Foam Recommendations?

08 April 2009 - 05:55 PM

I am interested in purchasing foam. I have made several hundred stefans using home depot, grey foam, but when I play outside in a wooded area with my friends, they are hard to see on the ground. Not to mention that the quality of the foam is only mediocre. Do you guys know where I can get some red/orange colored foam that fits well in 1/2inch CPVC? I plan on buying several hundred feet.

thanks for your time

Mini Doomsayer

I cpvc'd my rapid fire 20 recently, and so I put the turret to good use...

The nite finder is a first gen, AR is removed, a crossfire spring has been added, and there is a better plunger seal. I also couplered it. The nite finder was originally from a manta mod, so that's why half of the handle is cut off. The turret is held in place by legos, tooth picks, and lots of hot glue. It's a little sketchy but it works. I used felt and an O-ring to get the best plunger to turret seal. The turret holds 20 darts, but the barrel of the gun only connects to the outer 10, so it's really only a 10 shot turret. You can place darts in the inner 10 barrels and when you have shot the outer 10, reload with the inner darts. This mod GREATLY increases the rate of fire of your nite finder. The ranges are high 50's with stefans. If I could get a perfect turret seal I think I could get it closer to 60, but it's just so damn hard to get a good seal. I call it the mini doomsayer because it's like a doomsayer in the fact that it has a big turret, and it is rear loading. Problem is, the turret must be manually rotated, so a doomsayer is still a MUCH better alternative. However, this is easily my best pistol.
THis is my first mod that I have posted, and I am somewhat new here, so please don't completely bash my mod.

Anyone Else Have This Problem?

Well, after having my recon for over half a year, recently the plunger tube busted on me. I had removed the air restrictor, and I suspect dry firing the gun is the cause.

As you can see in the picture, the one on the right is the working plunger, and the one on the left is the broken one. The whole back of the thing cracked right off. I'm wondering if this has happened to anyone else before, or if there is a fix for it. I tried gluing the part that busted off back on, but even super glue came off after a couple of shots.
