Yea, Chicago is good. Right amidst the large mass of MNers and MIers we have, and of course all those in IL anyways.
Elf, that means... we have to get Luke to come, or... I hope one of your parents nerfs. I suppose maybe my dad would do it...
Yea I just looked at the frapper map and their are a ton of nerfers who live in the south east corner of Wisconson.
No not neccesaraly my parents just one of the parents of someone in our clan.
To Mr. Elf and Hilt, where would you be staying? There are plenty of hotels around Naperville, but they are mostly Hyatts, Hiltons, and other crap. There are some non-enpensive stuff, but it sucks.
Lets find a good trophy for the winning state.

If we can get enough people, I'll host a war during Christmas break at my location. It's going to be cold, but It will be fun. That would be cool if it snows.

Hey guys I was talking about having this war this summer. But if you want to have a war here at my location, or near by, I'll be in for it. Although, I'm not driving to MN or MI for the Christmas break.

And Mr. park we need to set down the rules. Like what guns will be alowed and homemades or no homemades, ect.
NO. First we finalize date, time and location. Then we get specific. And just so you know, I'm really only willing to come if it's a two-day or all-day war. Of course, don't make your decisions based on me.
It's obviously not going to be on christmas and can't be within a few days of it because of driving time; I vote the week before because then we won't have to worry about "Family Time" and just wanting to be lazy bums playing with our new Wiis.
I'm too lazy to look. What day is Christmas on this year?

Schweet. If the majority votes it on the weekend, I can take off work no problem. I just hate doing it on probably the busiest weekend of the year.
An all day affair on Saturday would be perfect.

I vote weekend. Yes, all day Saturday sounds perfect to me as well. 'Cause my school district is dumb and we have school the week before, so I'd need to be home on Sunday for homework and sleeping purposes.

Again, here is the satelite point of view of the entire place. The green area is where we are going to Nerf. In the upper right corner of the site, there is an elementary school. Most land here is owned by the local park district. Sometimes cops tend to check around here for suspicious activity. I doubt we will run into a problem with them, as long as we act appropriatly. I am not going to allow any black or very dark painted guns. My dad will probably be coming just to check it out and probably monitor a little bit. If your parents want to come (for obvious reasons), that is perfectly fine with me. The more the marrier. I live very close the site as well, so we can get anything we need at my house, such as first aid, and anything of that nature. I can probably bring some tables and chairs and we can cook some lunch and dinner. I'll have more details in another finalizing thread later this week probably.

The first pic is the parking lot right outside of the school. This is probably where everyone will meet. One of the best things about this site, is that it is right off the expressway and very easy to get to.

More shots of the parking lot

Do not post - More pictures coming
The park next to the parking lot.

Sorry, that was a lot of frickin' pictures. I just want you to get a feel for the site.

Kinda, not really. It's near the Hidden Lake Forest Preserve and the West brach of the Dupage river.
Usually there is no one there. The baseball fields are no longer in use and at that time of year, there will be no one there.

Lets get rules down. 3:15, No homemades, no expanded air tanks(SSPB exception) Nothing shooting over 160.
Actually I am going to allow homemades on a case by case basis. As long as the guns aren't that extreme, I will allow them. Any guns will be allowed on a case by case basis as well.

I disagree partially on concreting 3:15. I'm perfectly fine playing some rounds like that, but I think that depending on the game type, we may want to change it to something else. I just think this is something we should worry about when we're there, not three months beforehand.
Most importantly, we need an official count and a potential count. What I mean by this is that everyone who will be there for sure, say so and be tallied in the "Official" count. Everybody who may be able to make it or who will only come pending the official count say so and be talled in the "Potential" count. I can keep count if you like but I'd think it best to have Ryan keep count since it's his war and he has the first post, that way we can keep things on the front page.
One more thing, once you commit -- you're committed. I don't want to have 20 officially now and only 5 officially come the 15th. That's why we have a potential count.
I'll start: Potentially 5 from the Nerd Squad (Elf included), pending the official count is 10-15 or more.

I'm also going talk about "what to bring" and "what not to bring" with directions, etc.
What time in the morning do you think is suitable?
