll look into it. Anyway, I'm pretty interested in the results themself also. What type of barrel did you use?

Atticus is on the far right corner
Atticus is a favorite spot for meeting and grab (what the fuck...)

Atticus is situated at the western end of the southern slope of the acropolis
Atticus is really like
Atticus is hovering over well and his visible shadow

Those are only some of the best. There were hundreds.

#1721 Foam Modified, The Magic Of Bandwidth

Posted by Atticus on 22 February 2003 - 06:25 PM in Off Topic

Yeah, another funny part about it is:
"Which type of site are you planning on hosting?

1. Website without nudity
2. Website with nudity
3. Website with gay nudity

Or something like that. The point I'm trying to make is that this site is obviously targeted towards porn.

#1686 Foam Modified, The Magic Of Bandwidth

Posted by Atticus on 21 February 2003 - 03:23 PM in Off Topic

Well I've got just the thing you need. Web 1000. I use it for my site, and it's awesome. 50 megs of space. Free. And the best part... unlimited bandwidth. Yep. You've heard right folks. The only complaint that I have sometimes is that maybe once every two weeks it gets kind of slow for a half hour or so. But otherwise it's just plain awesome.

#1618 Flash Day Counter?

Posted by Atticus on 19 February 2003 - 06:44 PM in Off Topic

I don't know about a Flash one, but this site, KevinMitnick.com, has an HTML counter which counts down to the second, like you asked for. I tried to steal the source, but had trouble understanding which parts were necessary for the counter. You're a smart guy, I'm sure you could figure something out though. Good luck!

#3273 Dringing

Posted by Atticus on 10 April 2003 - 07:40 PM in Off Topic

Well I've had my license for... not too long now, and even though you could do without it until you're 18, it's my main source of entertainment. The freedom is just insane compared to last year. I'd been saving up for the better part of 2002 for a car, and for 2 grand, I got this sweet ass '87 Mazda RX-7. Insurance is a bitch, and it's high for me being a young owner of a red sports car. What's with the red cars being higher anyways? I have to work extra hours to pay it off. But anyways, I didn't really have a point, I'm just rambling now... license = cool...

#3375 Dringing

We do believe that there are cars for that cheap. And atleast I believe that they'll run "well". For a week or two.

#5303 Censorship On Forums

Posted by Atticus on 05 June 2003 - 01:38 PM in Site Feedback

Censoring words = baaaaaaad!
Editing posts to make them readable = good!

One of the main problems I find at NHQ is that just about every word that could be viewed as "offensive" is edited. Even stuff like "goddamn" or "ass/asshole" and stuff are censored. Censoring certain words take away from the connotation behind words. Like, if I was really pissed off, and wanted to say "fuck you!", and it would show up as "**** you", the feeling isn't really there. But editing posts on the other hand... please do, atleast with the ones that are like "yo guys im new hre whts nerf can u sel me soem godo guns? lol nca u reply 2 me or IM em". Yeah, edit those... please. At NHQ also some people however find it a game to edit every misspelling, which is fine, as long as you don't make a deal about it such as at the bottem of a post, put "[mod edit] please try to remember that 'a lot' has a space in it" or other anal retentive stuff like that. Hell, edit all you want, just don't bash the people who pressed the space bar one letter too soon.

#5428 Buying Guns?

...this is the kind of post where censorship should be kicking in...

Well atleast he pointed out to me that my webpage is down. But yeah, shoot him.

#2664 Bunker Construction

Posted by Atticus on 25 March 2003 - 08:25 PM in General Nerf

We actually have basically what ItalionStallion was saying. They cost about $15 to make each, but probably could be made for less than ten. We took a 4 by 8 sheet of plywood, and just cut it into 3rds, with hinges between them. They work fairly nice, I'd reccomend them to anyone who wants more of a portable base.

#1409 At3k Petg Mod Writeup

Posted by Atticus on 15 February 2003 - 12:23 PM in Modifications

I did the barrels differently, by simply pulling out that plastic "sub-section", but it does make putting in the barrels straight a bitch. Props on the ingenious way to stabalize them. I'll probably end up getting another one just for this.

#7276 At Ballblaster

Posted by Atticus on 23 July 2003 - 09:18 AM in Modifications

I have the pic, but Web1000 for some reason won't let me log in to upload anything, which is pissing me off. I'll try to find someplace else to put it up.

#601 Airtech Modification Round Table Discussion

Posted by Atticus on 14 January 2003 - 06:47 PM in Modifications

Yeah, as far as I know, the 3k and 4k airtanks seem to be the same size. Now I'm not positive, I didn't measure volume or anything like that, but they look the same. And Spoon, you'll be pleased with your 3k.

#559 Airtech Modification Round Table Discussion

Posted by Atticus on 13 January 2003 - 04:52 PM in Modifications

Actually, no. The barrels rotate exactly like they did right out of the box. I was suprised how light it actually is. Probably because I've been using copper for just about all my guns, which is heavy as hell, and I needed brass for this since copper wouldn't fit.

#553 Airtech Modification Round Table Discussion

Posted by Atticus on 13 January 2003 - 03:59 PM in Modifications

I'm sure a handful of people here have done the 2k, so I won't touch on that. I have both the 3k and the 4k. The 3k is awesome, I can get up to 80' flat per shot with 4 inch brass barrels. The only problem, is that the FBR I use is fits in the brass really tight, so it's pretty hard to push it to the back of the barrel, which you need to do or it will spin out. The 4k is in pieces in my basement, since it's complicated as hell inside.

#557 Airtech Modification Round Table Discussion

Posted by Atticus on 13 January 2003 - 04:31 PM in Modifications

Automatic barrel rotation. If you do get one, don't try to rip the pumping handle back, because it might move the barrel just a bit too far, and it might misfire. That also could be because I messed up putting it back. And the external pic of the 3k is uploaded.
