Double post rather than edit because this correction deserves attention:

The stability problems I was observing appear to only affect the full length darts.  Since I used an RSCB to test these because they wouldn't work in hoppers, I didn't bother cutting down the darts and didn't think it made a difference.  But it does.  It DEFINITELY does.  I can't say yet whether these are as stable as our MHA sillydomes, but they are at least good enough that I need a LOT of testing to know for sure.

You need the image to be uploaded somewhere on the internet first.  Get that web address.

Then, put [ i m g ] (without the spaces), then the web address, then [ / i m g ] (also without the spaces.  There is also a button above the text field (Next to another button that looks like <>, its a mostly green box) that will help you with this.

I'm guessing you are Artifact Blaster Mod Works from Facebook?  I'm glad you found us on Nerfhaven (I was just recently asking about these same darts I think)

So for the image (from aformentioned facebook page) with the address (Long links automatically get shortened and turned into a hyperlink):

https://scontent-sea...405&oe=5760A425

add the image tags, and it should show up without users needing to use the link:

Wait hold up, Just now realized that from the picture it seems Kane has the VTN's I linked above in this post. Kane, if these are In fact not the same as the ACC's can you do some extensive testing (Fire them out of a stock, modded, and homemade blaster and if possible compare them to the black ACC's) on those since I want to know if these are better than the ones Cheerios tested with.

In my use of these darts (Black ACCs) cut down, I've had much better luck hoppering them. They fed reliably more than 75% of the time. When I tried to fire them out of my XBZ longstrike, however, I had the tips flying off every other shot, with no dart lasting longer than 2 or 3 shots. I tried reinforcing the darts with straws, and filling the straws with hot glue, and that certainly stopped the heads from flying off. This straw reinforcement gave the darts too much rigidity, though, and they won't hopper at all anymore.

They fly reasonably straight out of my pump snap, easily as well as my slugs if not better, but they are worse than elites when fired at velocities close to 250+. I am going to experiment with a longer barrel, but I don't think that it will completely fix the problem. My idea is to add a weight, maybe nothing more than a copper bb, to the end of the straw when I glue it, to help add some more weight to the head. In theory, this should stabilize the darts.

I have high hopes for these darts, because when I finally got one to fire straight at ~ 240 fps (more a matter of luck than anything else), it flew close to 140 feet flat. I doubt performance will be that good regularly, especially if I add a weight, but at high velocities the darts could be incredible, if we can get them to shoot straight.

I'm going to try and experiment with weights this week, but I'm going out of town for spring break and probably won't have the opportunity to bring a blaster to test with. If anyone else tests this before I get a chance, please post your results so the rest of us can see.

Ok, I would watch the news on those new prototype ACC's that are going to be not black and will have a longer stem.(that will help with the heads flying off) Those darts will probely fix that problem you are having but if you can't wait buy some vinyl tipped nipple darts but do realize they are basically aerodynamic FVJ's:http://www.ebay.com/...C0AAOSw5ZBWLYpW

Thanks, I've been watching those V2 darts for a while now, and decided when I saw them that I'm not going to purchase anymore ACC darts until the V2s are available.

Now that I'm back from vacation, I've had the opportunity to test the darts a little bit with weights and reinforcements. While I was away I was able to make around 70 darts, but not test them. I got back this evening, and the results look promising.

I took a couple shots, and they all seemed to fire straight, with absolutely no tumbling at all. They also appeared to fire accurately, for the most part. There were one or two outliers, but when fired again those same darts flew straight and true. Take this with a grain of salt, however, because I have not had the opportunity to fire at a distance of more than 30 ft yet, but preliminary results are promising.

Because it is dark outside, and my internet is down (posting from iPhone), I cannot share pictures of my darts or fire outside, but hopefully that will change in the morning. I plan on doing an outdoor test tomorrow, as well as documenting the dart assembly process, as I felt it was much easier than making slugs.

When that is done I will update this post with the data. I hope this is of some use to you guys.
