I have the old tech target, 2 nite finders, one modded, and a lock n load.
All three have identical brass barrels. Nite finders and lock n loads are both very comfortable guns (the ttg is far from comfortable). My nite finder performs only half as well as my lnl and ttg. My ttg performed as well as my lnl, until I upgraded the spring in the lnl.
The LnL is really everything I'd be looking for in a sidearm. It performs better than anything else I have, and it looks and feels like a real gun. Looking like a real gun isn't all that important, but it's an added bonus.

There's really nothing special about it. It's basically Cxwq's PETG mod in the NH mod's section, except with 8" brass. I took apart the goo tube and filled the hole, basically eliminating that element of the gun design, added a pvc stock, and painted it.
I don't have any measured ranges for any of my guns... The longest distance I have as a range is approximately 50 feet (very general approximation), and I judge effectiveness by how fast and hard they hit the far wall in that range. It's far from an exact science.

The rifle and double shot do use the same shells. Your problem is likely that there is too much friction in your home-made shells. The double shot and rifle dont have any power due to their form, and design-inherent leaks. Anything with more friction than the stock shells and you're going to have trouble getting the darts out.I had some sucsess making shells for the double-shot, which as far as I can tell has the same shells. I made them by taking a piece of PVC and using a disk sander to shape it in the right shape, it ejected fine from the ds but the dart didn't seem to want to shot. I think it might have been because of the shape of the end of the PETG in the shell and how with the real shells they have the tiny ridges on the back of the shell.
I have two double shots, and a rapid fire rifle that i've replaced the barrel on. Even 1/2" sch40 pvc was too tight for my micro darts, believe it or not. I'm currently using 3/4" cpvc, and it only works about as well as the stock barrel.
However, the rifle, dispite being only about as good as a stock maverick, is easily the most fun gun I've ever seen.

Forsaken_Angel, those are the basic rules we played with too, except without nerf guns. You had to be creative. You couldn't be seen, as I said. It was intense.
Edit: It's all coming back to me now. One guy put food-colored salt on another guy's burger. We sat at the table together but no one saw him do it. His mark bit into it and noticed it instantly. He opened the burger, saw the green salt, knew he was poisoned, and hung his head in shame. He left his envelope that had all his mark's information on the table for his killer to pick up later when no one saw.
