HellaWeen 2012


When - October 27th, and we start at 9 and usually start team clean up at 3.
Where - The Bowl at Newel, yes, again. Because it rules, ya dig?
Costumes – Yes.
Prizes – Only if you got a costume.

Darts
• Slugs, Venom’s Balls, or ask me
• No glue domes

Blasters
• Nothing single-shot bigger than a UMB with stock pump and oprv. No bans on springers/bow’ers.
• 4B’s, Titans, Jobars, Roto Rockets: ASK ME!!! Tell me you barrel set up and your intended ammo, I will be very fair if it is safe. No bans on blasters for big ammo.

Pistols
• If you replaced the spring with anything other than another stock spring or the plunger tube with anything other than a different stock tube it is NOT a pistol. A SupaSplat and the like are NOT pistols.

Shield Rules
• Mantas, manta replicas, ANY Nerf or toy blaster shell split manta style AND…and, check this…ANY toy of ANY KIND cut up, hacked up, split up, I do not care as long as it is top mounted.
o Novelty stuffed animal? Top-mount that! A couple old G.I. Joes hot glued together? Top-mount that!

More Shield Rules
• Medium-ish toy shields and a pistol
• Bigish toy shields and melee.
o Look for pics of Cranky Monkey from Cataclysm 2012, you’ll know what I mean.
• Big Ammo counts as a ‘hit’, not a shield breaker

Melee Rules
• NO barrel taps
• Pool Noodle, FBR/foam insulator, crappy dollar store melee, or ask me
• No Nerf swords, nothing with a stiff shaft/core/center, nothing wrapped in duct tape

DTC and Big/Silly/Alternate Ammo
Update to come, but trust me in that you will want to dig up all your missiles, rockets, and the like.

Four-team 360 Defend The Core Rules

Our rounds of 360 DTC were some of my favorite of Augsational and dammit it has been every time I’ve played it! HOWEVER, there were several situations where war participants, Myself as an example both receiving and providing, were faced with the scenario of using a stupidly over-powered blaster at very close range because we are all around the core: no more.

Please read the chart below and bring ammo accordingly. Please bring LOTS of ammo in these categories. I know some of these are not air-propelled: I’m not going to handicap people because they didn’t buy 4 Sonic Bazookas and 6 UMB’s like I did.

Important to note: rounds will be no more than 10 minutes to account for the fact that I anticipate ammo supplies to be lower than if you could power through 400 slugs.

Point gradients
• Stephens/Slugs – ZERO! Not a single damn point! Can still tag players, but no points.
• Stock ammo – 1
• Mongos/Ballistic Balls/Vortex discs or any disc ammo – 3
• Sock Grenades (thrown) – 3
• Sonic Baz darts/Arrows/4B and UMB missiles – 5
• Stress Balls, small Nerf footballs, or similar squishy objects (thrown) - 5
• Titan Rockets/Ironman Rockets – 10
• Homeade/Draconas ammo – Ask me, I will classify fairly
• Other crazy crap or weirdness - Ask me, I will classify fairly

Why I'm doing this: With these regulations we will maintain all the absurdly fun challenges involved as usual AND stretch our creative engineering to get higher points while NOT getting turned into pepperoni pizzas. And yes, if you want to stay on defensive whilst brandishing only melee you now can do it with a much high degree of safety and effectiveness.

Also, since I've moved, I only have 3 blasters (PAS, pumpbow, hand cannon) and 1/2" slug darts, is this ok, or is this more of a melee/pistol/whatnot kinda thing? Just want to know in advance what to expect.

There's usually only one or two pistol rounds, and since it's territories the action is contained in a smaller area and it's a lot of fun. There's always plenty of extra pistols to borrow too.

Hipponuts: I shall answer these all:
1) Awesome!
2) Nope. Expect at least 6 people, as many as 12. I have never had a bad war with 6-12 people.
3) I can say 100% it would be: we are nice people who play fair and have a wide variety of games that cater to every possible style of play and level of ability.
4) That is plenty for any given war.
5) No, but we do allow them. Rules and regs in the OP.

Time to do something that has not been done in MN since, I'm pretty sure, SPANO 2009: HUMANS VS ZOMBIES! It's Halloween, this is HellaWeen, and Newel park as a great layout for it.


NOTICE PLEASE the ammo regulations: I've got it narrowed down to only one serious part and this is it.




Green = Territory Depot/Survivor’s Objective
Red = Zombie Spawns

Objective – 1-team
• 1-2 zombies at the start, rest are survivors.
• All survivors start in the dead center of the field at the pavilion building. Zombies (s) start at spawn points.
• Must make it to all the depots and switch the sticks to neutral for the survivors to win.

Objective – 2- team
• Same rules at 1-team
• 2 teams start, each at opposite sides of the pavilion.
• If you are tagged by a human you are “dead”, and must remain in the spot you “died” in until a zombie resurrects you.

Blanket regulations
• Stock ammo, silly ammo, or sock-grenades ONLY!
• No blaster more powerful than a Sonic Bazooka unless using sillies or multi-barreled.
• Zombies use only 2’ pool-noodle (I will provide some) or approved melee.
• Survivors get only one life, zombies are unlimited instant touch respawn.

Cool, thanks. I've been out of the scene for a while and haven't nerfed up here before, but it sounds like it will be a blast. My friend and I will need to borrow blasters + darts for anything that's not primaries/slugs, if that's alright with you guys. It's looking like we're very likely to be there.

Just a warning guys: I'm going to have to bum a lot tomorrow, I literally am coming to the war with my clothes and that's about it. Anyone who's so inclined to let me use some stuff will be super cool in my book. I'm also planning to stay until lunch time-ish.
