*EDIT* By the by, I just downloaded it on my new comp. It seems to be going, but it's been at 0 out of 2500000 for a while. And I just brought up task manager, who says that I'm using 95-99% of my CPU for the FahCore_78.exe. Any help?

I was actually thinking of doing something like this on an At2k. My Dad and I were talking about how we could use smaller canisters, which were prepumped, to pressurize (sp?) the tank. It'd have to be just right though. I'd probably unplug the release or something like that. It would be cool to use several of them, and if one runs out of pressure mid-battle you could just exchange tanks then. Ahhh... the possibilities.

Why? First shots, in my opinion, have a better potential for modding and look cooler. Plus, the cocking lever is really cool.If it means something to you, I also have a SuperMaxx 3000, but it's pretty badly screwed up. I'm hoping to hunt down some of the Lanard guns, but so far I've only seen First Shot's, and I'd rather have more NF's than First Shot's.That doesn't beat my one and only Titan AS-V1 tongue.gif

As to how it works, it's just a very large plunger. You pull it back by taking the handle on the top and racking it back about 16 times. Basically the whole body is the plunger/plunger tube, i'm guessing.

Whoa, lots of responses here. Remember kiddos, read the fine print - I haven't had the change to range test it yet. I need decent darts, for one, and I need to order more weights for that very purpose. But I will use the well weighted ones for the range test. More info tomorrow.Subjective analysis in my room tells me that with good darts I should be able to reach 65'. Worse darts, around 55'. The stock micros are doing about the same as with the old barrels.

Opening the gun up was a bit of a bitch, but you can see how flambo did it here. I then looked at the turret and thought that I had to keep the little screw ports intact. This is not so, and you can benefit from my past experiences now . To get a proper seating area for my barrels, I had to snap off the stubs and file them down, which took at least an hour and a half. Yeah, don't do that. Instead, just saw where the screw ports meet the lip of the turret. You'll get it if you see it. I chose 3" CPVC barrels, for these are tight enough for pressure to build up behind the dart before it is shot out. I can't cut straight, or the same length, which is shown, but my guns work. If I cared that much, I'd use a miter box or some sort of guiding system, and measure for longer than I did. But oh well.
I added liberal amounts of hot glue to support them, and then duct tape around the outside. Only one layer of tape, just to make sure that the turret wouldn't be too wide to fit back into the case.
I also found out a way to band this son of a bitch, which others have probably done. I'll show you where I put them ( thanks to flamebo's pic).
I took an abnormally long band...
...and doubled it up like this -
Then, if my finger is the plunger, wrapped it around like this, with the other end on that screw port in the third picture.
Snapped it back in the case, Tah-Da!
Subjective analysis in my room tells me that with good darts I should be able to reach 65'. Worse darts, around 55'. The stock micros are doing about the same as with the old barrels.
Whaddya think? Other than the fact that the barrels are fugly?

When I was considering getting my PS2, I didn't go for the general, biased look on graphics and the ignorant ideas of being a sony/microsoft/nintendo whore. I went and looked at their libraries. I already have a Gamecube - it has served me well. I've had a TON of really, really fun games on it. Isn't that the point of it all? I couldn't give two shits if Xbox has better graphics with a semi-bland shooter, but has no other library to speak of. PS2 came to my tastes because of DDR and many good RPG's being brought onto that system. I like RPG's, they're fun, as is DDR and, as I discovered, Guitar Hero. Both of the consoles I got I am very happy with, and all my friends who got Xboxes when they came out are still playing Halo 2. Which I find sad, it was a good game, but not enough to entertain me for THAT long.
Don't get me wrong, shiny graphics are really hot, I like them a bunch. But if I was to shell out $599 + tax to some guy for pretty lookables I'd have my head thoroughly examined. I've seen a bunch of interesting titles come out for X360 already. I've also seen some VERY nice looking projects for Wii and PS3, such as Mario Galaxy and Assassin's Creed. As I said before, I'll wait it out and act accordingly. I was lucky with the GameCube - I didn't research anything about it, and some really good games came out for it.
All in all, I hoped this discussion wouldn't turn into a "my graphics r bettr than urs" fight, but actual discussions. I was mistaken, although the last two pages have had some seriously deep comments. Thanks a lot for that, elf, and others who kept their cool and gave some pretty intelligent feedback. Mad props.
And DTReaper had a good point, get back on topic! If you're gonna bash each other about charities, make a new thread.
And I gotta say it. Nerf really beats the hell out of shooters, both PC and Console. KthxI'llshutupnow.

Nice idea! This seems to be something that would actually help one's aim, unlike the scopes that lots of people talk about, e.g. red dot scopes and magnifying scopes, which are pretty useless. This is simple, effective, and explained well.
I love your stuff, keep it up.

The orange obstructor that you talk about is part of the case, it seemed. It was attached. I'd say that you'd have to cut the case away to completely turret mod it. Plus, there are extensive air restrictors, which include some new obscure method of letting air in that reminds me of air tanks with firing pins. Check everywhere for screws, when opening it, as well, as there was one under the slider in the mav. Also, sometimes you can just pull apart the gun when you don't think that it's all unscrewed.if you can pull out the orange obstructor, and put pvc barrels on it, then that could solve the problem. still cant open the gun all the way.

Anyhoo, great job. I'm currently holding the innards of one myself, and I'm wondering if you took the time to plug the pump. It seems that 20+ pumps is overdoing it because this gun, like all air guns, have an air release valve. I felt the appropriate pressure at 8 pumps when using this gun stock, and got decent results, about what I expected (~30' flat, ~50' angled with the stock missles). I think you're doing too much work is all.

#151186 New Music...
Posted by Team Slaya on 14 April 2008 - 07:32 PM in Off Topic
Radiohead is a strange band. They can span from awesome riffs to some of the most depressing music I've ever listened to. ALWAYS worth a shot, Thom Yorke is a monster. Another great British band is Muse, they're just amazing.
Heavier music can get fun with stuff like Arch Enemy, Devin Townsend, Lamb of God, etc. No real specific genre I like, but Devin Townsend is really slow and melodic, while AE and LoG are more riff oriented and heavy. All quality metal though.
I've gotta pay homage to Maynard and say that I adore A Perfect Circle. Tool's good too, but I personally like APC's' style better. Start with the album Mer de Noms if you're gonna check them out, it's really great.
Now for disagreements. Dragonforce is really only fun to laugh at, they're mindless shredding. As far as classical stuff goes, I can't stand modern classical like Bartok. I'm a renaissance kinda guy, I sing a lot of baroque as well, so my tastes are really for the more melodic side of "classical".
A lot of new bands these days are mindless metal bands or just par rock bands. Fewer things stand out as really good, but it's really all up to you. The best tool for finding music for me has been www.pandora.com, it's found me a ton of interesting new bands. Have fun.
