After seeing all these great dry-brushed guns, I felt like I should get a little more adventurous with this great technique. This is my first real attempt at dry-brushing an entire gun, but I like the way it turned out. So, in honor of all the great paint-jobs out there; here's my Mav, complete with copious amounts of silver dry-brushed weathering, and a plethora of Dremel/ X-acto induced chipping and damage.

I drilled out part of the air restrictors and removed the barrel pegs, getting a few extra feet (it gets around 35' now.) I'm probably going to sell it and get a double shot as a replacement, then use my blowgun and double shot as my gun combo.

My gun rack is now horizontal!

Huh, it looks like I only have two SM1.5k's. But I can assure you there's a second one behind the bottom one.

This is Victoria, she has a petg barrel that is STATIONARY. It does not move. What I did is sanded down the outside of the shell, so a coupler could fit around it, put tape around the petg and glued the petg to the plunger tube. It is almost impossible to move now. She is sooo accurate

Here's my most resent Recon. It was another experiment in weathering and dry-brushing. I'm really happy with this one. I over did it a bit with my Mav, but this one is a bit more...tactful.

I didn't paint the plunger tube, expecting it to get in the way of performance. To get it to not chip would take a few layers of paint and and few more layers of sealer/clear coat. With the added thickness of all that I figured it would cause unnecessary friction on the shell of the gun. I could be wrong, but didn't really want to chance it.

My stuff:

My current primary; a BBB (old purple version). It took about 4 hours to do (with drying time). I plugged the arrow holder holes with epoxy putty as opposed to cutting them off.
I personally think it could use some more red on the front handle.
Posted Image

My NF, there's a little wear on the handle from my decision to wear rings while nerfing.
Posted Image

and an Effeminate shot (with bands).
Just to note; this one HAD a blue LED in it, then became finicky and stopped working...
Posted Image

My second favorite MAV (that works).
The sticker says: "CAUTION do not stick finger into the center of this device"
Posted Image

it looks a little worse-for-wear because I painted it during the summer and it has been used since then.

Did that lazer tag gun fire darts originally too? Or is that a 2/3k tank in it? I'm a little confused. So that I'm not breaking the rules:

My new gun... Not totally finished. I still have to add a keyring to the tank and make a cover for the hosing and tank out of pvc. Here it is now though. I call it MONSTER.
Posted Image
Posted Image
Posted Image
Posted Image

It uses an at2k shell, sm3k pump, super soaker pump handle, and a titan air tank. Just stuff I had laying around that my friend was curious as to why I hadn't done anything with. He told me to create a monster. In one of the pictures it shows a piece of a crayola around part of the hose. That was because the littleb screw on cap for the hose on the sm3k pump was cracked so I just used that to make it sturdier.

really sorry about the size... Fixing it now.

My indoor Longshot. Range isn't an issue while playing in my house, so I just did the basic modifications (Nite Finder spring added, AR removed, bolt hole plugged, PVC'd stock). I also added a flashlight to the front gun shell that I integrated. I only put the shell of the front gun on because I like how it looks and feels and realize the front gun fires like shit. I made a mag clamp that works very well (I actually have another pair of mags clamped together, but they are not pictured). I made a little sight from the clamp part of the Longshot scope, the bolt cover, and a 1/2" PVC coupler. Considering the Longshot isn't insanely accurate, the size of the sight actually represents the blaster's accuracy.

On the other hand, the guy who posted before me used the word 'fuck' a lot so he probably knows what he's talking about.
