The Best Way To Moddify A Longstrike

09 August 2010 - 05:02 PM

Ok this is my first ever post so bear with me, ok.

Allright we will start with some before and after pics and upfront I am telling you that I took the pictures

after I modded the gun. I have two longstrikes because i screwed up the first one with the powerstocking so

be carefull. NOTE: THE POWERSTOCKING IS A VERY HARD MODD. Anyway to the before and after pictures

And now to open it up. First take off the front. Next take off the little orange cocking thing with a flathead

screwdriver.

Now open it up. I took all the screws out in order. I started at the top rightmost screw and did the perimiter.

All the screws that came out i lined up in order so that it would be easier to put the right screws in the right

holes. (Note: Don't take out the screws in the stock. You don't need to.)

Now that it is open here are some pictures of the before/after locks. Take out the ones that aren't in the

second picture.

Now you will be able to shoot the gun when the plunger is pulled back, and you will also be able to re-caulk the

gun.

Now, air restrictors. I took a regular drill bit and just drilled right through the first time and then I took a bit

bigger wood boring bit to finish it. And also I screwed up my first barrel doing this because i couldn't get

through the air restrictor spring so it just heated and heated untill it melted the plastick and bent. This time I just got a smaller bit and it worked like a charm

Now that that is done we can move on.

The next step is hard. It is a powerstock modd. It requires a dremmel, a piece of piping with a back to it,

a nitefinder spring and anyother spring you want. the first step is to go to the hardware store with the back

part of the plunger and find something that you can put a twist on cap on and also fits snugly around the back

of the plunger. It should be six inches long.
Posted Image
Now, dremmel out the inside untill you can fit the little piece of plastic that is directly behind the catch's

back end into it like so.
Posted Image
Next epoxy it in there good.

Now the hard part. dremmel out the back of the shell so that the pvc pipe will fit like it was made for the

gun.
Posted Image
Now do the same to the other side of the shell. Don't put the back on yet. Now put your new creation in

the gun.

Next, this is optional, we will make the stock removable. Take out both little orange things that hold the

stock in place.
Posted Image
Now dremmel down the bottom, make sure it is the bottom, prong on both like so. (A knife works, too, or

a box cutter. You just have the chore of scraping untill it is gone.)
Posted Image
Now put the whole thing back together. Here is an internals shot to help.
Posted Image
Just so you know, you can put an extra longstrike spring in but i didn't want to break the thing cause it is

now my primary. You should probably reinforce it before you put any more springs in.
Make sure to put the plunger in right or it wont shoot.
Posted Image
Remember those little tactical rail things that probably have fallen out now, put those back on, even if it

means your on the carpet with a magnet looking for that "Darned Spring" trust me it happens to everyone.

Now screw it all together again and your almost done. Put the nitefinder spring in first and then the other

spring you bought at the store then screw on the end piece

The last thing is the stock wont fit on if you have the big fat piece of pvc sticking out the back so you have

to dremmel it down in a couple areas first.

Now you are done.

Ranges!!!!

Flat ave. of 6 shots with front on: 40'

Flat ave. of 6 shots with front off: 48'

Flat furthest possible of six shots: 55'

Raider drum angled with front off 10 shot ave.: 95-100'

5 foot platform, right air humidity, no wind, front off, angle 45o/o, and luck with many tries: 110'

Almost never misfires and is a great gun all in all. Best ranges with the raider drum. Why the raider drum is

better I dont know but it is. And also it would be pointless to list the minimum range unless I had found a wormhole at the end of my gun that goes to Jupiter. <_<

This is Grafitibbbow signing of and untill next time keep shooting things (hopefully squirells  ).

Brassing coming soon
