A Significantly Improved Rfr

05 March 2011 - 12:53 PM

So I'm pretty sure this blaster is called the Buzz Bee Rapid Fire Rifle or something to that effect. I've had it for a while and I was getting bored of it's mediocre ranges and erratic shell ejection, so I decided to open it up and see what I could do. Sorry for the post mod pics in advance.

The finished blaster.

What you'll need:

-Miscellaneous Cutting Tool (Pliers, Wire Cutters, Hacksaw, etc.)
-Some sort of saw
-Dremel (recommended)
-1/2" CPVC
-1/2" CPVC Coupler
-Solvent Weld, Goop (glue)
-Hot glue/Gun (Epoxy Putty)

Posted Image
First, open up your gun and take out everything except what you see in the picture.

Posted Image
Close up of trigger area and lack of stuff.

Then, take out your plunger tube and break off all the tubes and junk, leaving this(minus coupler):

Posted Image
Alternate angle (I know it's crooked).

Posted Image
Cut your CPVC coupler in half and solvent weld it on like so. Let it dry than slap it back in the gun.

Posted Image
Now look at the front of your gun. You'll notice that the plunger tube is offset. Dremel the crap out of the shell to achieve an open space for your barrel and coupler. You'll also need to Dremel away some of the wall holding the PT in place.

Another angle.

Posted Image
To stop your PT from spinning around, hot glue or E-putty it in place. I chose hot glue for its quick setting time and ease of removal if I want to do something else with the gun.

Back of the PT.

Now put your gun back together and go test it out. Mine produced ranges around 60-70 feet. Tons of improvement compared to the 20-foot maximum range as a stock gun. Also, there's tons of room in the now empty shell for integrations and the like. If you wanted to you could minimize it even further or close all the openings with polycarb or something, but i like being able to see all the internals in case of malfunction. Questions and comments are all welcome.

A New Cpvc Ls

21 August 2010 - 06:15 PM

So, I had a singled LS laying around and I wanted to do something with it. I wanted to keep it singled but I had the idea to use the boltsled. I didn't want to deal with the bolt-nub breaking off though so I tried a different approach. I couldn't figure out how to resize the pictures but all the thumbnails are links to a larger picture.

What you'll need:

1/2" CPVC
One 1/2" CPVC tee
One 1/2" PVC coupler
Hot glue/gun
Dremel (recommended)
Pipe cutter (recommended)
Writing Utensil

Posted Image
Open up your gun and take out everything but what you see in the picture. You will also need the boltsled which isn't pictured because the gun was previously singled.

Posted Image

Posted Image
Cut the original barrel off, the one with the aforementioned "nub" and widen the whole a bit so the CPVC fits nicely. Cut a five inch piece and hot glue it in. Keep the o-ring from the original barrel and slide it on the CPVC.

Posted Image
Now take the 1/2" PVC coupler and cut that in half. Place it on like in the pictures. Mine doesn't need glue, yours might, I don't know. You need this in order to get the required draw to prime the gun. You can see what I mean if you try this without it.

I also threw on a BBB spring.

Posted Image
When you assemble the plunger tube, it should look like this.

Posted Image

Posted Image
Now take you CPVC tee and hold it underneath the boltsled. Trace the boltsled on the tee like so. I off-centered mine so there would be more CPVC supporting the back.

Now Dremel it out like so. In the last picture you can see that I left a few eighths of an inch before the retaining CPVC retaining wall. You want this.

Picture limit. Please don't post.

A Breeched Bbbb

i was fooling around with some ideas when i came up with this:

The orange tube is from a longshot, it's the internal barrel in front of the dart tooth. Cut the stock barrel down to an inch and stick it on. You also have to widen the hole to accommodate the longshot barrel. Mine doesn't have a trigger because my brother pumped it 20 times with a plugged pump and it snapped. I'm in the process of fixing it.

Breech open.

Sorry for the blurry pic. Breech closed.
I just cut a slot big enough for my darts.
I also minimized it like CS here.
The barrel is 10 inches of cpvc with some e-tape for fit. I am not in possession of any fbr at the moment when i do, I'll coupler it.
