I don't think it would work... Rubber tubing is usually not thick enough, and the plug and clamp setup still needs to work.

Oh, and don't flame him. He had a legitimate question.

Well, being as this thread has been reopened (Thanks CS!) I can safely add my experiences with the magstrike without being flamed to death. I recently glued the little hole in the thing that contacts the back of the clip (the same hole that FA24 filled in). However, the thing sits a little farther forward now, so I don't need to do AssassinNF's tape mod. Also, if you were to sand off the little green tab (or remove it altogeher, and fill the space with eopxy/'insert adhesive of choice here') wouldn't that prevent it from releasing air?

mini: the point of the bladder is to expand, so when air is released, it contracts, thus creating somewhat of a constant pressure for air output.

Also, CS, I am not sure what you mean by pluggin the pump, I assume you filled the center of the end with glue/epoxy? When I pulled mine apart, I removed the O-ring to get some measurements, and possibly put tape on the end. However, due to the lubricant, the tape would not stay on, so I just reassembled it the way it was originally. Now, it won't pump worth a shit. I think it isn't sealing properly. Is there a specific size of O-ring that works well for the pump?

sorry for replying to and old post. But has anyone tried or considered replacing the bladder with 5/8 id rubber tuber the McMaster sells? part #8637K171 its a couple inches longer then the stock one and looks like it would be easy to swap out.

The dimensions of the stock bladder are 3/4" ID and 1" OD and is made out of latex. A different size would be incompatible with the stock fittings.

Also, CS, I am not sure what you mean by plugging the pump, I assume you filled the center of the end with glue/epoxy? I didn't mess with the O-ring. I epoxied a short piece of plastic rod into the hole in the center to make the pump slightly more efficient. The stock O-Ring on the pump works fine.

I found out something else: The rib that the piston is in front of in the case serves another purpose. For a higher rate of fire, but less power, put the piston end in front of it. For more range, but slightly less speed, put it behind the ridge.

OP = OverPressure
The green spring-loaded stub thingy. You can disable it by taking it out then glue it in place by inserting it from the inside of the bladder. Then you don't have to bother replacing the stock plug and clamp.

An OP valve is a small hole in the pump, called the over-pressure release valve, that is plugged with hot glue to attain higher pressures in the air tank. "Flush with the white piece" means until the surface is even with that of the white piece. Also, it's not a good idea to revive month-old topics with questions often answered in the text or that could easily be figured out, or to use chatroom abbreviations (I.e.: u for you, l8r for later, etc.).

Edit: Slug beat me to it.

I mod nerf guns so they look good. So leave my scopes, doodads, and trinkets alone I like them. I don't mind the weight and I started out that way on toy guns and its not going to change.

Just plug the valve. Also, you must not have gotten the point when I told you to stop using chatroom abbreviations, which is strictly forbidden by our Code of Conduct.

If you read all of the posts in this thread you would know I had the same problem and I had to use Constant tension springs to fix that.

Clean up your post. If all you do is cut out the pegs you will still have the issue of having a partial seal on the rings that used to hold the pegs in place. For a more airtight barrel you have to take the back plate off, removed the pegs, plug the little holes, then glue the back piece back on.

Use a thin knife blade, and slide around it until you find a nice gap. Or, if you want, some acetone should be able to remove the glue, but I don't know if it will have an effect on the plastic.

Thanks prometheus I got it off with a knife. Also for those of you who like me don't have acess to brass or just dont feel like buying it you can take the top of the clip off and plug the hole with hot glue. The hot glue will hold since it's a small hole.

I have a question on brassing the clips:
Is there an alternative to using silicon caulking to seal the clips? Like, would plumbers goop work? Or would hotglue work?
I don't think I have any silicon caulking anywhere, so I was just wondering if there was an alternative that would work just as well as silicon caulking.

I would use plumber's goop, as I find hot glue a royal pain in the ass. The goop will fill holes as it settles, but since hot glue is a soft thermoplastic, it cools quickly, thus hardening, which doesn't allow for as good a seal.

Plumbers goop should work. Try and use the white nozzle piece that comes with the plumbers goop to disperse the goop evenly.
You can find the silicon caulking at any hardware store. I personally got mine at wal-mart in the paint section.

I still have not been having problems with the original mod posted. I tried CPVC inserts in the clip, but my range was better without the CPVC.
We should stop calling out/making fun of/pissing GC off. He's actually contributed and is available for trade. He's a better than average member no doubt. Got your back Cole.

That is because CPVC is insanely tight on darts for an air powered automatic.

It came to my attention today that Nerf is starting to add overpressure valves on their Magstrikes.
At first I couldn't believe it but then I was sent the photos.

If your magstrike does come with a hole in the center of the plunger's head it has an OP valve. Plug it up with some hot glue.

I would like to thank JRoD for being the first to notice this and then bringing this to my attention.

You see kiddies? Always read my write ups all the way to the end. Who knows what new helpful info will come up.

EDIT: Do not plug the valve!!! Disregard this post.[u]
