Foaming The Maverick

First off, thanks for the help with my Nitefinder!

I'm about to start Dragonteuthis' Maverick Mod: The Foaminator 3000 and I noticed something peculiar about the Maverick's barrel. The holes at the back of the barrel don't quite match up with the raised half-circle that holds the straws. Here's a real crappy picture on paint of it since I don't have my camera with me.

So, my question is, do you leave the straws in the half-circle and let the foam fill in part of the hole, or do you keep the straws centered on the hole itself?

Modding My Nite Finder And I Have A Quick Question

I'm adding a light to my newly purchased Nite Finder (SpectreX's maglight mod with this green light since it's designed for a mini-mag) and I was wondering if I needed any of the original wires/contacts/etc. since the light stopped working after about 5 minutes of playing with it. I've checked the batteries and fiddled with it as much as my knowledge allows, but for the life of me, I can't get it to work.
