Another weird thing I noticed was that there are NO screws in them.
They don't shoot for crap, but they are small enough to be pocketed.

You got them at a dollar store right? So try ripping it apart! You got nothing to lose. Then try and do a barrel replacement and put it together, and report back to us!
As of now I don't think it's considered a nerf gun, but a barrel replacement will do the job.
It was in the one 45 minutes away from where I live, and I almost never go there.
As for the one that has the spring IN the dart, it is a little piece of plastic in the barrel that releases the dart, and the spring in the dart launches it out, so I was thinking possibly replacing the spring in the dart.
The black gun originally had a.... "finger trapper" thing around the trigger, but I tore it off because it sucked ass.

Yeah, I saw the "internals" to it... wow. It's an interesting take to dart shooters.I have the black/camo colored one.

Ok, how it works. It's just the impact of the grenade ont the ground, wall, etc. that flings the darts out. The harder it hits, the farther the darts go.

You can just shoot Nerf darts out of the gun. I do it all the time abound new-years and it gets about 30 feet. About as useful as that "grenade" since you can shoot off the shots quickly without priming. You can even recharge the gun by buying normal cap gun caps and replacing the ones in the gun.
The popper gun I used, the darts didn't fit in the "cylinder."

It's thrown, although it might work being shot...So what do you do? Throw the grenade thing and the darts come out? Or does the gun fire the whole cylinder of darts?
Your write up has a 'before' and 'after' but not a middle of 'what and how'

How is this a grenade then if it breaks apart during flight? You might as well just throw a handful of darts... which wouldn't go far...
Only one dart came out, and I think that I put them in loosely.

How much are those clip though? Because I'm sure you'll be able to make a cheaper version, out of an elastic band perhaps? just around the very end of one? Idk. It just seems a little costly (and the fact you have to modify it) for something that essentially just holds darts together.
It was from the Dollar Store, so it isn't costly at all. The only problem is that they are only availabe at the end of the year because they are for New Year's.
Edit: The whole popper gun was from the Dollar Store, just to clear that up.

It makes it smaller, but makes it a little harder to load. I think it improves the range, although I haven't tested it.

i used this and it didnt roughen it...I did it, and it works pretty good. I think it hurts the range a bit, though the end of the barrels inside is rough from smoothing burrs.

I know people that have used one and they say to go very slowly, but even going slowly cuts through it quicklyuse a hacksaw with a saw for cutting steel or iron (very fine tooth) but dont go sawwing like a mad man, then youll melt the plastic

There's your problem. Longshots aren't good to start modding with. I found that out the hard way. My magazine doesn't work anymore, but I have decent range. Definitely wouldn't take it to a war.I'm new to modding

I'd say try tweaking it oh so slightly. It might be bending out of place when you put the shell back on.The dart tooth doesn't seem to be going up all the way. Do you know how I fix this?
The setup seems identical to the diagram of the longshot that was posted by Captain Slug but it doesn't seem to be working the way its supposed to.
