In Topic: How to tell when Target is getting in new nerf blasters

14 August 2014 - 01:57 PM

Incorrect, if they had it in stock or not, they would obviously be able to tell you, even if before the street date.
Yeah but if you ask someone to look it up, as not every store's signage team members do their jobs correctly, they can tell you whether or not they have any in the back, the street date if they have it, and can give information on when they might get the item in. Though it varies from case to case as not all will or even know how to.

As someone who works in the backroom at a Target, I can tell you that given JUST a DPCI# the only thing we can tell you is if it is located on a shelf in the backroom. We won't be able to tell you if it's in the store or not, we won't be able to tell you what date it will be set out, and we definitely won't be able to tell you when we might get an item in.

In Topic: New Blaster DPCI Codes

30 June 2013 - 11:43 AM

Targets may have these codes in their systems, but these items will not be in stores for a wile.

Knowing the DPCI is basically useless

This.

Hi, as someone who currently works in the backroom of a Target, let me explain how this wouldn't work.

  • You take these numbers to Target and ask someone to find this item.
  • The employee will call to the back and rattle off the number to the backroom team.
  • We will type the number in and it will come back with "no listed locations" or if it's way too soon(ie three months before they hit the shelves) then it will say "Item not on file" because even the distribution centers won't have them yet.
  • Also, people calling back there looking for an item that isn't on the shelves is enough of a waste of the backroom team's time, so searching for six numbers would just really piss them off(so by about the third number they won't even type it in, they'll just say no location).
TL;DR
95% of Targets don't get merchandise until, at the earliest, the week before release. At the latest, the day of.

In Topic: NDA Exclusive! New 2013 Nerf Mega Centurion

I'm going to go ahead and say that I believe the barrel is detachable judging by that groove where the barrel starts above the bi-pod. Also as someone said earlier, the shipping would be unreasonable if they were sending out thousands of five foot long boxes all across the world.

Another thing to note is that if Hasbro doesn't intend for the barrel to be removable then they'll probably design it similar to the LSK stock instead of a recon-esque barrel nub, and in that case it's not going to be difficult at all for anyone here to remove(if they actually attach it in the first place).

Hiya guys, I have an opinion.

First off:

That's not to say that blasters targeted at girls are a completely bad idea, but these seem like the femininity aspect is a bit overdone.

This. It's way overdone.

Wanting to include girls in nerf is a great idea. But painting everything pink and using apps to make it full of "togetherness" and "teamwork" will just make me(and most other girls I know) want to gag. I like the design scheme but not the color pallet. what they should have done is just released these as new blasters and overhaul their whole marketing campaign to be more gender-neutral. You don't have to make everything frilly and quaint in order to make it inclusive of everyone, just put some girls on some of the boxes an in the commercials and release new blasters for everybody!

Now, about the blasters themselves:
I'm very intrigued by that small blaster with the turret and hammer-action. I've always thought it would be cool if my blasters had a hammer. The crossbow looks cool, but I'll probably just chop off the bow arms, they're pointless and they'll just get in the way. The Heartbreaker Bow *gag* seems way too gimmicky and if I do go after it, it will be with great reluctance. And as for the pink nite finder(Oops I mean mini-crossbow <_< ), meh.

Anyway, that's my two cents. A girl's perspective.

... you might have not super glued your plunger seal to the pt...

Sorry If I've misinterpreted your poorly-worded/spelled write-up. But if you were to super glue the seal to the PT then you would have a non-functioning blaster.
I guess you could throw it at someone.
