I had noticed it before, but only recently did I realize how bad it is. I see a lot of Nerf guns on Amazon that are priced way over what they should be.
I became frustrated when I tried to find a website to buy an Atom Blaster, and found only Amazon actually had any. There is only 1 for sale there, and it's priced at 59.99. That's completely ridiculous for something that retailed for around 5-6 dollars. The Amazon seller is here: http://www.amazon.co...2N6N&rh=&page=1
Most of the stuff they sell is also overpriced.
While the Atom Blaster is discontinued, and it would make some sense for it to be more expensive than original retail, 59.99 is just way too much. There are plenty of current products that are also priced unfairly.
So, I would like to discuss this. Does anyone know why this is? You won't believe how hard it is to find Atom Blasters...

So I Removed The Ar's On My Raider.
26 September 2009 - 12:05 PM
As a result of the drilling to get out the pesky assembly in the Raider's breech, the inside of the barrel was worn away slightly. There is still a significant range increase from the mod but the loose barrel makes it almost the same as dry-firing.
Does anyone have any ideas for fixing this? I'm mostly concerned about stress on the plunger (I padded it but it doesn't do enough) but harnessing the full potential with a tighter barrel would also be great. I was thinking of putting barrel material in the breech like brass or PETG, but I don't have either of those. I am curious to see if there are any alternatives.

Repairs, Any Suggestions?

So I went to a flea market today, I struck gold; a Crossbow, a Splitfire, and a Secret Shot 2. I bought them all for a dollar each. But all of them are in disrepair. I have a pretty good idea of what do do to fix them, but I'd like some suggestions from the NIC's collective intelligence.
-The Splitfire appears to be leaking out of the barrel, as well as a crack in the yellow part of the internal assembly. I'll try to lube the valves, and I'll have to find some epoxy to seal the crack.
-The Secret Shot 2 looks to be leaking out of just the barrel, but also the AR/barrel peg piece is loose and wiggles around for some reason. I'm going to just pull out the peg if I can, and lube the valve to see if I can stop the leak.
For the air guns, I am not sure if it will be possible to get to the valves without removing the barrels. Can anyone help me there?
-The Crossbow appears to have been left cocked for a very long time, and it looks like at some point the plunger rod just gave out and the plunger head broke off. There is also a crack in the plunger rod by the catch. I've superglued the plunger head back on, but now I need some reinforcement for that and the crack.
If any of you have suggestions to help me, please share. If you need them, I can post pictures/videos. Thanks.

Mod For Buzz Bee Missiles
01 June 2009 - 06:21 PM
So here's a mod for Buzz Bee Missiles I came up with by accident.
NOTE: This only works on newer Buzz Bee missiles, that are mostly hollow on the inside. If you look at older missiles you'll see that they are weighted and are made better. These will not work for this mod.
So, I got my Mega Missile and I was playing around with the missiles it came with, they were lighter than the ones that came with my BBBB. After shooting one out of my BBBB several times, the top simply ripped off of the narrower base. I guess the BBBB was too powerful.
These pictures were taken after I put on the tip and cut the fins on the back half.
The tip came clean off, the fins even stayed where they were glued on each piece. After it rips in half, you'll have the bulbous tip and the back end, which is the important piece. This will be a foam tube with fins.
Take the back tube and glue on some kind of tip. I just made a tip out of hot glue.
Then these new missiles can be used normally, with enhanced velocity, range, etc. I hope this was all clear.
And here's the best part: This mod can be duplicated. I've done this with 3 missiles so far, so I don't think I just got weakly glued duds. They must just be making them crappier nowadays. So just fire them out of a BBBB a few times, it should work.

Anyone Seen This Video?
21 February 2009 - 05:05 PM
I was surfing youtube when I found this video:
http://www.youtube.c...re=channel_page
The description says it's a prototype, which I though was weird. The strangest thing about it is the size! It's huge, way bigger than a normal vulcan, and looks to be firing gargantuan darts too. It fires a lot slower, and sounds pretty powerful...Has anyone seen this before? Discuss.
Piney edit: Yeah, I thought it looked like a display/demonstration piece too, having to do with the N-strike game (based on the board he was shooting).
