Forsaken doesn't make matchsticks, and normal matchsticks only work like stock darts, ie your limited in your barrel set up. So assuming you know that, probably the original way is best.

Those really aren't matchsticks, he just uses plasti-dip instead of hot glue. I would choose regular stefans over both, but I would choose FA24's "Matchsticks" over regular match sticks, since it doesn't limit barrel length/type.

I can get like 20ft for $9ish shipped, would it be better to goto my closest ACE or Lowes and find some FBR there? How much does it usually come in and how much does it usually cost?

I know you can add glue to the weight to keep it from flying out when it hits an object, but my weights/glue tips are flying out of the darts just when they're fired. Is there a way to make them stay attached better? It sucks. It happens to like every one out of five shots, and about every dart that has been shot more than 3 times.

The gun is strong, but damn.

Eh, I wouldn't suggest it. Nearly every single one I used it on, the airsoft BB's came out of it eventually. It might've been my method, (i.e. put the BB in, add glue, squeeze the sides of the dart's head to make sure the foam contacts the BB and make a bond with the glue) but I wouldn't suggest it. Especially when I have hot-glue now.

Also, should I buy FBR from here? http://www.aloghomes...acker-rod.shtml Or should I just go down to ACE or Lowes?

Galaxy, that is actually really good foam. I've had a lot of people recommend it to me. It sucks if you're nerfing in the snow (the foam is white) but other than that it's great.

That site has normal grey foam too, not just the white stuff. I have heard good things about it...but what I got sucks. I got 1/2" and it is almost 5/8". I can't get it into OMC's petg at all.

That's not really my question, my question is, would it just be cheaper to hunt down FBR in Lowes or ACE than to get it shipped from that site? I have no question that the FBR on that site is at the very least decent.

9 dollars for 20ft is spendy. Track some down at Lowes or Ace. Menards (if you have one by you) has really good FBR for around 3 dollars for 20ft. Go with somewhere closer, then you also don't have to worry about shipping messing with diameter or density (if its froma hot to cold place, or something like that it could get messed up).

Just to throw something out there, don't rely on lowes for FBR, I have gotten FBR there three times, and it has been three different qualities. They are all in the same type of packaging, but the first time I went, I got this really thin, not dense (I don't know the word for 'not dense') foam, that sucked and was very light. The next time I went there, I got this good, mediumly thick foam that had almost like a thin skin on it, and it was pretty good, then the most recent time I went there, I got pretty good foam. It was somewhat dense, very flexible (good for straightening). They also move it around a lot. But the foam is cheap, 20 feet for 2.89. (w/o tax of course). I'm just saying, you should probably get your foam at like true value, (if you have one around you), or ace. I have'nt tried home depot though, and I have never ordered online.

Thanks for the info, what section is FBR/Chalk Saver usually in? Weather Proofing? Also, do you think there is any way to check through the packaging (I.E. squeezing, poking, weighing) if the FBR is good or not?

There really is'nt much of a way to check, unless you rip open the package a little bit, take your knife, and cut off a small chunk, and it it sucks, put it back in a hurry. But I would'nt do that. In my Lowes, I found after quite a bit of searching, and then asking an employee, (Lowes has terrible service) I found it in the hardware section. I thought it would be in plumbing at first, (at the time I barely knew what FBR was called, I was just getting into nerf, and my friend told me about it), then I checked various other places, but yeah, I found it in hardware. Or, if it is'nt there, you might want to check doors and windows, because that's what FBR is used for. That is the section my friend Kyle, (Grenada on these boards) got his in.

You just have to search around. It is useless to ask anyone. People never know what I need, even if I know what what I am looking for is meant to be used for. I was looking for weather stripping a few years ago, and I asked the guy for weather stripping...the stuff you put in windows to keep it sealed. He had no idea what it was or where it would be. He just helped me look around the store till we found it.

For the sake of putting my questions to closure, I was able to goto ACE today and found "Chalk Backing" for roughly $4.50 for 20ft in the Chalking section, along the same wall as actual chalk. Already cut me 8 darts and used the "pillow case + hair dryer on low" method. I am now warming up my glue gun.

Testing the foam. I like your methods, but once you find good foam, buy nothing else. I made that mistake so I have darts of all different sizes

2'', for me at least. I just went outside and tested a batch of darts, be sure you glue the weight down, to prevent it from moving inside the dart. If you don't they will fly in circles, killing accuracy out of a high power blaster.

For straightening the darts, I use a pillow case for 15-25 seconds. Make sure you shake the pillow case so the darts don't stick together. That way you can see the darts, and you can put plenty of them in.
