Is anyone gonna try to tape some of it this year? Other than the extremely poor quality photos from last year, Apoc has remained under a veil of mystery. I was thinking of buying a video camera, and I know howard has one, and I'm sure some of you others out there have either a camera or a tape you could bring *cough* Langley*cough*

Mhrm.. my dad has a nice digital photo cam. He took some pretty damn good pictures, but, he took them of the nice scenery around the park. I'll make sure he gets some action this time.

Yea that sounds badass to me. We also have another person comming from out of state as well it would appear for August 10th's Apoc 2003. Lil Dino Man.

Maybe some of you remember him from NHQ and whatnot, or even here. I haven't seen him post in forever but I just got a PM from him saying that it looks like he'll be comming down from central New York for the event. We're looking at a well sized head count here, I'm proud to say.

And also, I hate to make my post long or anything, but who's bringing the flagging tape and the watercooler this year? As I recall, one of our LCM members Kuhlschrank brought the cooler last year, does anyone want to volunteer to bring in flagging tape? And by the way, I could bring in cups for the cooler if needed.

Afternoon ladies. I will definitely be in attendance, as my schedule is clear. If my brother and some friends want to go I may be bringing up to an additional 3-4, but I will let you guys know ASAP. I have some orange flagging tape in my camping stuff that I'm more than happy to bring, however it will fail in comparison to the awesome hot pink tape brought by Spoon last year.

As per video and stuff, I have access to a digital still camera. I can take some decent stills. I can also probably borrow our camera, but it takes video on those little mini disks. So i won't really be able to do any editing but I would be more than happy to make copies and send it to anyone of the raw footage. Again more on all of this to come.

As for the video, I'm not really sure how we should do that. Maybe one of the first persons eliminated should be filming? Or is it possible we could find someone who is not offended by obsene language and gestures who would be willing to tape us throughout the day?

My first idea would probably work better.

One more thing, we're not having a rain date? Last Apoc we came pretty close to needing one, in fact I got a late night phone call from Famine at around 12:30AM inquiring about whether or not we were going to push the war back to the next day and use the rain date. Even then, it rained through a bit of our Apoc 2002, though it was badass and added to the affair.

Here's what I'm thinking, unless this has already been shot down and I missed this discussion entirely, would August 9 be okay as the Apoc date? And then August 10 could be the rain date?

Well Evil, if anyone brings a camera, it is up to them what is gonna happen with it. If I bring one, I think I might be the only operator, unless someone can show me they have the skills of holding something for extended periods of time.

Yeah, and the video camera might be a no no. I don't think id bring that. Maybe my better digital camera, but the other is too risky.

I am not a definite. Maybe I will be doing something else that day. I'd say it's 75% that I'll be there. And haven't we already discussed rain dates?

I dont think raindates are gonna be used. Unless it has been raining for a week and a half (very possible) theres no point. I think everyone should plan for the tenth, cuz unless it rains so badly that you cant shoot a dart more than 3 feet, we will be playing.

Yes, I don't think rain dates will be neccessary. We'll get a better feel for it as Apoc approaches.

If I get the damned thing fixed, I'll bring my DV camera up with me, but I think I would rather be the only one operating it. I'll sit out a battle or two to use it I guess.

All of this is tentative and by no means a reality.
1st, I am hoping to borrow a digital videocamera from my friend and bring that to APOC with a spare battery and extra tape.(we had problems with lack of the two last year) .
2nd, I will NOT be giving the tape to Langley and the LGLF because last time I never saw it again. Instead I will take it to my friends house who lives 3 miles from me and we will edit it there.(Assuming I get the camera, suggestions for the soundtrack will be accepted after APOC has taken place.)

Oh, by the way, I can make it on the 10th.

What kind of DV camera is it?

I may be able to get a really quite nice one for the war if we need one, but I'm sure as hell not sitting out to video tape.

As much as an enusred video of the war would rock, I'm concerned with still shot photography. Last year we went with film and I spent 60 bucks on developing those photos. This year I would like to have several digital cameras at the war, and to have the photos on my or Howie's hard drive that night. That would allow for a faster uploading of the pictures because of lack of wait time for development (which was too late for summer) and my faster modem. The goal here is to have me 60 dollars richer than I was last year, and to have those pics up by tuesday night after the war. We would need captions writers.

We can all take pictures (everyone with a digital camera that is) and then upload them to our own computers, and email them to someone who can put them on the site/a site.

Maybe you could join one of us at our computer desks, but it would take too long to send the pics to you, who would then caption them, then send them back for us to post on the site.

Why, you guys don't have broadband yet in Deliverance town?

Why don't you post all the pics on a blank web site and number them, then just have him submit captions to you for them with the coinciding numbers, then you can simply upload them to the real site with captions and all later.
