Dryfire safe PS3.0:

One thing I've loved is that on my Pump-action Rainbow blasters, there's a dry fire safe feature. The one thing I've not loved on my Pump-action SNAP, is the lack of a dry fire safe feature. I went to Home Depot looking for irrigation fittings, and found this nifty thing. A stainless steel eyebolt, with nut. Seeing how some people have attached surgical tubing to their ESLT blasters made me think of this solution.

Enough intro. All there is to it is to replace the steel machine screw at the rear of the plunger rod with with eye bolt and tighten down the nut to hold on the metal washer and add a string/rope that can be seen on the Pump-action Rainbow blaster.

I finished it up. The plungerhead is by far, the best design I've ever used in a springer (props to Kane and Ryan for the general idea, props to my students for not complaining when I use them as a source of free labor). The o-ring I use is 90025K354. Though it's a bit pricier than a normal round o-ring, it has two points of contact in the plunger tube and seals absolutely perfectly, and it's still an order of magnitude less expensive than a skirt. I didn't set mine up as a check valve because it's really not necessary. I used a .150" wide groove with a 1.075" base diameter to make sure the o-ring can freely float in the groove to further reduce friction. This is by far, the best pumpbow I've built so far. There's no ringing from the spring after each shot, just a nice, solid "thwack". It primes really smoothly and the trigger is super crisp.

By the way, I'm never making another one after I finish this batch. The handful that are currently unclaimed will go up for auction with a starting price of $155 (since that's what everyone else paid) after all the pre-orders are filled.

I first posted a picture of this extension-spring bullpup rainbow back in 2012 when I finished it, but that picture vanished (fuck you imageshack) and I've made some changes since then anyway.

Made a super clear ESLT blaster for demonstration purposes, and a video explaining some things about how it and the double lever catch works. Props to Ryan bringing/holding the camera and whatever inspired me to speak semi-coherently for almost 5 minutes on end with only one take and no planning. Fuck the focus on that camera though.

This is not a production blaster for MHA--I wouldn't even use it in a war. In addition to costing more money and time to build, I don't trust it to be as strong as the opaque or mostly-clear versions. But, it holds up well enough to show people how the ESLTs work, which is all that I was going for. I'll probably use this again as a prop for my forever-in-the-works double-lever-catch writeup.

MakeItGo's design with improvements. Less wtf tubes, sexual innuendos, trial-and-error, maple syrup and that "other" bacon.

The 1/4" pieces are HDPE from McMaster. Cutting board, essentially.



It's 23" long. Shorter than my last bullpup by ~5" and shorter than my Crossbow by ~1".



I have found square pump grips to be more comfortable than round, tubular grips or vertical foregrips. The blaster could easily be fit with a vertical grip if the user so desired.



War setup. The clamps make the barrel/hopper assembly quite stable. The stock keeps the hopper elbows clamped to the blaster. Coop and I will be play testing this blaster at Apoc.

This blaster is slam-fireable.

The blaster is not painted, the PVC itself is yellow. A blue and clear version are coming. #BeReady

This is my first POS homemade. It gets around forty feet with stock streamlines. The plunger seal is horrible, if I plug the barrel I can hear the air hissing around the plunger head as I slowly let it slide inwards. I have yet to try it with my stefans.

It's a redesign of my first adaptation of MakeItGo's bullpup. My hope was to optimize the design but this build required more time and material for similar performance (cooler ascetics in my opinion). It works but the prime has a tad too much friction at the moment. I still have a lot of cleaning up to do before I post the finished product.

Overall I think I'll stick with my first design unless I make a breakthrough. Drev built a fantastic reproduction of the design with just the template PDFs so I've got good feelings about v1.

Finished my first Bullpup recently and I'm super happy with the results. It's based off Drev's writeup but with a few changes:

• Extension spring for better trigger feel
• Extended shoulder stock
• Simpler way to attach handle
• HDPE handle instead of wood
• Adjustable barrel spacer
• Set screws
• Clear everything!

Velocity was achieved with a 14'' barrel, 9-dart hopper, and 1.25'' slugs. You can read the full writeup here.
